Love the breakfast spread provided. Booked the hotel due to its close location to Jokulsarlon & Diamond Beach. Love the room. The surrounding of the hotel is pleasant. Near another tourist spot, the Hofskirkja, the turfed church.

Stayed in the studio, was an amazing stay, really easy to check in, views from the studio were outstanding, take food with you and enjoy the facilities. Comfy bed and warm showers. Best tap water ever.

stunning, make sure you walk all the way down the trail, there are two other gorgeous waterfalls that a lot of people missed by not going all the way to end end of the trail (which is only a few hundred meters long).

This is an amazing place to hike and see some glorious views - especially on a clear day - which can be a bit tricky. We were extremely fortunate to have some of the the sunniest days recorded. Could not ask for a more comfortable hike. There are glacier hikes that you can pay for but honestly parking at the Park and hiking up yourself is something you will not soon forget. Not too laborious, but you defintely feel like you are exercising. Loved every minute of this hike and I wish I could have stayed longer.

Sadly we only had a day in Skaftafell and I wish we had more time to explore the national park. What we did see was stunning. Nature, hikes, glaciers and ocean all within a stones throw of each other. Well worth a longer visit than just to pass through.

Tremendous family run generational local property.
Tremendous family run generational local property. Gorgeous setting and very close to National Park. Great path in rear of property leading to amazing glacier views and outlet lagoon. Lovely dinner and dessert! Friendly, warm staff. Great relaxing indoor bar and outdoor patio with stunning glacier views. Thank you, Hotel Skaftafell!!!
The hotel is very close to one of the main glaciers in Iceland, so it is a great option, if not the only one, if doing some tours around.
The facilities were great. The room had a good size and the bathroom was clean.
Continental breakfast included in the room rate. Probably, it was the best I had during my stay in Iceland.
The staff is just outstanding.
There is a smaller galcier at the back of the hotel, with several trails to explore the area.
A restaurant, gas station and its shop across the road.
The hotel was excellent with very friendly staff. It is ideally located to do excursions such as the ice caves. It also has nice hiking areas to the rear leading to nearby glaciers. The restaurant and bar were extremely good and the buffet breakfast with some hot food available was very good.
Was not sure about this place as it is unassuming on the outside. The room was cozy with comfortable beds. The shower had super hot water, which I love. Dinner prices were high, but the dinner was fantastic. Take the time to go on the short hike behind the hotel to the glacier.
Located within 5 minutes drive from Skaftafell nature reserve.
Very friendly staff, asking if we would like a wakeup call in case the Northern lights appear, and waking us up at the right time.
Very good and interesting dinner at the restaurant.
The hotel is great and the room is very clean and well prepared. The staff is very nice and well explained to us. We spend a great time at here. Will come back here to stay again. The breakfast is delicious. The view of the hotel is stunning.
Our room location was very private and we had a great view of the glacier out the window. The breakfast was excellent with both local and international selections. The location was perfect - only 5 minutes from the National Park entrance.
Good breakfast.
The room was an average size, the beds were comfortable.
The hotel reception provided a wake up call for the Northern Lights!
There is a nice walking trail directly behind the hotel to the edge of the glacier.
Hotel was well located in the national park with a nice view of the mountains. The room was sufficient for a couple even though it is not very big. You can park near your room so large luggages are not an issue.
The hotel is well located. The room is small but we’ll functioning. Breakfast buffet was nice but the dinner menu could be improved. From this hotel, we can join many activities such as the glacier hike.
It was a decent room, nothing special. The location was very helpful for our tour in Iceland. Right across the hotel was a gas station, where we bought some snacks and drinks. The beds were super comfy.
The hotel is set in a beautiful location close to a glacier which you can walk to in about 15 mins. The rooms were a good size and clean, and the buffet breakfast offered a very good selection.
The hotel has a lovely view of the glaciers and was a 4 minute drive to the entrance of the national park. Good breakfast, which is included, and dinner was exceptional.
It was ok but nothing special and quite expensive hotel, especially the food - we did not try it because of the very high prices even for Iceland. Breakfast is ok.
Breakfast was plentiful. Facilities were clean. They had a variety of places to sit and plenty of sanitizer. Staff offered us direction to glacier behind hotel.
