Very clean city, polite drivers, calm and warm people, great prices for touristic objectives and souvenirs.
Breb, Săpânța, Sighetul Marmației, Creasta Cocosului were some of the visited locations and they did not disappoint at all, worth a second and third and forth trip :)
I ate in Baia Mare at La Pălincie and at Millennium La Tour, food extremely good, very fast serving, very nice waiters and experience.
It's easy to get around Baia Mare, it's not a very big city, Waze always helps :)
The Mocănița trip was nice also, but too long and very bumpy on the way back. 2 hours one way, 1.5 hours break, then 2 more hours back, traveling with 10-13 km/h. This I would not do again, but I do not regret the experience, it's worth going once!

We ate at Cinquecento restaurant near Regina Maria Park. Exceptional host and lovely neighbourhood. The city has it's beauty spots, easy to drive around but it is getting crammed with cars. People usually are friendly.

The city has a very nice museum of mineralogy (other museums too), a nice view towards the neighboring mountains and is in close proximity to other mountain resorts (Suior, Mogosa, Izvoarele). You can also do trekking towards Ignis peak and Cock's Comb (Creasta Cocosului).

Baia Mare is surrounded by amazing nature, ski slope and hikes opportunities. There are several restaurants that serve delicious meals (we checked just Barbarossa and Dolce Vita). The city has some history pages, cultural events and nice places to go out by night.

After the Satu Mare, the Baia Mare was a pleasant surprise.
After the Satu Mare, the Baia Mare was a pleasant surprise. Very nice town with beautiful museums, excellent modern gallery, small planetarium, a tranquil city park with enormous trees... Local product and food are good and really chip. Baia Mare area also offers a lot: a bit of history and tradition, excellent traditional food even for vegetarians (boletus mushroom f.e.), hikes, unusual rok and mountain formations... a We found magic trout farm with a restaurant in Mara village- Pastrvaria Alex - must visit if you are in the area! We loved our short stay there, it was an absolute positive surprise, we plan to return.
Location is central to old part of Baia Mare, the only area worth visiting in town. The hotel has great solutions for after hours and before hours key drop off and retrieving. We arrived around 10:30 pm, and we were sent a video on instructions about the key location and on operating the lock box. AC works very well and the room is clean. The one girl in charge of breakfast and reception desk was helpful and very nice. Breakfast was good, eggs, cold cuts, cereal, preserves, bread, coffee, juice, tea, cheese, tomatoes and condiments.
When it comes to location, nothing can beat that. The hotel is located right in the very middle of the old town centre of Baia Mare at a beautiful Piata Cetatii, less than 100 m from Piata Libertatii. The room was very clean and comfortable with large bathroom. Water, tea, coffee and some sweets were available free of charge in the room. We had a very good dinner in the restaurant and got offerred 20% off the bill as hotel guests. No private parking, but lots of parking spaces available on adjacent streets.
The hotel is right in the centre of the city, perfect location, very new and clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We stayed on the third floor, which gets a bit too hot even in May but the air conditioning worked really well. Good breakfast (served from 8 am during the weekend) and they have also recently opened a restaurant which unfortunately is not open during the weekend yet so we didn't get to eat there (maybe next time!).
The breakfast was nice two mornings, on the weekend. On weekdays there is no normal breakfast, just eggs, which I normally do not eat. The room was completely overpriced. The hotel was empty, though, on Booking it was said, there are two rooms left. This is ridiculous. Regretfully bad stay.
This hotel is in the middle of nowhere.... It was quiet, clean. Normal size balcony.
We arrived late in the evening, hungry... we were the last people in the restorant to order. The food was absolutely heaven! Through out my trip to Romania we could not find food as good.
The host was flexible as he accepted me even around 23.00 because the Ukrainian border guards had a bad day and didn't want to work...
The room and bathroom was clean, the bed was good.
Thank you, I probably will coose you again when I'll be in Baia Mare next time.
Great hotel with clean room&big, comfy bed. Good utilities: fridge, heat, water boiler. Big balcony with view towards the city. Close to the city center (~10 minutes) & mini markets. The food from breakfast was tasty. Nice staff.
The location is central although Baia Mare is not a big place to start with. Room has a good size, bed is comfy and larger than average. Clean, basic amenities.
The breakfast & coffee were good and plenty
Very good breakfast, beautiful homemade bread. A sunny beautiful room.
The hotel is perfectly situated in a beautiful square. The northern part of Romania is stunning & interesting.
clean, modern accommodation, way better than the hotel options in town. Easy parking, nice restaurants within walking distance. Host is great, always available for anything needed.
Conveniently located in the center of Baia Mare. A nice renovated lobby area, helpful staff. The sound of water fountains from the park on the side of the hotel.
Very friendly staff. It was a very nice room with a very comfy mattress. The breakfast had some traditional romanian dishes but also catered to westeners.
