the dinner and breakfast were excellent as were the staff. I was only diappointed at how old fashioned the rooms were, perhaps some people would describe it as quaint. The location is simply top

Very clean hotel, nice swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms, great location, great breakfast.
Neidin is the Irish word for Kenmare and translates to Little Nest. A Little Nest is exactly what was envisaged in 1790 when The Lansdowne first opened its door.

A beautiful peaceful location with lots of options for outdoor activities. Wonderful scenery & unique experiences. Check out the best in local artisan foods, Irish hospitality & to brush up on the Irish language.
Gougane Barra is an exceptional place for the location of course but the hotel is also gorgeous, the personal and the owner are lovely and very warm and they make you feel at home straight away. The restaurant was delicious, everything was thought to details, cooked to perfection and so creative! We had our engagement there and we are delighted with the time we spent there. Really amazing!
This was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in, whether in Ireland or abroad.
The location was magical and ethereal, the food was fabulous, the staff was so welcoming.
I booked a single room and when I arrived I found I had been upgraded to a double room with a lake view.
I will definitely be back.
The food was beautiful both at breakfast and dinner served by wonderful friendly staff. The views from both the restaurant and my bedroom were outstanding. Gougane Barra is a little piece of paradise and how lucky to be able to stay in a hotel situated in the centre of this idyllic location.
Fabulous hotel in a fairy tale location. Exceeded all expectations. The dinner at the hotel should rate a Michelin star. The host Neil is tremendous. He holds a very high standard of excellence, and yet is approachable and very knowledgeable about the area. Don't miss out on this experience.
The staff was extremely friendly and attention to detail was amazing. Service was above and beyond. The walks and views are spectacular. The food is incredible. The range of drinks in the bar was fantastic. This hotel is the best-kept secret in Ireland!
The hotel is lovely, the staff were all really friendly. The food in the restaurant and the breakfast was really good. Its lovely to sit in that dining room and look out at the lake. I highly recommend
