Great location, lots of parking, nicely remodeled room from what the "frontier" room probably looked like years ago. Interesting decor in the halls. Good selection of TV channels.
Located 15 minutes’ drive from Cave Lake, this 100% nonsmoking Ely hotel includes free Wi-Fi and a free continental breakfast featuring hot waffles. Great Basin National Park is 62 mi away.

Great breakfast choices. Overall the hotel was totally adequate.
Front desk was very accommodating. Room was clean.
Front desk was very accommodating. Room was clean. Everything worked. Apparently the hotel is upgrading some rooms. This room didn't have a microwave but we asked the front desk and she brought us one immediately.

Ely is a small town with very friendly people.
Ely is a small town with very friendly people. There are multiple hotels to stay in, each with a slot casino. The town seems to roll up around 8pm but the casinos are 24/7 and resturants within them stay open a bit later.
The Great Basin national park is about an hour away and this would be where you would want to stay if you are visiting there as the town of Baker, where the park is located is very very small with only 1 shop and no gas station.
We came for the Northern Nevada Railroad experience and my dad drove a steam and deisel engine train there. This is a museum as well. The railway is truly the town's gem.
If you come for the railroad experience, take a day to drive to the National Park, and make sure you also visit the White Pine Museum if you like small county museums.
The people of Ely were all very kind and genuinely nice.
If you are just roadtripping the loneliest highway(Hwy 50) and drive through Ely, make a stop and check out the historical Hotel Nevada.

I love Ely, this is my 4th stay.
I love Ely, this is my 4th stay. I have always had a memorable experience. One thing I wish I could have enjoyed was the new art gallery and Mercantile downtown. We arrived after they closed and left before they opened. So cool hearing the train blow its whistle as it chugged through town as well. On a former trip we visited the White Pine museum and it far exceeded our expectations. Worth a stop, for sure!

Best place to stay in ely is the Pioneer and la Quinta.
Best place to stay in ely is the Pioneer and la Quinta. Really good food options here, I suggest margaritas inside pioneer for Mexican food and good friendly service. Nardis unfortunately closed... and the local restaurants are pretty good like Piccadilly pizza and the local steakhouse. The art museum and the connected store is a fun visit, the thrift stores are charming, highly suggest coming between fri-sat.

We loved the wide-open space, the handy access to the Northern Nevada Railway Museum, which was our reason for coming to visit. Totally loved the Renaissance Village as well and although we didn't get there, close to the Lehman Caves (next time) at the Great Basin.
The manager was very friendly and offered an excellent reference to a Chinese Restaurant that had excellent delicious dishes to eat. Don't let the outside appearance of the restaurant fool you. The meal was absolutely delicious with quick service despite being short-handed. The hotel had a very comfortable bed and the place was very clean...it's an older hotel, but the place was clean and staff was friendly and helpful....and priced inexpensive to lay down after a long day of driving. We definitely will stay here again.
All went well, the staff was good, I had booked online, however the weather forecast was calling for heavy winds and blowing snow, therefore we had asked to have our room rebooked to three days earlier, the booking agent refused to change our dates without paying for both dates. When we arrived at the motel the staff was very kind and accommodating and said we only had to pay for the one night, and suggested calling the hotel directly if this occurs agin in the future. We were very happy and relieved.
Absolutely love this hotel, very clean and quiet. Our first night we had a very noisy family above us, when we mentioned it to the front desk they moved us to another room and it was very quiet. Rooms are always neat, clean and well appointed. They are more expensive than other hotels in the Ely, NV area, but it's worth it for the smoke free, clean, quiet environment.
Good location. Rented room because their were 3 of us and it said 3 beds in room.
Had problems with my booking.com reservation. Hotel had not received it. Front desk female not very helpful and a bit of a sourpuss.
Male front desk guy much nicer.
Lady who was running your continental breakfast was a total sweet heart! So pleasant and kind!
Very personable young man when checking into hotel. Room was very clean and did enjoy that there was a table and two chairs in room. Even had a makeup remover wipe. Best part for me was that I was on the ground floor and was able to park directly in front of room. Great for loading and unloading car.
We needed a pet friendly hotel and this hotel guess above and beyond to provide rooms in a dedicated pet wing geared toward pet owners, including pet beds and dog treats in the room. The rooms are extra clean and very comfortable.
It was an older hotel but the room was spotless with all the amenities we needed. Comfortable bed and lots of pillows. After we checked in the manager stopped by with bottles of water and told us about the continental breakfast.
They supplied a bag-breakfast which we really liked because we could get it, heat it in the microwave in the lobby and then hit the road eating it on the way to the days activities. I think more hotels should do this!
It was a cute hotel with a jailhouse theme. Eating in the hotel restaurant where a table was like in a authentic jail cell. Very friendly staff, and the food was delicious! Very unique to enjoy this small town.
friendly staff, Good location, Pet friendly, Hot breakfast. Good area for pets behind building. Very refreshing to not be disappointed when you arrive at a hotel after a long day on the road.
I booked this hotel becsaue it was the cheapest I could find. I liked that it was cheap because it ended up being a waste of money as the acomodations were unacceptable.
the staff was very friendly. the room was excellent- love a Kuerig in the room. the Denny’s breakfast was so much better than most “breakfasts” at other hotels /motels!
Holiday Inn is always a safe bet when selecting a place to stay. Great location with a casino next door and not inside the hotel itself, which is greatly appreciated.
