Nice place for a quick stopover, happy they have big rooms for families, cleanliness was impeccable. Breakfast variety is good, even fresh eggs were made on request, staff is friendly, helpful and well organized.
Easy to reach from the highway and parking available onsite.
Small hint for optimization: Maybe another automatic coffee machine for Latte or Cappuccino would make a lot of guests happy 😉

The Landschaftpark is a fantastic park based on a truly industrial setting. The view from the top of the no.5 blast furnace is excepitional. It's free entry and is only a 1.90 euro tram ride from Hbf.
Wholesome food and their own beer from Brauhaus Webster completed a great day.

This is a place for all seasons.
This is a place for all seasons. The city is hospitable, multicultural and pedestrian friendly. It’s also very dog friendly. I noticed that dogs are allowed in the shopping malls and I saw dogs allowed in almost every shop including department stores.

I didn't go to Duisburg to see the city.
I didn't go to Duisburg to see the city. I went to see the opening night of the opera house's production of Wagner's opera "The Flying Dutchman". The musical and dramatic standard was very high, and it was a most memorable cultural experience. It is not just a beautiful opera house, it offers many fine productions year round. The city is only about 10 minutes from Dusseldorf airport, so easy to get to.
Apart from the Opera House (Theater Duisburg) I can't think of any other reason I would want to visit Duisburg. Pity that Booking.com does not list the opera house as the major cultural venue worth commenting on.

The harbours are awesome.
The harbours are awesome. I have never seen so many ships, cranes , containers in an inland harbour . Really good cycling paths, easy access to the Rhine and Ruhr. Good restaurants. I recommend Mykonos in Meiderich. Very friendly people. Some parts are in need of modernisation. Public transport very good.

What a horrible city!
What a horrible city! I’ve travelled all over Germany, visited at least 50 towns and cities, but I hadn’t been to Duisburg yet, so I figured I’d give it a go. Don’t bother! Apparently it’s one of the poorest cities in Germany and it shows. What a dilapidated, sad city. Even in the city centre there’s buildings that are falling apart, so many empty and abandoned storefronts. Inhabitants of the city appeared sad and bored as well, not exactly the friendliest folks in Germany. Not worth a visit, except for the amazing and free Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord. Definitely hit it up for a visit of an hour or two if you’re in the Ruhr area, it’s worth the drive or ride by public transit, but don’t bother with the rest of the city.
The staff is super friendly and helpful, felling welcome there. The hotel is quite modern designed, the rooms are quiet, useful and clean; like the shower even the bathroom is a bit small. The free Wifi is good in the room and speedy. For business traveler definitely to recommend and an ok value.
Nice and clean location near the highway to stop during a long trip across Germany. We could park our car for free in a fenced area near the hotel.
We had a superb wiener schnitzel in Webster Brauhaus, which is located a few hundreds meters from the hotel! Really worth the walk!
Excellent hotel. Staff was very friendly. We stayed in the apartment, which was really large and well equipped. Good German breakfast, we enjoyed the breakfast room and the old-fashioned crockery.
The hotel is close to the U-Bahn to central Duisburg. Recommended!
The hostess provided extra help and information about local conditions, for me as a student just arrived in Germany, obtain a hospitable reception, a really warm experience in fact. Although the hotel facilities are not the best, the hostess is very friendly.
We arrived in Dusseldorf for the exhibition. The location of the hotel turned out to be excellent in relation to the exhibition center. Close to the hotel, Great restaurant. The rooms are clean. Service is pleasant. Breakfast is good. Recommended.
The hotel is not far by walk from the central station (about 15 min). The room key was left for me so that I could come after check-in hours (thank's for that!). The room is basic but spacious enough and clean.
The most ideal location, right infront of the Hauptbahnhof and a cinema, corner shop a few doors down, Aldi and Lidl right down the street and the main shopping center and town square only a 10 min walk away!
Everything was perfect. Whatever you may require, it is there. Each time I needed, the owner support was simply outstanding. Should I come in Duisburg again, I'll be back here for sure.
I always like the location right by the station and it is much nicer than the Ibis (which I think is called something else now). Duisburg is very easy to reach from Düsseldorf Airport
Location was 15 minutes from Duisburg center. We enjoyed our stay and fit our family of 3 more than comfortably. Host was very helpful and communicative. Would stay again!
The staff was so helpful & organized a late check-in through a partner hotel. The communication was fast & easy. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Akazienhof!
The guest friendly nature and absolute welcoming, it was our second and will be coming back again soon. Ützi is the best and a role model for Hotel services.
Nice pool although restricted in size the kids loved it!
It was clean and staff where friendly
