Beautiful antiques litter this property and you don't feel like you can't touch anything.
Way too many chocolates to choose from in the bar fridge, chocaholics would love this place.
Half hour walk into the town centre at 6 am lots of stars out to look at, only a few dog walkers up at this hour, amply street lighting.

Small agricultural town, only an hour and fifteen minutes from Perth. Quaint old buildings from the late 1890's and early 1900's. Star gazing as light pollution is minimal. Lovely to walk around the old town and not feel rushed. Very quiet no loud music, pubs trucks or noisy street traffic. Lots of birds to keep you amused and plenty of short or long walks in the lightly treed bush land. Information Centre ladies give you good tips on things to have a look at. A beautiful place to stay at the beginning of Spring.
A beautiful place to stay at the beginning of Spring. Lots of historical buildings to see, lovely gardens and the river is flowing well. The York museum is well worth a visit. The Salvos have a great jumble sale, items are very cheap and good quality - worth the visit just for this! And you get free entertainment at the same time!

There are little shops and interesting places to visit in the town centre and its surrounds. I enjoyed my 2 days there. That was enough time for me. I suggest planning your day and looking at the opening hours of the places you want to visit as almost everything closes by 5pm. I suggest visiting the Old Flour Mill which has a cafe and an interesting collection of art and vintage items for sale. The old gaol is also worth a visit.LisaAustralia - 10Scored 10

York is a lovely old town not far from Perth metro area.
York is a lovely old town not far from Perth metro area. The locals are great. There are a few choices to grab a refreshing beverage from as well as art, history and antique shops to explore. Very easy to get around.KellyAustralia - 10Scored 10
An amazing Town steeped in history, excellent heritage...
An amazing Town steeped in history, excellent heritage buildings, surrounded by wonderful privately owned properties, being winter the countryside could be easily have been mistaken for any where in the English countryside. Dining out is not a problem with all tastes catered for in hotels and restaurants, all within easy walking.

The meals were superb so country hotel excellence. We also had the meal we purchased for the next night in the venue room. Again the food was amazing as we ordered a child's meal and thought again we were had a large adults meal. We did ask if they did "mini" meals but apparently not they seemed to think this was a small meal. Lovely staff and a great weekend thank you. We were with the Probus Leeming group.JeanAustralia

Our hosts were overwhelmingly generous with food, toiletries and snacks. The bed was comfortable and there was good WiFi. We felt happy to come and go as we pleased. The B&B is located on the edge of York so it is peaceful but quite a distance to walk into town and to restaurants.

It is a beautiful guesthouse and the hosts, Jo and Mike were extremely friendly and welcoming. Lovely lounge and dining area with fireplace separate from our private accommodation. There are gardens to explore and animals on the farm. Continental and cooked breakfast was delicious! It is a short drive into the historical town of York. Such a shame we only stayed for one night. Highly recommend!!

Decorated in a country charm way, really makes you feel like you’ve escaped “City life” for a bit. Animals and play area on property were a delightful bonus, kept the kids entertained for hours.
