The room and meals were wonderful!! The private bath was nice to use but the public bath is great too! The small hot spring town is really nice to walk though. It was my first experience with hot springs and I enjoyed them a lot. Why not a full smile for bed: my arthritis and futon were not the best friends, haha! But that was not hotel's fault. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore everything there is to see in Ikaho and just around the corner from a bus stop to explore surrounding areas. We will be back to stay at Mimatsukan. Thank you for having us!

The management kindly offered to change room and we were upgraded for free to a much larger room. A big thank to the hotel and shame on Booking.com for not advertising the smoking / non-smoking option more clearly.

I cannot fault this Ryokan, although it was expensive I would say it was worth it to do once or a few times. I wish I had more time so I could stay another night.
