The reception and breakfast staff and the shuttle driver provided great service. My room was airy, clean and bright. Free drinks, amenities and shuttle service to and from Iseshi Station was definitely a bonus.

Very old guesthouse run by a lovely grandma. The rooms are huge and some have a private toilet. The onsen is small but enough for the capacity of the guesthouse. The location is amazing: at the beach front, and 5min walk along the cost to the Meotoiwa site. There is also a Family Mart not far, to get some food for the breakfast. Private free parking located 2min walk from the guesthouse.

Brand new, convenient, with nice rooms, though the self-check in and semi-unmanned front desk was a little off-putting. For example, they don't offer storage for your bags if you need to drop them earlier or pick them up later after check out. A small thing, but a huge inconvenience and not what I would expect for a hotel with this many rooms at this price point.

We loved our trip here. Little did I know, I seem to enjoy travelling in a pretty laid-back city and Ise was just perfect for that. If you're craving for a small city experience, out from the other international travelers, I'd recommend Ise for sure.

I visited Ise to see and experience Ise Grand Shrine. I am interested in the mythology about Japanese shrines and also in the Imperial Family system. My parents visited Ise when they were young and I wanted to do the same trip.

IseShi is an important city to visit if you like Shine. There are plenty of Shrines and you will have not enough time to visit this place if you want to explore all of the Shrine. Also don't forget to taste the Ise Lobster and the Matsusaka wagyu beef.

The Ise area has so many positives and sights to see! The temples of course but there is the seaside to the north as well as the natural beauty of the whole peninsula that we would love to see more of, we should have booked for a week!
Ise city itself was very tidy, and clearly well organised and set up for tourism with walking streets and beautiful shops on the main street from station to Ise Jingu Shrine. We would still love to visit the Okage Yokocho ancient street area and all the other temples south of Ise!

Meoto Iwa was a good place, but getting there was sligthly confusing (mostly due to me misreading Google Maps instructions and ending up at a different station =);
Ise's shrines were great, I really recommend Okage Yokocho and the Uji Brigde: perfect for a nice walk with great landscapes and sceneries.
Ninja Kingdom was also an interesting experience, but as non japanese I cannot recommend the Real Life Game; so the time spent there was around half a day. From there, the Meoto Iwa is not far, so I would advise to combine both, if found interesting.

Great place if your looking for a shrine pilgrimage (many shrines in the city), especially since Ise Grand shrine is the most sacred shrine in all of Japan. Many shrines to visit (recommend Futamiokitama Shrine as well). There are many fun shops and restaurants/ food stands around Ise Grand Shrine (Naiku). The downtown area around Iseshi station also has a lovely street of shops and restaurants. Many buses and trains that run frequently to take you to many places.
I'm honestly blown away by the great stay we had! The staff was amazing and chatted with us in great English. The guesthouse is small and only holds a handful of people which gives this all a feel of familiarity. There's a community room with board games, musical instruments and free snacks and you can cook your own food there. The guesthouse also offers a lot of stuff you can rent for free.
All in all, if we ever make it back to Ise this would definitely be our Number 1 choice.
My entire stay was made by the owner who was absolutely adorable and as an English foreigner, he tried his best to communicate with us. Also as breakfast was included with the price, the owner asked and catered to my dietary requirement as a vegetarian which I couldn't be grateful for and the breakfast was really amazing. Overall the environment was really welcoming, the facilities were very clean and it was in a great location - only 3 mins away from Iseshi train station!!
The hotel staff was really friendly and we have always been assigned waiters who spoke English well, who did a fantastic job in making our dinner and breakfast experience memorable by explaining what we were eating and making some conversation. They also came up with a written translation of the breakfast menu, which I believe was done just for us. Food, especially the dinner, was above our expectations and matching the level of upscale structures.
We had a great 4 night stay at Hinode Ryokan ! The staff are all lovely and friendly. We had a beautiful room in this old fashioned Inn, so conveniently located 2 minutes away from Iseshi Station. We found it easy to get around from here to all of the sites of interest for us. The baths were great and all amenities were provided. Laundry was a bonus as was the table tennis. Thank you for a great stay! I recommend this Inn for travelling to Ise !
A characterful little building, in timber on a polygonal plan. Staff speak very limited English but are friendly and helpful, and unsurprising as Ise is a little off the 'main drag' for non-Japanese. Rooms were fine, location was great. Hugely recommend the eel restaurant a couple of doors down. Nice common kitchen area, where we chatted using a universal language ('Jeff Beck' 'Joy Division' 'Ghibli' ... thumbs up and down) with local hikers.
A beautiful, quirky, little place. Right in the heart of the historic Kawazaki district of Ise-shin. Perfect location for sightseeing and the train station. The owner, Yuki (and her partner) are very friendly and speak good English. The facilities are great. There is even a 'water-coffin' in the garden (an outside bath) which is the best way to relax and cool down after a hot day. If I could give this 11/10, I would. Perfect.
The location was great, within walking distance to the outer shrine. The rooms are well designed and layout, and include a useful kitchenette area with microwave and cooking utensils. Only downside is the lack of housekeeping during the stay. Be prepared to bring down your own trash and clear the garbage bins. Nevertheless, would still highly recommend this hotel for visit to Ise city.
It is pretty close to Iseshi station and also close to Ise Jingu. The whole guest house looks very new, and very clean, and I had a really comfortable stay. There is a lot of space in the room to put your big suitcase, and there is also a lot of space inside each bed cabin too. And I also like how they already prepared the bed with bed sheet on, and also provide free towel rental too.

For example, they don't offer storage for your bags if you need to drop them earlier or pick them up later after check out. It is important to put this hotel into the right context vis a vis value for money. It is a no-frills hotel which is excellent value for money staffed by people who really went above and beyond on a specific issue for us. As foreign tourists, we felt very well looked after and could not say enough kind things about the staff.
We loved the hotel and the breakfast, the room was lovely and comfy and spacious, quiet, easy to get into. We would stay again if we are in Ise. Staff was also very kind and helpful. And we met a very nice staff member helping with breakfast who spoke English and was very helpful and friendly.
it was a beautiful Japanese traditional property with a beautiful view of the ocean from our bedroom window. the staff were very kind and welcomed us back every time we returned. it was slightly out of the city center but that gave it an even more enjoyable rural japan feel.
The staff was very friendly, we checked in super late at 11pm, she greeted us with a smile (with a mask of course) and had the room ready for us already! The hotel location was easy to find, just need to leave from the side exit of the station and walk for about 3 to 5min!
This was such a comfortable stay. Plenty of room to relax and such a warm cozy place to settle on a winters night. A great location and easy walk to Ise Jingu Shrine and many different restaurants for dinner. Lovely host family. Would definitely stay again.
Hotel have free Onsen(for man), parking lot and washing machine. Breakfast is good taste and varieties. Staff is kind and polite. Location not far from expressway, town and Ise grand shrine. Fair price compare with other hotel nearby.
An absolutely brilliant location, great for getting to the Naiku Jinja, or inner shrine, early in the morning to beat the crowds and/or catch the sunrise.
The host was wonderfully kind and I loved the old house. Very fun.
