We loved The Borgo San Rocco and haven't stopped talking about it! Everything from the crazy drive up the mountain to the building, the views and the wonderful staff Francesca, Sandra, Frederico and of course the wonderful Vittorio who adds his own personal stamp to every visitors experience. We can't wait to come back
Set within 1.2 km of Spiaggia Santa Teresa Di Riva and 3 km of Sant'Alessio Siculo Beach, Verdello Home provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Savoca.

You must try... Highly recommended!
From the moment we arrived, we have received great hospitality from Tamara and Lio. They made our day by realize that our vocation started right there.
Professional management team, wonderful sea view from the hill, new rooms, safe and convenient parking lot (inside of thr property). Above all, the golden location to cover Sadova, Taormina, Castelmola and Mt. Etna. Of course, if you wish to settle down for a beautiful beach day, the coastline, beach and sea view restaurants /cafes are just steps away... Especially ideal for travellers with car. It is a sweet spot where close enough to everything, every hot sightseeing spots, but you could still feel the sense of calm, peace, charm and relaxation.
B&B Il Padrino is located in Savoca and is named after the film The Godfather as the director Francis Ford Coppola stayed here during filming. It offers rooms with views of Mount Etna.

Excellent location offering lovely views of Savoca. The place is within walking distance of this beautiful medieval city. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Very welcoming host! Highly recommended!

For sure it had to be classified as one of the most beautiful "Borgi" of Italian historic villages (Sicily).
The old , quiet village looks like a Nativity crib, especially at night with its dim lightning and charming Savocans!
The story behind Francis Copolla's "The Godfather" makes it more intresting.
I was very disappointed with the over-priced and money-miser approach of Bar Vitelli...... if you do not sit down and but an expensive Granita .... circa 8 Euro oer person than to just have a photo you are charged 5 euro.
But ignoring Bar Vitelli ill-effect approach, Savoca offers wonderful walks, charming atmosphere and scenery, great vinotecas (Wine bars) and places to eat. It is a place to supreme relaxation away from bustling city noise, eventhough on Wednesday a lots of tourists invade the village.

I picked this area because it has the iconic Godfather locations such as Bar Vitelli and the church from where Michael gets married in part one, being a huge Godfather fan this place was just perfect, very authentic to Sicily and an absolutely stunning view all over, I would definitely go back to Sicily and 100% stay in Savoca

The art throughout Savoca is amazing!
The art throughout Savoca is amazing! The clay stations of the cross (Via Crucis) throughout the village culminates with a walk up short but steep stairs to three crosses at the Hermitage of Monte Calvario reflecting the Risen Lord. And if it's a clear day, you are treated to a beautiful and appropriate view of Mt Etna! This hilltop, medieval village is exceptionally clean and clearly faith filled. IT IS NOT ABOUT THE GODFATHER...although it does host the bar and church which were in the scenes of the movies. While the village has benefited financially from the filming, thankfully it has retained its own identity. It is overrun with tourists who are often only interested in seeing the location of the Godfather scenes and are usually insensitive and oblivious to others around them. The villagers must have the patience of Job!

This is a small hilltop town where part of the Sicilian scenes from the Godfather movie were filmed. Extremely scenic. In October, it was not crowded. When we were here 5 years ago in the summer, it was much more crowded with several tour buses.

