Exceptional cosy B&B in a beautiful, quiet area of Patterdale. Lots of great walks nearby and the barn itself is on a beautiful piece of land with its own Wool shop, and sheep in the land. Thoroughly enjoyed the tasty breakfast, with such a great choice of fruits, yoghurts, full English, cereals etc. The beds are very comfortable, had the best nights sleep and the rooms are great size and done to a high quality standard. The owners are great, so friendly & welcoming & really go out of their way with small extra touches, like freshly baked cake on arrivals. Would 100% recommend buying their deli grazing boards, very delicious and great value for money!

Wonderful service. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Staff all friendly and helpful. Food at breakfast was amazing! Location was perfect for walks and exploring small towns.
Great hotel with friendly hardworking staff. Ideal base for walking surrounding fells, and close enough to Glenridding with ulswater also a short walk away. When here you feel like you have escaped the crowds and can relax, definitely be coming again.

Patterdale sits at the rugged end of Ullswater, and offers access to Helvellyn, High Street, and other peaks of truly astonishing beauty. The hiking in this part of the Lakes is strenuous and at times difficult, so visitors should be prepared for that. But the views are worth every step.
Patterdale itself is quite small, with a hotel, a pub, and then the Brotherswater Inn a little up the road. You'll need time to get around and time for meals and drinks. It's not a place to move fast, but it is a perfect place to stop and breathe.
Plan your hikes carefully, consult with local staff, and check the weather.

It’s truly a breathtaking stunning location . The hills and mountains are superb , the air so fresh. It’s serine and relaxing, highly recommended to restore your batteries so to speak . Wonderful to step outside the hotel and walk around the edge of the lake and take in the views.
One or two shops up the rd at Glenridding cafe’s and restaurants. Boats for hire on the lake .

Patterdale is not Keswick or Windermere.
Patterdale is not Keswick or Windermere. The scenery is spectacular and a haven for walkers of all capabilities and water sports. We found the area beautiful and like being abroad. Definitely will be coming back to walk and do some fishing. We made our way to the White Lion pub which is a focal point for both visitors and locals serving excellent food and a variety of local beers.

A great Lakeland village with Glenridding a short walk away.
A great Lakeland village with Glenridding a short walk away. Between the two villages they offer a selection of shops and pubs/hotels. There are countless walks and fells straight out of the door of your hotel. Ullswater in nearby and offers great water sport activities or just boat cruise for the less adventurous.
It is the first place we have stayed since lockdown and we couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable weekend. It is a situated in a beautiful and peaceful location but not too far from Patterdale and Glenridding. The staff are all without exception welcoming and friendly, we had an evening meal both nights which was delicious and both mornings we had a filling cooked breakfast that kept us fuelled for most of the day. We can't wait to book again for the Autumn, all being well.
Our hosts were simply fantastic! They made sure that we felt really good throughout the whole stay. On top of that the breakfast was plenty.
The location was absolutely fabulous with a royal view from the room.
If the purpose of the journey is to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the best spot to choose as opposed to staying in a hotel.
Everything was perfect! I would definitely visit again!
Only food available on first night after travelling all day was a 3 course meal. No other choice. No availability of light snacks. Room OK with en suite facilities. Food OK but dining room always seemed to be very busy and noisy. Breakfast buffet allowed you to get what you wanted. A real centre for walkers with excellent views from hotel. Staff very good.
Amazing location and great staff on our first nights stay here at the Patterdale hotel. The food is exceptional and the breakfast is top quality. The rooms are spacious and accommodating with some of the comfiest beds available for a great nights sleep. I would love to visit the lakes again and if I do this is the place I will stay.
The breakfast was good, buffet style with full english etc.
The location is fantastic, although not much to do on a night unless you walk to Glennriding. The hotel itself has a good bar, and there's a decent pub around the corner called the white lion.
The WiFi is also decent surprisingly, around 30Mb/s where we were located.
We stayed for two nights here. The staff were very nice. The area around the hotel is quite pretty and the lake is close. There is also a pub just down the street where you can go for drinks or dinner. The breakfast at the hotel was quite nice and included eggs done several ways which we appreciated.
Set in a gorgeous location views were amazing. The outside seating area was great for having a drink and we were so lucky it was perfect weather. It is a very old hotel but has character and the staff were very friendly and gave great service. Breakfast was really nice good choice and plenty to eat.
Perfect Location for trip into the fells high or low and less than 5 minute walk to Patterdale itself. Staff friendly and welcoming. Plenty of tea and coffee in room so could make up flask for the day. Enjoyed the view from the room and that it was by the river. Drying room also very handy.
Great location near to the facilities of Patterdale and Glenridding Lovely room with great shower The water is so soft and creamy it’s difficult to get rid of the soap! The breakfast was delicious and service speedy and friendly
The staff the hotel and the setting are all absolutely amazing. We were taken great care of and the food was to die for. I highly highly recommend this hotel to anyone spending time here in Glenridding.
the location was amazing,a beautiful quiet spot away from main roads but only by a couple of minutes away from patterdale and glenridding,we would definately go again
