Absolutely beautiful gardens around the property. Staff were so friendly and such a nice family vibe. All staff were happy to help with any query. Special thank you to Luis who helped advise us the best way to get to Oaxaca and booked transport for us, took care of everything. Cocktails at the bar are really delicious. Location is great, nice and quiet while still being close to shops, lovely restaurants and the beach.

Great stay and friendly owner Diana. She arranged a super boat trip with Dolphins. Very comfortable room and bed with good Air Conditioning. Lovely little pool for a dip. A sweet, unpolished beach town. There are no huge multinational hotels on the beach, just low-rise local hotels and apartments. The strip along the beach feels relaxed, calm and slightly down-at-heel. It's easy to explore on foot. As two solo women travellers, we felt safe throughout our stay, though we didn't leave the tourist area. The beach itself is huge and very long, with incredible surf waves. There is a small beach area at the north end where it's possible to swim, but the waves are still quite big, especially for children. There are lifeguards all along the beach. There are nice restaurants right on the beachfront, all serving the same simple food. We only stayed two nights - I think at least four nights are needed to really relax and get used to the pace of life here. There are also several excursions nearby which would have been fun if we'd had more time!

A huge long beach, Zicatela is a lovely place but will change very soon with all the development and construction going on.
Already lots of bars, restaurants, shops and hotels, but still relatively chilled at the moment.
Beware of what you carry, police search anyone they can on the beach to extort money!!

Even if a relatively small town the neighbourhoods are very different; Centro where the hotel is, more local people, Bacocho (a bit more hipster was my impression), Zicatela the touristic part with a lovely beach and Brisas de Zicatela where its mostly backpackers and surfers (its just off Punta Zicatela where the best waves are)

It grew on me. I didn't love it at first.
It grew on me. I didn't love it at first. I think its more suited to younger people than people in their mid 40s + who have already done the backpacking thing. Also I live on a beautiful beach in Australia so it's hard to be impressed by grey sand of Zacatelas beach.. However Carrizalillo beach was beautiful. I recommend visiting that beach while you are there.
I felt like a bit of a sellout as Puerto is not the real mexico, there are more Australians and Americans there than Mexicans it seems. So if you want an authentic Mexican experience you should go to Puebla or Mexico city, but if your looking for a chilled vibe on the beach then you will probably like Puerto.
You'll find better food in other parts of the country also - Oaxaca city, Meixco city, Puebla etc.
It's very hot there. but there's nothing much else to do than hang at the beach.

Overall was great trip.
Overall was great trip. The town feels more international compared to other places I’ve visited in mexico, it lacks that authentic Mexican feeling. The hotel was great, tucked away from the Main Street, very peaceful.

Best falafels and hummus et El Sultan on the Rinconada.
Best falafels and hummus et El Sultan on the Rinconada. Best whole bean coffee as well as cappuccino and cookies at Binisa Cafe. As expats living in San Agustinillo, an hour away, we find things in Puerto that we cannot find in San Agustinillo, Mazunte, or Zipolite. We found some really excellent sharp cheddar cheese at Super 69 grocery on the Rinconada, cans of white meat whole tuna packed in water also at Super 69, bought beautiful Talavera tile for our bathroom at the Talavera store on the Rinconada, and picked up health food products like chia at one of the many small health food stores in Puerto that sell bulk goods.

