We had a problem with our arrival time due to a delay at our end. The staff were amazing and super accommodating. Couldn’t have been more helpful!

The hotel is an outstanding location for pre-cruise travellers as the location is just a few steps away from Largo della Pace where cruisers pick up the free shuttle to the cruise terminal. Just roll your luggages along the sidewalk then across the street onto the ramp towards area where the shuttle awaits.

Small city. Older buildings and infrastructure.

Small city. Older buildings and infrastructure. Uneven paved sidewalks, some graffiti but seemed very safe. Just an older Italian town that’s packed fairly tight. Lots of dining options, but hours are different from what Americans are used to.

We did not stay long enough to get to know it well enough...

We did not stay long enough to get to know it well enough but what I saw was great. I would advise anyone travelling to a hotel in town and coming off the Barcelona ferry not to use the Sat Nav until well into the centre. It is likely to take you through the port to a controlled gate which you will not be allowed to pass and you will be sent back. Just follow signs to the centre then switch on Sat Nav when well clear of the port.

Great location to explore for a few days.

Great location to explore for a few days. We tag this as more authentic Italy, slightly less tourism. Best/fresh seafood and pizza. We skipped this city prior to a previous cruise but glad we stayed this time. Enjoyed it immensely, liked the vibe. Seafront promenade and parks. Good shopping, affordable food and an easy walk most places including the train station and cruiseport. As with most of europe - toilets were a little more difficult to locate, mainly at restaurants.

The hotel was so central to the cruise port only 2 minutes walk even with luggage it was very convenient. The facilities were so clean and very aesthetically pleasing. Air conditioning and WiFi available. Adapter was in the room for plug. Really lovely hotel. The owner gave us a rome fridge magnet as a thank you for the stay and the service was just amazing. We could text them beforehand if we had any queries. This hotel takes the stress away from staying before a cruise.

The location for taking a cruise out of the port at Civitavecchia was perfect. The small apartment was clean and recently renovated to a bright and cheerful nook in a location readily accessible to the town center. The owner took great care to offer mealtime suggestions and share her knowledge of the city. Highly recommended this place for anyone who wants to visit this part of Italy and get away from the crowds in Rome.

Very nice hotel, staff were very friendly. The room was clean but small but that was expected in Italy as this was the same on previous trips in Italy. Alessandro was amazing arranging our ride to the airport as well as a limo service to Rome when we complete our cruise. It was also very nice to have a restaurant at the hotel. The menu was very good for dinner. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

A cruising friend recommended Hotel Borgo del Mare to us. I emailed the night before to arrange a shuttle. They were extremely responsive and were at the pier sooner than promised. We loved our dinner in the restaurant and breakfast was excellent with many options. The walk to the town is a little life threatening but it’s a really nice town with a pretty waterfront. We would definitely stay again.

The rooms are spacious and clean. Our rooms were on the first floor, so we easily got around. The lady in the front is very friendly, when we checked out she gave us an Italy magnet. The suite has a sauna and the shower is next to the bed. You have to be careful when taking a shower. There is also snacks, fridge, tea kettle, and the suite had a bottle of wine.

Our host was very gracious and offered to pick us up at the train station. He helped us get settled and told us the basics. There was a large assortment of packaged food , drinks, and even beer. The place was much more comfortable than a hotel. The bedroom TV included netflix. It is a very short walk to the cruise shuttle.

Knowing ahead of time it was an older hotel, it exceeded our expectations! Breakfast was great and location is superb! Boardwalk is in the front of the building, train station a few meters away and restaurants. They arranged a shuttle for us to the cruise terminal. If given a chance would stay here again. Highly recommend.

Simone the owner was extremely friendly and very professional. Even though we had a change of plans due to a transport strike in Italy, he was very understanding and accommodating and allowed us to chk in early. He went out of his way to guide us to the port and arranged a taxi for us despite it being difficult.

This place was like staying in a museum! It was an easy walk from the train station (even at midnight) and an easy walk to the cruise port shuttle in the morning will all of our luggage. I forgot that there is a floor 0 in Italy so I may have tried getting into the apartment one floor below first :p

Flavia was very welcoming. Room was comfy and spotless. Location was great although I did have a little trouble finding it as I forgot it was a B&B not a hotel so the signs were not as visible. All in all a great B&B for my one night stay before my cruise.
