This place is a magical trip back in time. Stylishly furnished with a retro feel. Make sure you visit the roof terrace and the lower ground floor. Roberto was an excellent host and is happy to tell you about the history of the B&B. Morano Calabro is like a fairytale - a maze of winding streets and steps and so peaceful. Wonderful stay and very much recommended.

A very big apartment with a graphic view to the iconic village. Seating on apartment's balcony, having your espresso with the view of Morano Calabro it's a real luxury!
The apartment it's spacious, well equipped with 2 air-conditions, one in each bedroom. The kitchen is huge, fully equipped, with espresso machine (and capsules).
The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The traditional village of Morano Calabro starts only 2' walk from the village.
The parking is free and easy in the neighborhood.

Writing a review for Il Nibbio Is not easy task and, no matter what I say, it will only give you a very partial idea of the place.
Our two night stay in our apartment, La Casa del Vasaio, was like going back in time: the house has been tastefully renovated, but it still retains the ancient magic of the place and the view from the balcony is simply out of this world.
Nicola and his brother Sandro are the perfect guests: friendly and very helpful, they'll go out of their way to turn our stay into something special both on the premises and also by advising on how to make the most of the surrounding area. Their cosy "Giardino" is where you might be initially welcomed or have your breakfast and is situated right below the ancient castle.
But "Il Nibbio" Is not just a B&B. The beautifully renovated old houses are an attempt to rescue not only the history of the place, but also the sense of community and purpose of the old days.
Sustainability and the desire to encourage the ingenuity and diversity of the local realities are at the heart of anything you will experience there.
The museum would be alone worth a visit, with an impressive private collection of animals and insects, beautifully arranged and displayed in some of the renovated old houses.

Il Nibbio was a lot more than we had immagined. We booked the apartment for 1 night to give us a break on our trip to Sicily and had just expected a bed for the night. It was so much more than that! Molano Colabro is an old italian hill top town, which the inhabitants have abbandoned. Nicola has various appartments throughout the town that he has restored and refurbished by recyling materials to create a fantastic, artistic experience that is like a museum of collectables. Il Nibbio actually has its own museum that you can visit, and a bar where you can have breakfast, as well as comune areas and rooms for groups to organize courses and events. Nicola is also available to give you tours and explain the concept behind the project. We really enjoyed seeing Il Nibbio and hearing about what Nicola is trying to achieve. Our kids loved the musuem with information on animals and insects from the area and really enjoyed seeing the artisitc objects throughout the town. It was a great find.

We strongly recommend Morano Calabro to any travelers who enjoy the ambiance of old village communities. The old Town in Morano Calabro is alive with friendly residents, little shops, local butcher, hair salons etc. We fell in love with the place. You can take the narrow twisty road to the Castello on the top of the hill but we enjoyed the walk. Enjoyed a 5 star lunch at restaurant L'Antico Borgo.

Morano Calabro is a very simple mountain village with steep roads and stairways leading to the Norman Castle at the top of the hill. The surrounding environment is spectacular especially the Pollino National Park. The church and abbey of San Bernadino is highly recommended.
