Nice place but the main street was under construction.
Nice place but the main street was under construction. So not that pretty, but once it will be finished it will be nice. Did two hikes and got good info at the tourist information. Try the creps at the small café near to the church in the new buildings. Delicious

I would recommend timing your stay correctly so as to avoid...
I would recommend timing your stay correctly so as to avoid stormy roads on the 420 bend road to Cilaos. I would also recommend you take a drone for drone photography; Cilaos is magnificent and a drone could help show that a bit better.

They have invested much in this property and a real highlight for us us was to enjoy dinner with them, the table d'hote. We can't speak french but this turned out to be a very enjoyable evening for all of us - both using google translate. We learnt much from Reunion also. The weather was kind to us and we could hike to La Chapelle the next morning. It is in a quite part of Cilaos with of course the Piton des Neiges towering above the town

And all this for a pretty good price. The owner understands English and even though she doesn't speak it much, she is very nice and easy to talk to. When I had a technical issue during my stay, she helped me immediately. The location is as good as it gets in Cilaos - just next to a bus stop, not far from some trails and within 10 minutes walk to most shops and restaurants.MMarekNorway

The bathrooms were clean enough and the bed was comfy. I never met the hosts but they knew enough English to help me check in by phone as I arrived after 6 pm and called them to let them know.

The rooms are large and our had lovely views of Notre Dame de Cilaos and Piton des Neiges. The restaurant downstairs serves delicious food.
