FAQs about hotels in Cascais

Laid-back Suburban Beach Resort

Cascais is a small city located on the outskirts of Lisbon. Once a fishing village and defence outpost, the royalty transformed it into a stylish summer resort. Mixing beautiful beaches, elegant mansions, imposing fortifications, and a wide variety of hotels, Cascais is a great option for every season.

King Luís II used the city as his summer residence from 1870 to 1908, attracting other celebrities, and changing the destiny of the tranquil village forever. Modern roads and railway lines linking to Lisbon and Sintra were built, as well as a casino and other facilities. Some of the best hotels and 5-star resorts in Cascais date back to these times.

Nowadays, the town is a cosmopolitan beach retreat along the Estoril Coast, where people from Lisbon and other Portugal cities come for a day or weekend escapade. Many foreign tourists prefer its more relaxed hotels over the sometimes hectic Lisbon atmosphere.

Don’t miss the Citadel, rebuilt during the 16th century in a typical star-shaped Renaissance style. Other attractions include the Museum of the Sea and the ‘Paula Rego House of Stories’.

Beach hotels are the gem of Cascais and you can find a wide range on Booking.com. Check your availability with enough time in advance, as the city remains a popular summer destination.

    I am very disappointed.

I am very disappointed. The apartment is nothing like the photos...old and smelly. Very low maintenance to the property. There was a mole at the bathroom and a lot of Flys at the bath and washroom. The smell was awful of some very harsh cleaning liquid mixed with mole smell. They just took a very poor condition apartment and painted everything in white but it is still old and smelly ...painted the mole as well but you could still see and smell it

Cascais is: charming, full of interesting things to see and places to go to, such as great restaurants and beautiful streets to visit, beaches, museums, old estate homes, parks and quality shops to visit. The Cascais train station will also speedily get you to Lisbon. Dont miss this beautiful town and all it has to offer.

    I love Cascais!

I love Cascais! There are many things to do here and nearby locations too. Great restaurants, shopping, beautiful parks, nature walks, cafes, museums, outdoor markets and not far from Cascais are the palaces of Sintra and even a Moorish castle. There is a train station in Cascais with trains that go directly into Lisbon in about 25 minutes. Without hesitation i recommend a visit to this beautiful city. I think you will love it too!

    Cascais is a beautiful area.

Cascais is a beautiful area. Easily one of the most prettiest places we have stayed in. A beautiful beach, shops, restaurants and an array of beautiful buildings. Easy to pop on the train to Lisbon which took 40 mins and worth the few euros it cost. We visited in Nov so the weather wasn't hot but we had a lovely warm breeze plus a few showers but you expect that at that time of year.

Location was very good as it is central to Cascais. Service was pretty good with lots of the staff being very attentive. Hotel externally was extremely impressive as it is the old citadel for the town right by the marina and has impressive views. The room did not have a sra view. Overall ir was the right place to stay but had a few negatives but it is more of a good 4 star hotel than a 5 star. We have stayed in a number of hotels elsewhere and this idod not give me the wow factor internally. But it is a unique setting externally.

We went to Cascais for my mum's birthday, and the hotel staff made us feel so welcome, they made my mum's birthday so special, with a little surprise in our room. Breakfast was excellent, very tasty and good variety for any dietary requirements, fresh local food. The room was comfortable with good size bed, and the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The best part is the staff, they love what they do, and you feel it. I recommend Art 4 you Cascais suites, the team will make you feel like you are part of a family 😊

Amazing hotel, good location, great facilities! Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom, new modern furniture, high speed WIFI, coffee-tea facilities and also great breakfast provided in the dining room! Highly recommended! The hotel is not too big and super cute in a nice little typical Portuguese street, only few steps from the train station. No noise from the street! Really the best option in Cascais!

This hotel is situated perfectly in the center of Cascais, you can easily walk everywhere of interest. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and I had a wonderful stay for nearly a week here. The room was very spacious and had plenty of room to set up your belongings in organized closets, including large space for hanging your clothes. Great hostel+ with a pool and relaxing atmosphere. The best hostel I've stayed at so far! We booked a large, separate room with all the facilities of a nice hotel room. We came from Lisbon to beat the worst of the summer heat and appreciated the efficient ceiling fan and the pool. The hostel caters to those who like new experiences and meeting new people. It is located a short walk from the beach.