Best location in Puerto Escondido and with the most friendliest staff possible! The rooms are very clean and comfortable with even a little livingroom. The pool is huge and the food is amazing! They also played very nice music in the bar and we will definitely come back!
If you want to have a quiet night and be on the best spot in Puerto Escondido, this is your hotel!
Close to many nice bars and restaurants, and next to one the most beautiful beaches in Puerto!
Second time staying here, with a lapse of 2.5 years in between visits. The hotel was exactly as we remembered it! Which we were happy about. Air conditioning worked well. Internet worked well. Swimming pool is small but enjoyable. In our opinion, this is the best neighborhood of Puerto Escondido. Near to the best swimming beaches. Near to good restaurants and the market. Everything you will need is not far and easily to find. We will return!
The view and ambiance!! we had the best view, our room was on the last floor, lots of stairs but the view was worth it. The hotel is very comfortable, our room was very spacious and clean, had a mini fridge which was not common in any of the other hotels we stayed in Oaxaca. The staff was friendly. The location was absolutely perfect! right across from the beach and in the middle of a lot of nice restaurants and shops.
La Hacienda was absolutely perfect for our 5 day stay in Puerto Escondido. A 5 minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches (Carazillo) and the main street with restaurants, and all other beaches within a 5 minute cab ride (very easy to grab a cab). The hotel itself is incredibly comfortable, thoughtfully designed, clean and spacious. Luis at the front desk was beyond helpful and made us feel at home.
It’s surprisingly quiet. My room was really close to the pool. In 3 days, I’ve never see a party. Guests were really respectful.
You will meet a lot of people from everywhere in the world in that pool. And thrust me! You will be happy to have it. PXM is fuckin’ hot!
A/C was perfect.
Wifi works well in “Mexico standard”
The room have a fridge. Big advantage. You will drink cold water and beer!
Our stay at Hotel Santa Fe was very nice. Rooms are comfortable, clean and with all the amenities. The beds could be a little more cushy, for the price you pay for the rooms, but I think this is the most common complaint, all around, when travelling in Mexico. The staff are very nice and very attentive and the location is very convenient and with lovely views of Zicatella beach, great for sunsets!
Booked 4 nights here and extended it to 3 weeks! Che Puerto Escondido is awesome. The staff really make the experience. They're all so nice and actually have fun at their jobs. You're guaranteed to have a good time at this hostel! Shout out to staff members Carla, Anita, Gido, Irrina, Bruno, Tavo, Andre, Juaquin, Majo, Rhea, and David for being amazing! I'll definitely come back again soon.
This place is amazing! The facilities are great and they have a pretty good swimming pool. The vibe at the place is super cool. They do BBQ’s some days and it’s super tasty. The staff is very helpful and super friendly. The location is very close the coolest area of the city. Definitely this has been the best we place have been in Mexico so far.
The hotel is new, well maintained, flawless staff, always clean and the rooms were cleaned every day. Clean pool. Huge rooms and beds, very comfortable also. Big balconies. We liked that it's adults only, was very relaxing having no kids around. All in all, the best hotel that we stayed in while visiting Mexico.
I had a wonderful stay and was impressed with the hotel and staff. Cindy, Ari, and Alejandro genuinely made me feel like so at peace and were all so attentive to my needs. The hotel is a short walk from playa carrizalillo, one of the most beautiful beaches in puerto Escondido. Great experience overall!
The place is very clean and modern. One of the cleanest hotels I been to in Mexico. Bed is comfortable. Hostess is great. The location is very convenient - in the center and right across from Chedraui, easy access to groceries and late night taquerias. Easy colectivo ride to rest of Puerto Escondido.
Everyone at the hotel was super friendly. I highly recommend trying Moni’s (the bartender) frozen mojito! The hotel is walking distance to a lot of restaurants in punta zicatela. I would highly recommend this place. I would consider staying here again if I come back to Puerto Escondido.
Very comfortable bed, nice clean spacious room. The owners spoke little english but were very helpful and let us check in early and also stored our bags after we checked out. Good air conditioning and hot water. One if the best rooms we stayed in during our visit to Mexico!
Proximity to the beach is nice. Its a relaxed place with a great view of the sea. Beds were comfortable. WiFi was strong (rare for México in my experience). Drinks and snacks were a really good price. The bar team were very friendly.
The hotel is brand new and has everything you need for a high-quality stay at the beach in Puerto Escondido. Our room was nice with a great view. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
Very nice and helpful staff, parking lot for the car, beautiful garden with a pool, nice and clean room, and they have a travel cot for the baby which is one in million in Mexico.
the room was wonderful. the bed was super comfortable. best shower in all of Mexico! very clean. AC was an added bonus. hotel is a bit out of the main area so nice and quiet
