The Chalet Guesthouse And Studio, hotel in Medlow Bath

Offering free WiFi and free continental breakfast, the historic Chalet Guest house is centrally located in the Upper Blue Mountains.

This place is a gem! The owners are really welcoming and sitting by the fireplace on a cold afternoon was a treat. They know the area well and gave us great advice on places to go and things to do, which was especially helpful given that it was cold and raining during our stay. I highly recommend it and if we are ever in the area again, we know where we will be staying.

Palais Royale, hotel in Medlow Bath

This historic boutique hotel, in the heart of Katoomba-Blue Mountains, features 2 separate guest lounge areas, and a sauna. Complimentary WiFi is provided in all communal lounge areas.

Love the look of the place very much modern Michelle is a star - warm and welcoming upon check-in. Great recommendations of the area and what would be great for the evening. She definitely deserves a raise. The bed was comfy and the bathrooms were huge. The air conditioning worked a treat. We stayed in King Room facing the road. No road noise - a lot of ambient light due to the sign but the curtains blocked it out.

This is one of many lovely suburbs to stay in the Blue Mountains. Medlow Bath has a railway station, so you could easily walk to the accommodation at The Chalet and Guesthouse we just reviewed, or to the much more expensive Hydro Majestic. The Hydro has a nice cafe and a lovely outlook. And the tour of the hotel is great! But there are other alternatives for accommodation.

The Winter Garden Restaurant was excellent, we had two evening meals and a High Tea during our stay. We were disappointed The Boiler Room restaurant is only open for lunch and the Asian restaurant hasn't reopened since Covid 19 lockdown. Atmosphere is very good and lounges comfortable for reading and reflecting. History of the Hydro Majestic detailed in the Pavillion was interesting and some pleasant drives in and around the area. Rooms were comfortable and very clean and great pillows.

It is a beautiful area. VERY peaceful.

It is a beautiful area. VERY peaceful. There's lots to do around the area. Hydro Majestic is a wonderful place to stay. I absolutely loved it. Katoomba is an historical town to visit. Lithgow is an old mining town with old cottages very interesting. The Three Sisters is well worth the trip. You definitely need a car. The evening meal at the Hydro Majestic is outstanding. Just as good is the gorgeous buffet breakfast with the works!

    Quiet, Beautiful location.

Quiet, Beautiful location. Nothing much of interest in Medlow Bath with the exception of the Hydro Majestic itself but Katoomba & Blackheath are close by via a short drive or taxi. You’ll need those places for eating out or doing the tourist thing. Easy access to Sydney via the very handy train station

Breakfast options need to be explained at booking.

Breakfast options need to be explained at booking. This is a problem for booking.com to sort. Hydro-Majestic -a very pleasant stay -- recommended. I was not happy with "booking.com" when I tried to book Jenolan Caves House . Next time I will avoid using this site.

The property is gorgeous. Lisa has designed and decorated it beautifully and nothing is overlooked. The garden is a pleasure to spend time in, the bedrooms are beautiful and the living space a delight. We loved having a REAL coffee machine in the kitchen, filled with coffee beans ready to grind. Lisa herself was a great host and a great communicator. Simply a wonderful stay in the Blue Mountains - thank you.

The food in the Wintergarden Restaurant is excellent, the service is superb. Overall, the highlight of our 2 night stay was the hour long History Tour of the Hotel, done by front desk staff member James. It really made our stay memorable - he was a wonderful guide that knew every little detail of this magnificant property and the family that originally owned it. Well worth doing.

Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. The guest house with its amazing art, ceramics and ambiance was absolutely comfortable and lovely to be in. The cosy fire at night along with David's thoughtfulness were a real bonus. We felt at home but also felt private enough. We will definitely stay here again on out next trip to the Blue Mountains.

view from our room would have been superb if the weather had been better. The food was great and beautifully presented. Given that the rooms were small which we expected in this historic hotel, there were plenty of places to sit and read or just enjoy the views, around the hotel.

The hotel is beautiful. It was a heritage building so it does has this vintage feeling, but you can tell that they did a great job at taking care of the building. Both of me and my partner are really impressed by that, and also the hospitality of their staff is really on point.
