David Sofrà - my second visit to Santa Margherita.
David Sofrà - my second visit to Santa Margherita. The town hasn’t changed in 16 years, it is one of my favourite places to stay and base myself from. Hotel Continental is my recommended hotel for an amazing old world experience. Eat dinner at the Continental also. Catch a ferry to Portfino and Cinque Terre

We enjoyed Santa Margherita Ligure very much.
We enjoyed Santa Margherita Ligure very much. It was a delightful town by the beach. There are lots of different places to eat. There is an absolutely delightful walk to Portofino along the coast. In the other direction there is also a lovely walk to Rapallo.

This city is a must visit.
This city is a must visit. The city itself has plenty to offer, from shops to an array of great seafood restaurants. Awesome waterfront and the perfect connection, in whichever way suits you, on foot, by bus or ferry, to Portofino...and we did try all three.

Views fantastic.
Views fantastic. Choice of restaurants and bars good.food expensive. Weather iffy at times but didn't spoil our enjoyment. Coffee amazing. Food delicious. Transport to portofino awkward if ferry not running.

I would have rather stayed in Santa Margarita than in Cinque Terra. CT was nice but SM was larger, the feel was more holiday Mediterranean style, more restaurants, shops... a great base to stay and then take the train or ferries down to CT

I loved the area.
I loved the area. I would stay there and take day trips to Cinque Terre rather than staying there. Cinque Terre is very noisy. it’s less expensive to take the bus rather than the ferry to Portofino.because was a short ride. Even though we were a mile from town it was too long and uphill to walk back. Taxi rides are $30 each way. I wish we were closer to the strip. There were many shops and nice restaurants on the strip and in town. Beautiful place

Breakfast was great, home made and fresh cakes and lots of choice. Got a larger room than we thought with balcony and was always perfectly air-conditioned. Lovely roof terrace with a hot tub, looks like recently done and great views from here. We found it super hard to find any hotel with some sort of pool so were really happy with our choice. Staff was very friendly and so helpful and quick to respond to our queries. Is located in the centre of Santa Margherita, which was a great base for all means of transportation and main sights.
The staff was nice, rooms standard size for italy but well organzied, clean and comfortable. The locations is awesome, the upper rooms with balconies are very great with beautiful views. If you have a car, you may find free parking on the street but they have a automatic underground car parking, its pretty cool and cost $20/night. The have a nice rooftop terrace, small with a cool dipping pool. Beach front loungers/umbreallas, breakfast great, outside seating. We had drinks outside. It was all great. Small elevators. :(
very nice hotel directly on the beach - private beach with full service, room with balcony facing the sea, friendly staff, good breakfast on the terrace in front of the sea, located in the center of Santa Margherita Ligure with many very good restaurants, we really enjoyed it, the parking was 50 m from the hotel, there was staff helping with luggage, close to Portofino - it is reccomended to go there by boat - 15min ( every hour) , the visit of lighthouse with bar was wonderful!
Excellent stay for few days.
This hotel is beautiful and has spectacular views, it has a beach access and the most special thing is its staff! They are beyond and above, the quality of their service in my opinion deserves 5 stars. They have assisted us in every way and are very warm and polite, it felt like our home during our stay in Ligure. Not to mention their indoor warm pool! One of the best hotels ever! Shoutout to the staff and the manager. :)
The property and the room were charming, as was Fede, our host, who brought us Sangria when we arrived and fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning, from the orange tree in the beautiful garden surrounding the property. Our bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. Loved the reupholstered Victorian bed. Santa Margherita Ligure is a lovely seaside town offering short, passenger boat rides to Portofino and Cinqueterra.
Paula at the reception she was a great help, I hade different reservations in different room she made the transition very smooth and always great you with big smile once you leave the hotel, also the other staff Nadia and Sara were very helpful provideing us with clean towels and always asking if need anything, also people at breakfast area the hotel staff is one the best that i have delt with
This is a lovely boutique hotel in a quiet part of Santa Margherita. The room was fairly compact but was very comfortable and clean, and our balcony was a good size. Excellent breakfast choices, and lovely staff who gave us lots of good recommendations and information about the local area. Would definitely stay here if visiting SML again (which we hopefully will!)
Lovely hotel in the centre of Santa (fabulous location), clean and tidy, great breakfast. Best of all were the staff, who couldn’t have made us feel more welcome and were super friendly! We forgot our iPad and they even sped up to the train station to catch us with the iPad before we boarded a train. Thank you for a memorable stay.
Ambiance was eclectic and warm. Rooms are well appointed & comfortable.
Breakfast was wonderful; great selection and presentation was beautiful.
Staff are respectful, engaging and know the area with great dinner reservations.
Would highly recommend this boutique hotel!
Perfect Location to access Protofino or Santa Margherita by foot or Bus. Great samall sandy beach with Turqoise water. We had the paradise room with the the large terrasse and spa, it was just great to be there to relax and enjoy the view, the best room in town!
David Sofrà - best hotel I’ve stayed in on the Italian or French Riviera’s. It has old world charm and class, don’t bother eating dinner elsewhere in Santa Margherita, Rapallo, Camogli or Portfino. I did not want to leave and have already rebooked my stay.
Our room was clean and spacious with an enormous terrace overlooking the sea. The staff were incredible especially the head waiter Mareno . We would definitely stay at Hotel Continental the next time we are in the area.
it was close to everything including the trains buses the breakfast was wonderful
the patios were so relaxing and nice
it was our favorite hotel so far and the owner is always there to help with anything needed
A wonderful hotel to stay at, our 2nd time. Great location. Beach a few steps away. Rooftop pool with sea view. Real nice breakfast for 5 euros. Close to portofino. Great beds. Great place.
Was not a 4 star hotel. More like a 1 star hotel. Breakfast was the worst breakfast. The eggs were cold the service was terrible. Would not recommend this place to stay to anyone.
A fully converted Luxurious Palazzo but with all the charm of a 1930’s Grand Hotel . Should hve been rated 5 stars . Parking great , Breakfast amazing . A find indeed
