It was wonderful to drive down the road and see ahead a glimpse of the solitude we seeked for a weekend away. We were greeted by the lovely Wendy, who showed us the lay of the land, the room is so warm and inviting, straight away putting us at ease. I cannot recommend Tukawyl highly enough. I just wish we could have stayed longer.

Title: Unacceptable Stay - Mouse sighted in toilet and Unbearable Odor Rating: 1/5 "We booked this house for a night, but unfortunately, our stay was cut short due to a mouse which we noticed in the toilet but what put us off was a putrid smell from a dead mouse. The condition of the rest of the house was reasonably clean, except for the kitchen floor which was dusty. We were told that there was parking on site - but did not know that we had to park our loaded trailer and car in the driveway and assumed the garage doors meant we would have secured parking - this was a bit misleading. Despite our efforts to address this with the owner, she refused to acknowledge the issue and take responsibility. Our main concern was the smell of a decaying mouse and this was overwhelming as we could not bring ourselves to eat there. We had to find alternative accommodation at the last minute, which added to our stress and expenses. I would not recommend this property to anyone until the owner addresses these issues and takes necessary steps to ensure a clean and comfortable stay for guests. Warm and respectful hosts. Great deck with BBQ and dining area looking out over the bushland. It was too cold to use the pool, but it looked like it would be good in the warmer months. Fire heater was lovely and the scones on arrival were a nice touch. The apartment was clean and well presented and location was good for access to Australia Zoo.
