Great and convenient location just a few steps away from Bencoolen MRT. The room was clean but fairly small - smaller than the images show, but still fairly comfortable. Cleaners here are friendlier than the receptionists.

Behind the bright lights of Chinatown is great value dim sum, while Little India is a sensation for the senses. Singapore is just a big built up city. I didn't like it when I lived there 30 years ago and now it's even more overdeveloped. It is a safe city and food is great so that's wonderful but I just don't find it interesting.

The hotel was located at a convenient location with decent services. The staff were friendly and assisted when required. I didn't eat at the hotel but preferred trying different food courts around Singapore to broaden my experience. In my next visit I would try using other means of transport apart from taxies. Overall Singapore is the ultimate destination , with so much to do and see. Each day is an experience of its own!

I have always come to visit Singapore , mainly for doing my small shopping. Singapore is one of the most clean Urban Cities to exist in the whole world. There are lots of interesting places to go to in Singapore City - if you do your research well enough.

Getting around is easy using Google maps.
Getting around is easy using Google maps. You can walk to most places, transport is also quite affordable especially the MRT. Food is everywhere, but quite cheap at the Hawker Centre's. The shopping is just great with many malls and street markets.

Taxi is a good way of transportation.
Taxi is a good way of transportation.
I would not visit Universal Studios and SEA aquarium anymore.
Compared with e.g. Los Angeles and Orlando they are really not worth the price. Besides that, too many attractions were out of order.
The location in downtown is ideal. The Shenton Way MRT station is nearby. Taxi is readily available outside of the lobby. We got upgraded to a suite which is probably bigger than an average apartment in Singapore. It came equipped with everything you can imagine including a full-size fridge with a freezer, washing machine, Nespresso coffee machine, cooking range & oven, and even a rice cooker! What else can one ask for!!!
It's a 5-star hotel without the 5-star price.
Highly recommended!
Elegant hotel on the bay & riverfront in Singapore, formerly a majestic post office. Heavenly bed, luxurious bathtub and separate rain shower, Toto bidet toilet, and in-room fresh drinking water tap. Central city location adjacent to Merlion, world-class hotel breakfast with plentiful pan-Asian, continental, fresh fruit, veg & pastry stations, plus numerous, welcoming, and bend-over-backwards-accommodating staff to tend to our every wish
No windows. I booked it as I was travelling solo and the price of hotels in Singapore is ridiculous. I was prepared not to expect anything much from Hotel 81, just some dodgy stares from other occupants who seemed high on some substance. I was prepared to hear thumping noises from around but it was unexpectedly quiet, which was good. I know the neighbourhood well as I grew up around there, good for solo self reflecting walks at night.
To be fair: to Singapore standards this hotel is probably OK-ish. Having said that, there are other large, expensive cities in the world.... While they are wonderful top end of the range hotels in SGP, its seems that medium market level hotels are really difficult to find. Clover is probably not ranking too bad compared to the peer group. In order to enjoy, you must be a huge fand of damp / poorly aired rooms and tiny rooms.
The staff were friendly. The location of the hotel is convenient - near restaurants/cafe, 7/11, and bus stop. Hotel was also clean.
Like most budget hotels in Singapore, the shower and toilet do not have a barrier, so the toilet can easily get wet after a shower. However, feel free to ask for an extra floor towel if needed.
Very helpful staff. I made a mistake with my booking and they sorted it out no problem. It was very close walking distance to the local underground and from there easy access to other locations. Room was clean.
This hotel is very good value for money considering the very high prices of hotels in the Singapore area.
Most hotels in Singapore are close to all transport and shopping malls and no exception to this hotel
Up graded to larger family room
Good reception staff
Large room/shower and comfortable bed
Hotel in older part of Singapore adding to the charm which I enjoyed
I’ve rated this hotel before, I’ll say it once and all say it again - I love it here. I always stay here when I have layovers going thru Singapore. Pool is great, gym facilities are basic but they got what you need! Lovely in room amenities.
Great location close to the Rocher MRT station and Little India. Good value for money (all hotels in Singapore are expensive!) Excellent pool, kept the kids entertained for hours on those hot sticky days. Breakfast was varied and excellent.
All the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was larger than most other hotels in Singapore (as far as we could find from our search). The bathroom was spacious. The pools were lovely, there is a great kids’ water play area.
This property was perfect for our purpose. It is affordable compared to other hotels in Singapore and was clean and comfortable. The location was very good and was less than a minute walk to the nearest MRT station.
Price is relatively cheaper than typical hotels in Singapore, location is good near Katong area where you can find a lot of good foods, the staffs have been quite kind and helpful too.
This is a great hotel , best location , very near to MRT. And especially nice people at reception. Totally worth it. Next time I go to singapore I will stay in Oxford hotel
The room was clean and appropriately sized for Singapore (small, but nicer bed than some similar priced hotels). Very great location, close to everything.
