I went to Oberhausen for a concert, the concert was at the end postponed but we got to walk through the centrum streets and visited the Westfield Mall which is super awesome and has a lot of shops! It's a small city so we also went to Essen.

We were here to visit a friend.
We were here to visit a friend. When he was working we were rather "stuck", for there was construction being done on the train line and leaving the town to go to the Rhine was not a reasonable option. We did a lot of walking the Oberhausen neighborhoods. The city is a place for people to live, not necessarily a touristic destination. We did eat at some delicious restaurants, including Salvatore for Italian and the Hotel Gdanska for Polish. There was an interesting exhibition of Michael Ende and his art of storytelling at the Palace.

Oberhausen is part of a metropolitan area with lots of theme parks and other stuff to do concentrated in the area. Our accommodation was approximately 15 minutes, in any direction from these theme parks and the Sea Life aquarium. A visit to Oberhausen is definitely going to happen again in the near future.

I went to the centro allee/westfield area.
I went to the centro allee/westfield area. I can not tell you about the actual city/old part. I highly recommend the gasometer museum and the topgolf. Other than that there is also sea life and lego land in the area. The shopping center is really big, everything is there. There were some bad restaurants but also some really good! Highly recommend L’osteria.
We used the lime bikes/steps as transportation, which added extra fun to our trip. I think this area is perfect for shopaholics, family with children or young people my age (15-35)

You need to pay a visit to the Schloss, its art gallery, and its garden.
Also not to be missed are the Gasometer, some shopping at Centro, and a walk in Volkspark.
Specially do not miss the sunset by the Rhine on a summer day.

loads to see and do around Oberhausen, this hotel is right next to the arena/stadium/music venue also the Centro Oberhausen, tram stop just over the road so no drivibg neede, overall a good hotel
The hotel is hardly 10 mins by foot from the Central Station and less than 30 mins by bus from the Gasometer and the rest of the tourist attractions. There is a shop right outside. The room was bigger than we imagined for three ppl, spacious and comfy, it had everything we needed, even a bottle of water. Breakfast was only 4.5€ but it was the perfect buffet and everything tasted good. Great place!
Location is super close to the CENTRO shopping mall and kerstmarket.
It's separated from the main road a bit but even though no disturbing sounds or smells or whatsoever.
Pet friendly, no parking fee and a lot of space even for BIG cars (obviously not tracks).
Personnel is friendly and English speaking. We were late on breakfast, but there were plenty of food and shortages were fulfilled fast.
Overall, the hotel is decent with a good variety of breakfast options, though the evening buffet is quite pricey at 30 Euros. The beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is small but clean and satisfactory. The only drawback was the rooms' plastic mechanical light switches. Unfortunately, I had a neighbour who kept turning their light on and off every 30 seconds, which was extremely annoying.
This hotel is absolute awesome, big rooms, and very clean, the bathroom is so beautifull and big that you would love to stay here a long time. The Hotel is very clean, breakfast is very good, a wide selection of food.
I would stay here again, so everyone if you visit Oberhausen this is the place to stay.
Great location to the Turbinenhalle and public transport.
Clean and comfortable. Fairly priced.
Restaurant available with good quality and good prices "gut und günstig"... Really good option on a Sunday since mostly everything is closed.
Big room; coffee maker, microwave, sink, fridge, basic utensils and tableware in hallway of the room; air ventilator in the room; close distance to centre of Oberhausen and Oberhausen train station; Bus stops next to the hotel.
nice big comfortable and very clean room.
I highly recommend the nearby Thai restaurant.( direction to several restaurants provided by hotel staff as they currently do not offer diner service)
Parking garage next to property
Nice personnel, good breakfast and great location if you enjoy shopping since the Centro shopping mall is just across the street. Immediately outside the hotel parking lot is a Shell station with inside a KFC.
Nice staff tried to be helpful. The missing bed was arranged quickly.
Our booking request was honoured.
Close to centro, aquapark and aquarium, also shops nearby. Free parking at the hotel.
Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good value for money. Location is easily accessible by car and there was more than enough parking spots. Hotel furniture was old but clean.
We got a message from the host with the instructions how to use the lock box and the code. It was pretty simple to get it and more flexible than a hotel without a help desk.
All you need for a short stay , it is relatively new hotel. Everything is clean, bed is very comfortable ! Location is great , a lot of entertainment in surrounding areas.
The location is very close to the train station, very easy to reach and silent place. The apartment is not altjough Oberhausen was very cold during our trip.
If you are interested to shop at the Centro Mall, then this is a good location. The hotel was VERY clean and the breakfast was excellent value for money
