The coffee machine was my friend. I borrowed a scooter for my stay from Takuya, just driving around the island adds to the atmosphere and the island has also the perfect size for it. Generally speaking, without any kind of transport possibility (scooter, (e)bike etc.) it will be hard to get anywhere on the island in a reasonable time. When it comes to alcohol Iki is known for Shōchū, but if you are interested in craft beer, there is a small brewery in Katsumoto called Island Brewery with very good beer. You can also get a few varieties at the big local supermarket near the hostel. And as always in a dorm room, sleeping depends heavily on your roommates, like snoring and so on.
