The staff were fantastic, we called ahead and asked for an early check in as we were getting ready for a wedding that day and they sorted it all out for us which was such a huge help! Rooms were lovely and parking was very easy.

The room was basic but clean and comfortable, good shower but bathroom very confined, no toiletries provided other than towels and toilet rolls, tea and coffee available, bottom line friendly staff, good value for money in that all I needed was accommodation for the night.

We chose the area because of its associations with Thomas Hardy; the cottage where he was born, the church where he was baptised, sang in the choir and where his heart is buried (possibly inside a cat.)
Dining in both pubs in the amazingly stretched out village, The Thimble and The Piddle Inn, also the Royal Oak in Cerne Abbas.
You need a car to get around as there's no bus, apparently.
Dorchester is the nearest town and the Cerne Abbas Giant is only about 3 miles away. Jurassic Coast and dinosaus along with Durdle Door attract crowds.