A stunning hill top village.
A stunning hill top village. Once in the village visit bar vitelli and sit were Al pachino sat when filming The Godfather part 2. Then miander around the streets ( quite steep in places ) or take a tut tut ride only 3 - 5 euros depending on length of journey. Their is a family run cafe/ bar opposite bar vitelli were you can buy snacks, ice cream etc. There are a few resteraunts dotted about and a couple of wine bars with spectacular views of Saint Teresa, a seaside resort at the bottom of the hill. Also a must visit is Nino a bread maker who sells freshly made breads with ham and cheese or olives baked inside or delicious slices of pizzas. There are stunning ancient churches and a museum to marvel at. All in all a must place to visit.
We really enjoyed our stay in Verdello Home! We were group of 7 people and occupied 4 rooms. The hotel is new so all the rooms were very clean, nicely equipped spaced enough and comfortable. The rooms on the second floor has nice view on the see.
The hotel provides private parking. It´s well located - close to the highway so easy to travel around the island. The sea (with the beach) and the restaurants are in walking distance (10-15 min).
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good (delicious croissants every day).
Our stay at Borgo San Rocco was amazing. What a location and treat to be there. Panoramic views. The history and knowing that parts of the Godfather were filmed there made it all the more unique. Easy to walk into the little town close by. The staff could not do more for us and made us feel very welcomed and special- especially Vittori and Francesca. Many visitors from all over were there - easy to enjoy conversations with many different people over a drink or at meals. Restaurant and service also excellent!
Nicely appointed, clean rooms with large bathroom. Nino was very accommodating and friendly. Property has gated/key access for extra security. The home and rooms were very clean and modern. Breakfast was traditional Sicilian style with fresh fruits, breads, coffee and tea. We stayed in late October and were treated to freshly picked persimmon fruits (cachi) and homemade lemon/orange jam (made by Nino's sister). Close drives to Taormina/Isola Bella and the "Godfather" sites in Savoca.
Sometimes, if you are lucky, you find destination where everything exceeds your expectations. Borgo san Rocca is such place.
The hospitality, the view, the food and the rustic atmosphere in general is unique.
We had dinner there the first night and decided to do so also the second one as well and were very happy
Having the possibility to meet the founder and share a glass with him during inspiring conversation was something we valued
Hope we get the opportunity to visit again!!
Stunning property in a the quaint town of Savoca that was 5 minutes walking from the house. The views of the sea, Mt Etna and Savoca are incredible. Carmelo (owner) is so kind and accommodating, he simply couldn’t do enough for us. The house itself is brand new and absolutely pristine. The beds were comfortable and having a bathroom for nearly every room was great. Savoca sits in a perfect location to get to Taormina and easy to get to Messina and Catania as well.
Your own private mountain house with all modern amenities and a large terrace with stunning mountain and sea views. Tucked away in a very quiet environment but within walking distance from the magnificent village Savoca with its narrow streets, its nice shops, wine bars, multiple and diverse restaurants from authentic wood-oven
pizza to, local trattoria and more fancy-pants cuisine. By car just 8 minutes drive from the lavish beaches.
I had a very good stay at this Airbnb in beautiful Savoca. The host was really nice and left us coffee, some fruit and beverages in the fridge. The house itself was one of the best I’ve experienced for the price; it’s big, has everything you might need and has a beautiful view of the hills.
It's important to note that Savoca can be a challenging place to navigate by car as roads are narrow. Overall, a very good experience.
Excellent location - few min drive to Savoca, close to the sea side with beach clubs, very quite Sicilian village area.
But the gem is the host Christel - friendly, helpful, well organised woman, energetic, to make your stay in Sicily even better. She brilliantly helped to organise activities and dining and hosted a lovely breakfast with local specialities and home made jams, eggs, etc.
Lovely and peaceful place to stay!
The villa has a fantastic atmosphere, with beautiful views to the valley. The pool is a perfect for relaxing after a sightseeing day. The villa is very stylish, furnished with quality furniture, even with paintings, very comfortable for 4 people. Savoca itself is a unique village with a lot of churches, narrow streets, old houses. the villa is very calm, still in the very centre of Savoca.
This hotel provided an unforgettable experience with its prime location and exceptional service. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The private terrace offered breathtaking views during breakfast, and the owner’s recommendations for dinner at the best local restaurants were spot on. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.
What a lovely beautiful setting and place .
The staff could not do any more to better your stay, best place we have stayed at and good value.
We have stayed in some lovely places over the years but this location we fabulous.
Would recommend to anyone wishing to go to Sicily .
The owner was very friendly and always smile.. My flight was delayed and he wait me until 11:30 at night. The breakfast was very good with some homemade food. Nice chat with him even I don't speak Italian and he speak little English. He also show us his small garden.
The host Christel welcomed us so warmly, and was helpful and gracious throughout our stay. A highlight was the bountiful and tasty breakfast. For “Godfather” fans, the location is a perfect base to explore the enchanting hilltop town of Savoca.
Perfect location with a terrace. Very nice view over Savoca and the sea and the mainland of Italy. The owners are extremely nice and help you with everything. The place is spotless clean and everything you need is there.
Savoca is rightly famous as a most charming Sicilian village and Pentefur is perfectly located in the heart of the village. Daniella is an outstanding host who makes the experience unforgettable
Comfortable terrace with beautiful view, friendly hosts, good location near Taormina, old town in Savoca and Isola Bella. It was very clean and good communication with hosts.
