Fantastic little campsite in the middle of the Sri Lankan bush, only accessible by 4WD. Head in here and feel the serenity. With just the two tents it's a small, perfectly-formed operation run by the wonderful host Nero, who not only looks after your every need but whips up amazing meals in his little camp kitchen, served on a table under the stars, with a bonfire to complete the magic. In the morning Nero took us on a safari in the nearby Yala National Park, which was magical at sunrise. Highly recommended.

This is such a special place to stay! We saw loads of wildlife around the property and out on the Safari. We booked two jungle family rooms for our family of 4 and they were spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was decent, drinks were yummy, and the service was great. They don't play music at the pool or restaurants and so you become attuned to all of the nature sounds around you. It's a wonderful place and great value!
"Yakaduru Yala is located on the buffer Zone of Yala National Park. It’s Just 5 minutes away from the Yala National Park Entrance.

We stayed at Yakaduru Lodge and had an amazing time. The lodge is close to Yala National Park, which was great for our morning safari. We saw lots of wild animals like leopards, elephants, and monkeys.
Room was made with natural materials to keep it nice and cool inside. We loved the traditional Sri Lankan food they served, book the BBQ under the stars. This is basic luxury in heaven

We visited Yala for two days (with two separate game drives - one evening and one morning one) and although we enjoyed the animals we observed, we did not have any sightings of leopards despite being the national park with the highest concentration in the world. But that is nature so we were just unlucky on those days. However, the most disappointing aspect of Yala was the sheer number of vehicles allowed into the park at one time. As soon as elephants or leopards are sighted, drivers communicate among themselves and vehicles all rush to the scene creating a massive traffic jams. This makes it feel very mass market and doesn’t seem very respectful of the wildlife

Terrible time. No wild animals as expected.
Terrible time. No wild animals as expected. Roads are all around the jungle which is pretty disturbing to the wild life. After all it is supposed to be a protected zone for wild life. Jeeps are crawling every corner of the territory. Amused to see all of that disturbing scenes in a wild life protected zone. It's like business zone. Poor animals.

I loved Yala.
I loved Yala. The number of different animals seen was slightly disappointing but apparently wash outs due to rain prevented us from accessing some internal roads. The sunrise and scenery were stunning. I would rate it as good value despite the lack of animals. The whole experience was wonderful.

The national park in Yala is beautiful however it is hard to drive around as the roads are poorly maintained. There is a large populatin of birds and i think this safari would suit bird watchers more than those who want to see the elephants. The 6am -6pm safari is too long.
Sigiriya is far superior when it comes to large herds of elephants.

The hike in the nature reserve was amazing, we saw lots of amazing animals and landscapes.
Were lucky and we were able to meet the tiger as well.
It is important to note that the trip should take drinks and food, the hotel staff where we were did not tell us the length of the trip and did not make sure to let us know that we should take care of ourselves.
Of course we were smarter and brought with us the necessary equipment ..
But there were those next to us who did not and that was unfortunate

We stayed at Laya Beach resort which was very beautiful and was very close to our safari's which made our stay even better.
The beach, however, was too rough to swim which was a little disappointing.
The staff at Yala Shadow were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, providing top-notch service throughout my visit. From the warm welcome at check-in to the helpful recommendations for nearby attractions, their attentiveness truly enhanced my experience.
As for the accommodations, my room was nothing short of fantastic. Spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean, it offered all the comforts of home and more. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail, from the plush bedding to the eco-friendly toiletries provided.
Very beautiful and special property, I close distance to Yala.
I really enjoyed to stay here, the buildings are open structures, build from wood and palm tree leaves and furnished with amazing taste and sense for details.
The food was great and the whole team took very good care of us, starting with a lot of helpful information during booking, exte Ding to the Safari and the stay. it’s a magical place and I would recommend to anybody that wants to visit Yala or just wants to enjoy some serene days
Leopard Nest in Yala offers a unique glamping experience amidst nature. The tents are spacious and well-equipped, providing comfort without losing the sense of adventure. The staff is attentive and the food is delicious, often featuring local cuisine. However, being close to wildlife means occasional encounters with insects and other creatures, so be prepared. Overall, it's a great option for those seeking a balance between luxury and the thrill of the outdoors.
Really great hotel in the heart of Yala - beautiful rooms which felt like we were in the jungle, and really spacious and done up to a high spec. Staff were very friendly and attentive and we had excellent food. Booked a Safari through the hotel and we were so glad we did - hassle free and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable - saw leopards, sloth bear and elephants! Would recommend to anyone staying in the area for a comfortable and high end option.
Our stay at Udara's place was really amazing, Udara was behaving to us as the family, he took us also to many interesting places, prepared the delicious food for us together with his mother and arranged the beautiful trip to Yala Safari. It was probably our best stay in Sri Lanka. Also the villa and rooms were really beautiful, comfortable, with perfect air condition and strong wifi. Absolutely recommend and hope we will return in future!
Great place to stay if you are wanting to visit Yala for safari. Large rooms, good Sri Lankan food and nice to have the option to use the swimming pool. Good communication with host via WhatsApp He arranged our transfers and an excellent safari trip where we saw elephants. A good base for if you are wanting to visit Yala for safari
After seeing so many excellent reviews I booked this and was not disappointed. Great welcome with cold towels and fresh mango juice! Ananda and his lovely staff treated like royalty! Jeff’s cooking is the best we have had so far in Sri Lanka! Very clean and perfect stay.
Ananda runs a very smooth hotel, he was the best manager.
We were only at the hotel for 1 whole day to go on a safari in Yala National Park, still, it was a very nice stay with a warm welcoming and smiling hosts. We got a nice room with air condition and when we were picked up the next morning at 4:30 am for safari, the host came out with breakfast for us which was very ice.
My friends and me had a very nice stay in this hotel. The house was clean, calm, and the staff was really nice. We took the safari trip to yala with them also and we don’t regret it. It was really well organised and the guide was so motivated! So go for it!
Beautiful hotel with friendly and caring staff. 20 minutes drive from the Yala national park.
Spacious rooms with very nice view on the rice fields. Food was good but not excellent. The general manager is very caring but sometimes a little bit too much.
Aqua Hotel Yala is a sanctuary of comfort and cleanliness! The staff's warmth and professionalism made us feel right at home, while the rooms provided a haven of tranquility after exploring the national park. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
My stay in Cinnamon Wild Yala was excellent! Room was in perfect condition. Both breakfast and dinner buffets were great. Staff were very kind too. I would definitely recommend it to everyone planning a visit in Yala National Park.
Yala Leopard Nest provides a fantastic wildlife experience within Yala National Park. The accommodations are comfortable, the staff is attentive, and the proximity to wildlife is unparalleled. Highly recommended for nature lovers!
Excellent glamping experience in Yala - the tents are great, beds are comfortable. The staff in particular were very helpful and attentive. This is a very remote location though so do be prepared for something a bit off road.
The pool and the atmosphere of living right in the middle of the jungle. Elephants pass by the pool side . The hotel is very comfortable and very relaxing. The staff is super friendly . The hotel is very close to the safari.
Amazing luxury villa in tune with nature. Open air shower was great and so were the trees growing in the villa. Staff are top rate and speak good English. Food also excellent. Ideal for Yala safaris !
This was my second visit. Wanted to add an extra room and they were very accommodating. Didn’t get any food this time coz we only stayed for one night before our yala safari.
The rooms and location were amazing. The staff was friendly and was a great overall experience. A must visit place just to experience luxury living amidst the jungle.
