The location was excellent, the host was just so lovely and the breakfast was superb quality food. I have never tasted eggs like it. Good pub food just along the road.

Bar & restaurant for dinner and breakfast was fantastic. Food was very yummy and their own house summer gin delicious. Perfect views at the rear of the building. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Fantastic little building in an excellent location for exploring Cornwall and devon. Bedroom was basic but comfortable and clean. Would happily stay again.

On a road trip through Devon and Cornwall to see gardens and historic homes, we found the grounds and the common rooms of the hotel to be lovely. Keep in mind - those are free to see and do not require an expensive stay. A few glitches during the stay were later written to the hotel management who took the time to respond with apologies for the concerns and used those to help prepare for future guests. I would suggest taking the time to look at the website for room choices and consider booking directly with the hotel where staff can answer questions on costs, accommodations and expectations.

Absolutely amazing views. Very comfortable cottage. And delicious breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly
A relaxing country setting with friendly and helpful staff.
A relaxing country setting with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was outstanding and the perfect way to start the day. My room facing the front of the hotel was quite noisy, with traffic passing early in the morning, which was surprising considering the rural location. Take ear plugs with you and you’ll be fine.
Dog poo on the lawn in the garden was a definite low point especially as I had my young granddaughter with me. Dog owners please take note and clean up after your pet.
Initially looking for two hotel rooms and Little Bere appeared on the listings. It seemed a good value option on the booking site and in reality completely exceeded our expectations. It was a well equipped and tastefully decorated two bedroom flat. Although we picked the location for convenience to meet a friend it proved to be a very central location touring out to the N and S coast. Need to find an excuse to go back now.
P.S Don't forget to check the fridge loaded with a welcoming pack of local scones, cream and jam
Breakfast and all food excellent. Staff excellent. Atmosphere friendly and authentic. Large dining room lovely. Sitting room pleasant. Bedroom fine rather than exceptional. General fishing vibe up my street. Garden nicely kept. The hotel is doing a great job keeping the spirit of this place up and has done very well to attract and retain really good staff in difficult circumstances, particularly since the drought conditions have reduced the fishing clientele for the moment
Delicious breakfast, could be flexible on choice & very tasty! Very nice coffee. Great deli cafe attached to hotel for more coffee, cakes etc. Food delicious, home made rolls for example. Location good, although on main road running through village, but traffic not noticeable. Great village shop/post office 2 mins walk away.
We have stayed here before and as my family live in Lifton it is a very convenient base for us to use.
The river side location is very quiet and picturesque, we often stay out of season so have not really used the outside very much but in summer it is a lovely place to sit.
The rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel was in a good location with plenty of parking and a lovely garden. The hotel had been refurbished to an excellent standard.
The bed was very comfy ,it's a lovely traditional hotel, very peaceful, even liked not having tvs in the room, breakfast brilliant, tesla chargers was our main reason for staying
Everything and anything was perfect, lovely clean spacious room, delicious breakfast and friendly welcoming staff. I cannot recommend this lovely little hotel enough!
