Everything! I would book again. The onsen is fantastic! Bed very comfortable, the room is very big with all the amenities. Location just close to the ferry station so very easy to walk and also super close to the center.

The location is fantastic, very close to the Itsukushima Shrine and the Tori gate. All the other main activities and points of interest can also be reached in a matter of minutes. Service was great, as the staff is very kind, welcoming and the free shuttle service from the ferry port to the hotel was very much appreciated. The room was very comfortable and the wifi is good. Also the onsen is a nice addition.

Great location, large room with sea views, nice staff, good breakfast, good value relative to staying on the island itself (cheap, regular ferries, short trip). No need to train to Hiroshima.

We feel lucky we found an affordable hotel in Miyajima. We were right by the center so we could stop by any time. The hosts were very friendly and we felt welcomed. The room was very comfortable, with plenty of space. The bathroom was quite small but clean, so this was not a problem for us. They offered recommendations for nearby restaurants and provided a guide of the island which was very helpful.

Located away from the main tourist street so it was quiet. The house was really nice and comfortable. Provided dinner and breakfast was good too!

I got a traditional Japanese room, with a low table in the middle, low chairs and futon beds. The truth is that everything was incredible. We had all the comforts (full bathroom, with all the necessary items), very comfortable beds, good bedding, an electric kettle to prepare whatever we wanted, although even on the ground floor there was also coffee and water to serve. The facility has a public Japanese bath, which we didn't go to because it didn't catch our attention, but we saw that many people used it. To get to the place you have to walk about 20 minutes, something to keep in mind if you go with luggage.
The staff at the place was incredible, excellent treatment, very friendly and predisposed.
The breakfast is excellent, it is a traditional Japanese breakfast and includes a refill of tea and rice.
If I go to Miyajima again, definitely I would go to this hotel.

This was a very pleasant change from our hotel rooms in the rest of Japan. This self-catering apartment offered a set of rooms which were very spacious with lots of storage. Beds were really comfortable with clean crisp linen. There were plenty of towels available in the bathroom, which in addition to a bathtub and wet-room style shower, also had a washer-dryer for guest use (with helpful instructions in English which we greatly appreciated!). There is a lounge with two L-shaped sofas, a coffee table and TV which gave us a nice space to relax in. There is an excellent, well-appointed kitchen with a large table that was very useful. Our host was very responsive to requests for information and generally very friendly and made sure we were all ok and we did not need anything. The location is excellent, only a few hundred meters from the ferry terminal and within easy reach of the Great Torii gate and numerous shops and restaurants.

A full day on Miyajima is a good amount of time to explore this pretty island. Catch the 2 stage gondolier up Mount Misen (or climb the trail if you're feeling active) and explore the trails, the ancient shrines and temples and then admire the views at the top. Once back down again, the beachfront is picturesque and nice to wander along admiring the island at low tide.

It is a magic island where I would spend at least a couple of full days by sleeping in an authentic hotel with futon beds. If you can, i recommend to do the hiking of the main mountain (not difficult at all)

If you are an elderly Japanese teetotaller who likes simple food, an onsen and beautiful views this is the place for you!
If however, you also like your hotel to be multi generational, with a nice bar, good food and a welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely not the hotel for you.

We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. We took one whole day climbing the mountain, which was great but time consuming, so we ended up not seeing everything on our list. Keep in mind that the restaurants and bars close by 7 or 8 pm because all of the tourists leave the island around 5:30 pm. You really get to enjoy the beautiful island in peace and quiet in the morning and evening before the boats of tourists arrive. It was our favorite place we visited in Japan!

Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape!
Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape! Friendly, professional staff assisted us to get settled, offering umbrellas for the rain, assistance on getting around the Island, etc. The hotel even offers Onsen clothing and many other amenities for their guests! The hotel is conveniently located just steps from the ferry dock and the main streets to see the Tori Gate or the Itsukushima Shrine, the aquarium, to get to the Ropeway, trinket stores, ice cream stations, and so on. Our ocean room view had 2 oversized very comfy twin beds, a small couch, & desk. Loved the Toto Washlet in the toilet room! The bathtub while small was perfect for soaking after 5 hours of hiking. Lots of soft water and water pressure. The onsen (public bath) was just pure Heaven! :-) Sitting in the enclosed area in back of the hotel is just more of the escape and so worthwhile! :-)
Thankfully there was food available in the hotel (bakery, dinner, breakfast) because ALL food service in town STOPS AT 4:30pm! At least, it did while we were there. Our breakfast with Miyajima Villa was wonderful and very filling whether Japanese or American food.
High caution is advised if you plan to hike from the Ropeway, as we did. Trails are not well marked on all trails. However, the trail to the top of Mt Misen is well worthwhile! Hopefully, you are as fortunate as we were to see the Tori Gate at high & low tides as well as catching it at sunset, which brought out MANY PEOPLE. :-) :-) What a perfectly lovely island to spend some adventure time!
The hotel was expensive but offers a great experiment and the luxury to enjoy Miyajima on the evening, without the crow and enjoy the sunset and sunrise on the island. To room was huge and very clean, the bed very confortable.
The hotel have a whole floor dedicated to well-being, with a salon, onsen, exterior pool, rock bath, karaoke room... That you can access anytime on the opening hour. They have also kimono at disposition at the entry, a little shop on the 1st floor.
Appreciate the simple dinner of curry rice, miso soup especially when most eateries close around 6pm. Plain bread, beverages for breakfast. Maybe because of the meals provided in the common room, guests tend to interact to exchange travel experiences which is good. Guesthouse is just 5min walk from the small but very lovely park during cherry blossoms season. A good option considering how expensive accomodation is on Miyajima island, Hiroshima.
Great ryokan in Miyajima, with a proper onsen. Welcoming staff, surprisingly spacious rooms, and great food. Dinner was sensational, with the restaurant staff happy to recommend some local sakes (we loved the Misen), and the Japanese breakfast was a treat. They offer transportation form the pier, but Miyajima is small, so I recommend you get there by taking a leisurely stroll through the market stalls.
The hotel is located right next to the ferry pier-seriously, just steps away. The hotel itself isn't special but it really is a great value, given the location. They were happy to keep my luggage before and after checkout, so I was able to spend time on Miyajima until sunset and go back for sunrise. While the room wasn't especially memorable, the facility was clean and the staff was friendly.
Excellent hotel, very good quality dinner prepared by Chef Aiko Yamanaka. The staff is super attentive and very friendly. The onsen is great with one outside overlooking the O-Torii. Super recommended, if you plan to visit Miyajima be sure to book at least one night in this Hotel, you will never regret it. My congratulations to all the hotel staff. I fell in love with everything!!!
Loved the kimono robe that you could wear around the hotel and to breakfast.. The onsens were great especially the outdoor private one that overlooked the water. . The free shuttle service was perfect for getting you to the ferry for Miyajima.and the train station. Staff were fantastic. Rooms were very clean and a nice size. Loved having the balcony to sit out on in the evenings.
Miyajima grand hotel is a great place to stay on the island. It is a short distance to the ferry terminal and close to the markets and gondola.
We chose the package with half board. The dinner and breakfast was an amazing experience, with many courses.
The onsen was a great way to end the day too.
Recommend taking time to stay on the island at the Grand Hotel.
The food is outstanding and the whole stay was great. The hotel is quiet and comfortable, with a nice rooftop to relax and private Japanese bath. 2 mins from the main shopping street and close to all the attractions of the island.
The staff is friendly, welcoming and genuinely nice.
A must to visit! Service was perfect. They pay attention to every detail and this makes you feel as you are in the best place you could ask for in Miyajima. The room was clean, the food was really great (not only the taste, but also how it was presented). Totally recommended!!!
The location of this Ryokan was excellent! It is practically across from the ferry terminal, and it faces the water. our room had a tiny table and chairs, and somewhat of a balcony, which was cute. There was a tiny fridge, and the air conditioning worked well.
This is a lovely hotel, easily walkable from the ferry port & right next to Miyajima Aquarium. The rooms are spotless & comfortable. The onsen was lovely. Star of the show were the delightful ladies who were always smiling & the AMAZING Japanese breakfast!
The ryokan is nicely maintained and the hosts were wonderful. The bath was a great and unique experience, while the breakfast was deliciously prepared. It is in a great, central location, not far from the ferry and still close to the major attractions.
The hotel is conveniently located to explore Miyajima. The staff is very kind and they arranged a private visit at the spa, that was very nice. The breakfast and dinner are very traditional, so we are happy we got to experience that too.
The food was prepared onsite, and tasted amazing. The staff was sweet and very friendly. Everything was curated to provide the experience of a ryokan. I had no idea what to expect going in, but I was extremely happy with my experience.
I liked all the terraces, book room, free beverages, and the onsen. I felt like I was getting a true Japanese ryokan experience. The front desk spoke just enough English (and had just enough English handouts) to explain everything.
The hotel is located in about 15 min walk from the ferry arrival station. It’s a small island so it’s walkable to all the attractions easily. They provide 2 bottles of water.
The Hotel is literally next to the train and ferry station. Our room had a wonderful view of Miyajima. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was nice.
