This is a gem in the heart of beautiful, historic Fougères! Everything was lovely and the host super responsive. Kitchen was well-equipped and coffee/tea a nice touch. Toilet and shower/sinks are in separate rooms on the middle floor. Parking was free and right outside the front door. It was super quiet at night.

Beautiful views and friendly owner Lucile who makes an incredible breakfast! A gem in Fougères. Note no parking on a Fri nite due to an excellent market day (Sat morning in front of the hotel. However, public free parking not far away. We loved our stay. Try for a balcony room. The hotel is on an hill that overlooks the castle. Terrific value. Would definitely want to stay again.

The city center is very nice.
The city center is very nice. I's organized with care and love. We didn't have time to visit the fortress but it looked very impressive from outside. The city park is very beautiful, nice and calm. A nice place for a walk.

Beautiful historic city. We were just passing through, but discovered a really picturesque town to which we would gladly return. Off season for us, so the castle only had restricted opening hours, but the walk around the outside was more than adequate. Plenty of free parking around town.

Lots of fantastic views and old stone buildings. A well signed posted walking route covers all the places of interest in an easy way. Still worth visiting in depths of winter. Fougeres is a medium sized historic town with an incredible medaeval castle, lovely architecture and good restaurants and shops. The location is also accessible to interesting towns and villages that are well worth exploring. My husband and myself stayed for three nights to break our onward journey and thought this was about the right length of time to spend there. We would definitely recommend it.

The view from all of the windows was incredible over the castle, especially in the morning. Great nights sleep, much needed after a long drive. The breakfast was extensive and delicious and more importantly homemade. Great location overlooking the castle and a short walk to the medieval quarter. Free parking nearby. Saturday morning the market is on next door with fabulous range of local produce. C'est magnifique.

The proprietor is very welcoming and speaks English, and she made us a very delicious breakfast spread in the beautiful dining room. The shower has hot water with great pressure (perfect!) and the bed was very comfortable and we slept quite well - perfect after a long day of driving and sightseeing.

Because we had not thought to reserve a parking space in the hotel garage, we took our vehicle to a nearby parking facility, which was free. It was convenient enough! Even though we did not explore the city to the maximum, we recognized its charm. The view from the public park is worth seeing, for example.

Like living in a country house 100 years ago. It with a very nice bathroom. For breakfast the owner serves milk, eggs, and other products from her family’s farm.
