It's a beautiful town/city, not very many foreign tourists (that I saw). It's a great place to wind down and relax on a beach on one side and nature on the other. I don't like hot springs but I heard that they are also very nice there.

The location at the ocean side, with stunning views from Atami hills, the little fishing port and its numerous eateries with freshest possible ingredients, busy shopping avenue at the train station, historic Kiunkaku Villa and garden, serving as the town's cultural centre, where I spent hours strolling and talking to various artists and artisans exhibiting their work, charming ladies at the villa's cafe, and the gem - MOA museum, what a great find! All this makes me long to come to Atami yet again during my next trip to Japan :-)

I didn't technically stayed in Atami city center, but a small town called Ajiro which is only two stations away from Atami, and our ryokan is 4 minutes walk from the station. It's a serene place with perfect combination of sea view and hot spring. The town is small, but it has quite some awesome restaurants ran by local people. I would recommend Satsuki Sushi and Shogyo Seafood Restaurant, premium quality food with very affordable price.
Ajiro is definitely an underrated town. Since the town center is both close to the JR train station and the seaside, it's a good place to stay and easy to travel between the izu towns by JR.

The hotel is beautiful.
The hotel is beautiful. Room is spacious and has amazing views. Hotel staff are attentive and helpful. Onsen was old but facilities are working fine. Location is near Atami attractions.
I wasn't aware that I have to make reservation for dinner even though the booking made was half board. Upon check in, I was told that I will only have Western dinner for my whole stay. I knew the hotel has a French restaurant but I didn't know that I have to state my choice of dinner in advance. Western dinner was ok, service at the French restaurant was excellent but the food quantity is too little (even for a small eater). On the second day, I requested for Japanese dinner but was told that Japanese restaurant was fully booked. After speaking with 6 different staff, the Japanese restaurant agreed to accommodate 2 more diners for one night but we had to eat our dinner at 5pm. My advice - please make reservation for dinner in advance. They have French and Japanese food to choose from.

This is almost a ryokan style place. Very Japanese, with tatami room and older Japanese style bathroom, bathroom and toilet were separated. Staff was very friendly and caring, they don't speak English and basic Japanese is very helpful here, though I would say it could be handled even without knowing a word in Japanese. This place is close to the train station (5-7 min walking), provides a simple breakfast (tea/coffee and croissant), we've also received some cookies on the check-out.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and made me feel right at home.
The room facilities were excellent, and the large windows allowed me to enjoy the beautiful sea views. The hotel also had a hot spring, which provided complete relaxation for my tired body and mind.
Overall, the hotel's service, amenities, and scenery were impeccable. I had a wonderful vacation here, and I will definitely choose this hotel again without hesitation on my next visit to Atami!
Absolutely fantastic hotel right by Atami Station. We were so tired after our trip from Kyoto to Atami that finding the hotel close to the station was wonderful. The whole place is clean and new. The room was beautiful and comfortable. We loved that we could watch Netflix on the TVs! The breakfast was delicious and just the right amount. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I would stay again next time I'm in Atami for sure!
This was the best stay I had while solo traveling in Japan. The staff were all so kind and inviting, amazing people. The rooms were all clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. The guesthouse is just a very small walk from JR Atami station, which makes it easy to get around town. If you're staying in Atami, this is the perfect place to choose to stay in
View from our room was great. Ability to see local fireworks show was great. It was a very quiet, peaceful location. Also, the frequent shuttles to the Atami train station (center of town) were helpful. Good to have on-site self-serve laundry. If onsen hot-springs bath is what you are looking for, then this is the place.
This place is amazing and beautiful. It is maintained very maticuously. The style is tradition Japanese and it is simply beautuful. We had an issue with the hot water that was resolved immediately and the staff was very helpful and responsive to tgat one issue. The private bath was also amazing.
The room overlooked the ocean. It was a traditional tatami room, very simple and spacious.
Nice and clean, very quiet as it was off the main street. Very close to cafes and the train station.
I went there specifically for the onsite hot spring bath and home-like stay, rather than a hotel.
A wonderful ryokan in Atami. Kaiseki dinner and breakfast served in the room. Great Onsen. Amazing Japanese style room. Near the train station. The Atami castle, beach and all to see in Atami is nearby by foot. Welcoming staff and dedicated personnel. We loved it.
The check staff we excellent! Great location and a comfortable and modern hotel, the size of the room was bigger compared to standard Japanese hotels, would definitely stay again, oh nice touch with the complementary breakfast they serve, well done! ✅
The breakfast did not come with my rate. I don't remember if the option for breadfast was available when I booked with booking.com The breakfast has to be ordered in advance for this hotel. You cannot order breakfast when you check-in.
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff are incredibly friendly and recommended a delicious restaurant for us to eat at in town. The service was 10/10. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you so much!
5 minutes walk from Atami Station. There are many restaurants nearby. Toyota car rental is just opposite the hotel. The breakfast is delicious. Coin laundry on the ground floor is useful. Room is clean and bed is comfortable.
This place is amazing with a beautiful view over the sea and you are always welcomed with friendly staff. Great option to enjoy Atami Beach without staying in mass tourism hotel. 123 Music have so much more charm and soul!
Atami is awesome all-around. Western beds are so much more comfortable than Futons, but you still get the Ryokan experience here. Staff was exceptionally awesome as expected of Japanese service providers.
This hotel is amazing! Traditional Japanese atmosphere treating the guests like Royalty! The ocean views are spectacular and the onsen are amazing. The chef is great!
