Breakfast was good, location and grounds are lovely. The night porter was a life saver at 2am in the morning when I had a really bad toothache! And the woman who we dealt with at the front desk the morning after our stay was great!

Beautiful, spacious bedroom with a four poster bed and copper bath. Breakfast was delicious. Setting is stunning with gorgeous views over manicured fields. We stayed for a wedding nearby which started early and we’d be there until midnight so we’re concerned about how we’d checking but the staff were very accommodating and kind, allowing us to pick up a spare key at breakfast time and dropping our bags in our room for our return. The wedding meant we didn’t spend a tonne of time in the room although the generous 11am checkout time did mean we had a some time on the morning to relax before leaving. Would definitely like to come back and enjoy it in full.

Hotel 52 was superb. Staff friendly and accommodating.
Hotel 52 was superb. Staff friendly and accommodating. Any information requested was given with ease. The restaurant is shared by the hotel and another bisiness. Hotel 52 uses it for breakfast, you hekp ypurself to cereal, pastries, yoghurt, fruit juice and coffee. Tea is available on request as is your cooked breakfast, toast and jam. Staff will even make you more if requested. On a evening the restaurant is run by another company - we were very disappointed with this, they dodn't serve the full menu and the staff were rudr and jad an unacceptable attitude. However this dod not reflect on the excellent service offered by thr Hotel.
The location was stunning, and I would love to return in the summer to see the garden in colour. This would add to the grandness of the setting.
Inside the adaption to a hotel was tasteful and sensitive, the rooms had the height and elegance of a grand hotel. The windows seat in our room added to its charm.
Initially, the access to the restaurant was unusual, crossing the courtyard, but soon realised this was a necessity for the stables and hall to be kept true to their architectural original plan.
We visited here because we was going beamish music museum for the weekend so perfect location.
But at the hotel we was made to feel so welcome. The beds was comfy and it was clean.. the breakfast was delicious nothing was too much for the staff.
The owners was fabulous with us and we can’t wait to return. It felt very homely throughout.
The locals in the pub was also very friendly and the entertainment was brill too.
the hotel is very rustic and pleasing , very busy on the Tuesday we were attending for a wedding, the staff were very helpful polite and helpful. we had a first floor room , which was rustic with antique style , modern bathroom with a very powerful shower, and products to use , fluffy white towels and dressing gown.air conditioned rooms. breakfast the next day was divine . got to say the food is exceptional .
I would like to say a big thank you to the hotel manager Susan for her total professionalism in meeting and greeting clients.
The staff and even the pub regulars are very friendly making you feel very welcome
I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting a great hotel and a great price
Will defiantly be back
Thanks again for making me and my wife so welcome
Really beautiful location, the rooms were gorgeous as was the bathroom. A real little gem of a hotel. We dined next door in the pub which was super handy. We stayed here as we were dropping our son to University in Durham and the Durham hotels were already full. It worked a treat for our son's early timeslot to access his room. Really pleased with our stay, thanks.
Stunning grounds and entrance.
Clean and modern.
Lovely restaurant with nice staff.
Ease of access.
Hotel staff were so accommodating- Susan and Alex really made it such a a wonderful experience.
The highlight was the night porter who ran all sorts of errands for us in the morning. He was a legend but we didn’t get his name!
loved this hotel, we booked a standard double which although smaller than I expected it had air conditioning and a good sized bathroom with a bath which was great. the best thing was the food at stable’s restaurant. really good food and good value. loved the cocktail menu as well.

The staff were wonderful, the best asset of this hotel! So friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was great, again the morning staff couldn't be nicer. The bed was comfy, and windows opened wide, so we could stay cool in the heat.
The room was ok basic . bed was comfortable. Parking easy.
Staff were very good with helping bringing fan milk etc . Turns out our booking wasn’t on the list luckily they were not busy and had space. Not far from beamish as was the purpose of the trip
Great hotel. Stayed for one night for a wedding party, stayed in the Swan Cygnet, room was very spacious and very clean, air con, large tv on wall. Bathroom was very good with toiletries provided.
Check in was very smooth and very helpful staff
Location and property are great as a value. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Stables bar is nicely appointmented. Function rooms large and grand. Food service for wedding was exceptionally well drilled and efficient.
Excellent accommodation in small en suite room in what was formerly the stables for the Inn. Parking by the room. Very friendly pub with good beer. Smashing breakfast. SPAR shop directly opposite. Highly recommended.
The staff where really helpful, professional and accommodating. The locals where lovely had a good chum wag with them upon my arrival back at the hotel after a family wedding. Fmi felt very safe and welcomed in.
