I drove to Whyalla to scuba dive with the cuttlefish; highly recommended!! The cuttlefish season is from May to August, there is nothing like it anywhere else in the world. The water is shallow so you can see the cuttlefish easily by snorkeling or taking a glass bottom boat.

Whyalla is a very different town.
Whyalla is a very different town. The hospital is extremely understaffed and can not cope with an emergency, also learned you can not give birth there. Very hard to find a good place to eat. Very small town so no vibe to it. The beach is covered in seaweed so not accessible for swimming. Was going to spend two nights there but one was enough. Couldn’t wait to leave, sorry Whyalla.

It was lovely to be given a cabin overlooking the sea at the Discovery park. Book one of these if you stay here. Great value. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The cabin had everything we needed.
The view from the look out was amazing. The round pier was great to walk on. Lots of shops and services in town.

Being born and bred in Whyalla returning to my home town and show my kids a grandkids around was wonderful there were lots of places to visit like hummock hill, my old school then the Whyalla show and HMAS Whyalla. Perfect stay lots of places to eat but we enjoyed the bbq down the beach in the rain. And home made rolls at hummock hill. Dolphins pelicans and seagulls galore.

We had a lovely walk around the wetlands that also had a nice coffee shop. The Maritime Museum with a tour over the HMAS Whyalla is well done. The Cuttlefish at Point Lowly during winter are great to see by either snorkelling or glass bottom boat. Travel down to the new jetty about 3:30pm when the fishing boats come in, for a close encounter with bottle nose dolphins. The night time view from Hummock Hill over the jetty and town is photo worthy.
There is a beautiful walk along the beach front and through Ada Ryan Gardens. The town has Woolworths, Coles and Foodland supermarkets.
Super clean and contemporary layout.
Loved the little kitchen bench, table and chairs.
Shower pressure and heat was excellent.
Keypad entry.
Hairdryer and ironing facilities available in the room.
Location was centrally based to walk to either side of Whyalla.
Heater worked well (but noisy).
Warm and cosy room, and the emenities provided was quality! What a self contained motel, it has a great bar, fantastic food in an enjoyable fun restaurant, a games room for the one arm bandits!
The location of the cabin was excellent, and the views were great, and Discovery Park Whyalla was very family oriented, I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.
A fabulous 1960s motel situated on the foreshore.
It is best accommodation in Whyalla.
Good coffee and food available in the centre of town - 2 minutes drive.
