There are so many choices for dining all within walking distance. A bus stop for a couple of local bus routes is just steps away. Venture up the side streets away from the harbor for some hole in the wall eateries and interesting shops. It is a very safe place to vacation. Mercado do Peixe has excellent seafood and desserts. There's even an Irish pub, Ned Kelly's if you prefer your beer on the dark side! Renting bikes to enjoy the bikeway along the water is a great idea! Be aware that the bikepath ends at a few spots and you need to share the narrow roads with cars. Well worth it to be able to explore more. A rental car or jeep tours are essential to see everything on the island.
Next time, I would plan more time in the Furnas area, so much natural beauty wherever you look.

It was my third time and I always had a great time. People are lovely, it is easy to walk to places. There are plenty of activities you can do on the island, which you can access from Ponta Delgada. I love the vibe and will definitely come back again.

Out dated, many poor restaurants barely qualifying as Portuguese in nature. A lot of restaurants provided poor cooing skills ( i am a retired Executive chef of 40+ YEARS) Corrupt ATM machines, just like all over the EU, Tourist predators. Car rentals very cheap, however they don't recognize 3rd and 4th party Insurance...you damage your car you pay for all damages on the spot! Stores boring, very few pastry shops..only saw one. I was like going back 50 years in time

A very nice city with very friendly locals.
A very nice city with very friendly locals. I enjoyed every bit of the city. It was easy to plan an easy city hike in a day to see all the good spots. I would however recommend visiting outside of the peak season of tourists just to have a more relaxed experience of the city without the crowd and the spike in prices. and also, they mean it when they say it's a city where you experience all 4 seasons in a day XD

Very relaxed, chilly vibe.
Very relaxed, chilly vibe. Weather changes quickly with fresh blowing air and quite good prices in restaurants. The one and only minus is for transport which is cheap but not very frequent and reliable, ideally rent some kind of vehicle.
Quite unique place to stay. We stayed in Azores apartment for one week as a couple and it was really spacious. It would be a bargain for group of 4 or 6 people. Great host, very helpful with everything and easy to communicate. Cozy interior decor and fantastic , well equipped kitchen with a view from the top floor. Great location and large market right on the door step. Pick up for most of the tours from nearby hotel and about 20 minutes walk to the port and center of Ponta Delgada. We would definitely stay again.
The reception was wonderful, they let us store our bag for a few days while we went island hoping. There was off site parking available, we had a later check out, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was by far the best we had during our trip to the Azores. The room was large with comfortable bed, desk, chairs, balcony, TV, mini fridge. There was a small gym and pool. The property is historical, so there were a lot of architectural details around the place.
This hotel was our last place to stay in Ponta Delgada and island of São Miguel. It has perfect location on the edge of historical center of the town, it is a stylish place to stay with a great community like feeling, staff is very accommodating and tries to make you feel satisfied on all levels. Hotel has a great garden and community dining terrace, excellent breakfast, you have feeling like you are within a close circle of friends no matter where you come from.
Excellent value! Very clean and quiet. Excellent Customer Service. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Very close to the Pineapple plantation as well as Pão do Rei Coffee shop & Bakery. Walking distance to the grocery store ( Sol Mar ) and public transportation.
15 minute walk to the Marina and Portas da cidade. We loved exploring Ponta Delgada by foot and discovering new streets, parks, the university of the Azores etc.
highly recommended this hotel with so nice stuff who are so friendly. the location is so good since it is in the old town of the ponta Delgada and close to the port. Moreover, you will be able to find lots of restaurants around.
from 7:30 to 10:30 they are serving a good breakfast with local bread
dont forgot to ask towel for beach and Dona Beija (Thermal Pool) if you are willing to go.
Great localization, high quality household appliances, a lot of space, ocean visible from windows, between two beaches, barbecue in the garden. Excelent price/quality value. We've looking for a long time to find proper place to stay on Azores, and that was perfect choice. Also super friendly host! Thank You very much for taking care of us :).
An old school converted into a hotel, in downtown Ponta Delgada, this hotel combines old school style with modern comfort. The room was sober but tastefully decorated. The breakfast was plentiful and good coffee.
We didn’t use the hotel parking for our rental car but rather used the free public parking a 5 minute walk up the hill.
Relatively new and modern property situated close enough to the airport and Ponta Delgada but feel very peaceful, walking distance to nice beaches. The room was very spacious with good quality air conditioning for cold/heat, and generally well equipped. Staff was friendly and willing to help. Breakfast delivered to door is a plus.
The room was clean and had everything I needed including a comfortable bed.
I was able to check in very early in the morning.
Very friendly staff.
I could leave my luggage at the hotel overnight when I headed out for a bicycle ride.
Wonderful breakfast.
Great overall value.
Easy walk to the center of Ponta Delgada.
The hotel is amazing! The best place we stayed at in Azores. The staff is very kind and friendly, the food at the restaurant is delicious, both breakfast and lunch. We loved the design a lot - minimalistic and modern. They also have a small gallery with paintings on each floor, which we enjoyed a lot.
The location was good, very close to Ponta Delgada center. Also a large parking area within the hotel compound was very useful. The room was large. Also a kettle for making tea and a small fridge (for some reason no coffee was provided).
A perfect place to stay in Ponta Delgada! Staff is so friendly, especially Beaztriz! Breakfast was amazing. The room and entire building are extremely clean and quaint! I would stay here every time I return to Sao Miguel! I LOVED it!!!
The apartment was very stylish, high quality and has a lot of space for two people. The hotel is just 4 min away from a free parking so this also fits the needs of most travellers to Sao Miguel.
Great view of the beach, easy access too. Hotel also provided beach towels!
Closeby restaurants with good value for money meals.
Only 15 minutes by taxi to the airport was a bonus...
For me it's one of the best hotels on São Miguel❤
Beautiful, stylish and cosy place. We will definitely return. Muito obrigado ao dono do hotel e equipe
