Walking distance to my destination and the ships passing by in the canal were amazing

    A couple of nice restaurants (we enjoyed Tim Horton's and Donnelly's Pub), small, walkable, very pleasant town. Lots of construction on important roads while we were there, and detour signs aren't always accurate, so difficulty getting to Niagara and finding open entrance to QEW.

    The lock system was what drew me to Thorold but I enjoyed...

    The lock system was what drew me to Thorold but I enjoyed the town itself as well. I had dinner at places near the historic town center: Donnelly’s pub, where I had a great lamb stew, and breakfast at Hana’s which was friendly with good food. I found some nice shops in that area as well and some lovely homes and parks.

    The unit was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The furnishings were in very good shape. Bedrooms were of adequate size, not large. Two bedrooms had an ensuite bathroom, the other bedrooms had a separate shared bath. The area, fairly new townhomes, seem comprised of college age students. There are stores and restaurants in nearby Thorold and about a 30 min drive to NOTL.. We stayed the weekend to attend the ice wine festival and visit nearby wineries. Overall, we had a great stay and would come back again.

    The hotel rooms are spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable, the bathroom has obviously recently been updated. The location and balcony are ideal for watching the huge boats passing through Lock 7. The town of Thorold is charming. A special treat was discovering that on Friday evenings in the summer there is a “Ride Night” of vintage cars in the town centre. The staff were pleasant and very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

    The location was lovely. We enjoyed watching the ships go by. Wow, amazing engineering and huge ships. It was lovely weather while we were in Thorold. I liked the small scale of the Inn. I loved that we could open a window and a door window as well for fresh air. The balcony was nice but was really only for viewing of the action on the lock. Certainly only a two person sitting area.

    We enjoy old-school independent hotels and this one fits the bill. Older building but everything is neat, clean and well-kept. Larger than typical rooms, with balcony overlooking the Welland canal. Got to see a large ship pass through this am. Appreciate a place with real glasses and mugs. Beds were firm yet comfortable, with good pillows. Nice sunrise too!

    I stayed 4 nights in Thorold, and the hotel was perfect for a short-term stay. The hotel is very quiet with lots of privacy. The room and especially the bathroom is clean. The mattress is very comfy. I like their suite which is perfect for a family. The staffs are very friendly. Location is good - 15 minutes drive to St. Catherine and Niagara Falls.

    Walked in the door to be greeted by a big smile and a big hello. Location is fantastic if you love ships passing by while you sit back on the balcony to your room. It is close to NOTL, Niagara Falls and St Catharines. Downtown Thorold is picturesque. Very clean room. All in all, a great stay...will be back soon!!

    Location is close to the person I was visiting so that was convenient and the price was fair. Honestly the price was why I chose this inn. Hotel rates are over priced. Just needed a place to sleep. The ships going through the locks are a bonus! Carpets looked nice and clean and bathroom looked modern and clean.

    This is one of our favourite properties and we always stay here when we travel to this area. Everything is taken care of for the Hotel Guests and there is nothing not to like in this property. The Hotel Staff, are very accomodating and look after guests requests very energetically and promptly.
