The location is perfect if you want to visit Herenchiemsee Palace - which was the reason I stayed here - so that I could visit the palace the next day. It's just yards away from the pier where you take the boat to the island. While here I ate dinner at the restaurant & was very pleased with the food & service. The room was nice, breakfast was good, and there was parking on site, which made this the prefect choice.
Located on the banks of the beautiful Chiemsee, this hotel offers cozy accommodation, a restaurant serving regional cuisine, and a beautiful lakeside terrace.

The place was lovely, with all the necessary. The geographic situation is perfect, near the train station and the lake. The sauna was great !
This Bavarian-style guest house is centrally located near the market square in Prien am Chiemsee, the largest town on the lake.

An excellent location for visiting the town of Prien am Chiemsee. A short walk from the train station and there are many cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The walk to the Chiemsee ferry also wasn't too bad (maybe about 2 km). We also enjoyed a nice hike in the area (there are maps available at the nearby tourist info office). The fridge in the room was also an added bonus.
A really nice resort town. The boat trip to Herrenchiemsee is a must along with a tour of the palace. If you have the right weather be sure to swim in the lake - wonderful and refreshing. There is a good selection of restaurants. A beautiful location to visit.

I stayed here because I wanted to visit: Herrenchiemsee New Palace. The faux Versailles that King Ludwig built. Here are some things you should know before you go:
1. The Ferries. The ferries run on their own schedule. They do not take into consideration tour times, or opening times for the castle. They are unrelated. Also you supposedly buy a ticket for the ferry on the ferry but no ticket kiosk on the boat was open. So we ended up not paying. No one else paid either, maybe they worked on the island? It's very unclear. Everyone we asked about things is pretty unhelpful
2. The Castle. The ticket kiosks for the castle are by the ferry dock. They open at 9AM. The first tour is at 9AM. However the dock is about a 15 minute walk from the castle. You cannot buy a 9 AM ticket there and make it to the castle. So if you want to do a 9AM tour book online.
3. The castle tour is good, you can only see the rooms with a tour the tour lasts about 45 minutes. You can get tours in English or German.
4. Everything opens when it wants. The gift shop opened at 10AM the fountains were off then they were on then they were off again. The cafe also opened maybe at 10?
In short. My advice for how to best visit the island:
Buy tickets for the 9AM tour (it's in German but it's the first tour); take the 8AM ferry that will get you on the island at about 8:15 (you might have to pay for the ferry or not it depends how much they care, which seems to be not much); walk to the castle so you get there around 8:45, take some pictures, check in for your tour. If you are the only ones on the tour (since getting 9AM tickets at the boat dock is not possible) then they might just do the tour in English for you since no one else is there. Walk back, take, pictures, visit the museums,
It's not a great system to visit what is ultimately an interesting palace. Hope this helps someone. I found getting information on all of this very hard and contradictory.

special highlight is the breakfast buffet.
special highlight is the breakfast buffet. Much exceeded my expectation with the variety of the offers in both salty and sweet. Additionally our room (and as far as saw, each room) has a large balcony for a lazy isolation. The Spa area is open until 10pm. That was a good fit to our needs as wanted to take it easy in SPA area after a long day.

It is a beautiful place, the combination of the lake and the mountains in the background is fantastic. Location of the lake offers both relaxation, bathing in the lake, quiet walks around the lake or relaxed cycling in the flat landscape or active holidays thanks to the nearby mountains.

We had a lovely and spacious room with a large bed and a delightfully appointed small sitting area with a sofa, comfortable chair, and coffee table. We also had a large balcony offering views of a gorgeous rose garden and, through a few neighboring buildings, even a glimpse of the Chiemsee itself.
The hotel pool was inviting and fun for our child.
The restaurant was exceptional, truly a 4-star meal.
The staff were friendly and accommodating.
The hotel appeared to be welcoming to pets (the owners have a dog).
The localisation is very goog, you can't get closer to ships going to Chimsee Castle, but it was totally out of season and there was no issues with parking. I guess during summer it can get very noisy and crowded there. The room was spacious. Beds comfortable enough. The service in restaurant was very friendly and food was pretty good too - you could get Kasespetzle or some other bavarian meal, although prices were not low. Overall ok.
We enjoyed a comfortable stay at Hotel Pension Lindenhof. The manager was friendly and welcoming and provided a very useful visitor pass which allowed us to use local buses without charge. No breakfast is provided but there are a couple of local bakery/cafés which have a variety of breakfast offerings. Restaurants for other meals are 10-15 mins walk away in the town centre. Drinks (payable) are available in the hotel kitchen area.
The food in the restaurant was tasty - I had the vegetarian yellow curry, which I would recommend, and the breakfast was good the next morning.
The (deluxe?) single room I had was comfortable with a good view - it just wasn't the double room I had booked and been charged for.
TIP - if you are travelling by train and need a taxi, book it before you arrive. I had to walk to the hotel in the snow with my case.
easy check-in, very friendly staff; I forgot my pants in the hotel they mailed it back the next day AFTER I called them. Why did they not call me I asked as I was all day in the neighbourhood and could have come over and picked it up.... well, they told me they want to give the guest the most privacy possible, so they don't contact you and wait till they are contacted....
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, as I wanted to take the boat to the island the next day to visit Herrenchiemsee Palace. The boat area was a minute away on foot. We chose to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant, and the food was fantastic! I was also able to park at the hotel, which was nice.
The property was great and it is well located which made reach the center and chiemsee pretty convenient. It was very clean and well maintained and had all required utilities. The host were just amazing , super nice and friendly they even gave us some tips we asked on places to explore. really enjoyed our stay here on our holiday.
Fantastic location, on the lake, with its own private marina and 10 drive min from the highway. Rooms are big and clean , nothing to complain. Nice spa with big enough indoor swiming pool. Good breakfast ( and available till 11am, good ideea). Bike rental service available at the hotel.
Despite the compact room, it was clean and surprisingly comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast, catering to all dietary preferences, was outstanding. The hotel's lakeside location is perfect for scenic walks. Overall, a luxurious experience!
This family-run hotel in the lake and only walk to city center town where everything ,the rooms was very cozy and have all facilities, I did enjoy so much in my stay also cause kevin and his wife are wonderful people and very humble ,I will definitely come back .😊🌺
The hotel is located in 2 minutes from Chiemsee - the big and beautiful lake, so it's the first and the biggest advantage. The staff was friendly and helped with everything. The breakfast isn't something special, but good enough to start a day
Very nice, dog friendly and clean hotel. We were offered a free upgrade which was lovely. The rooms are modern and comfortable. Breakfast is vast and the quality and quantity is excellent.
I would return and stay longer.
Excellent location 5 minutes walk from Chiemsee, 15 minutes walk from Prien. Rooms and bed comfortable. Free parking on site for guests, excellent restaurant, good communication with hotel.
The hotel is enormous, but still feels comfortable. There are two restaurants at the property and the food was good, the local fish was memorable! Great breakfast! And a nice swimming pool.
