Great spot in Victoria, amazing views from the accommodation and next door to one of the best restaurants we visited in Mahe, Marie Antoinette. Room was very comfortable and breakfast provided was really good with a great selection of food.

EVERY THING at this establishment was excellent. From reception to leaving I was well taken care of. This place reminded me of an old Cuban Plantation Home. It was beautiful, open and with grate views of Victoria. I was only there one day and was very well surprised. I HOPE that I can get back there one day.

The owner was very helpful when we checked it. We only stayed two of the three nights. The owners were easy to work with. Water and snacks were provided. Parking was provided & the rooms were clean. The surrounding forest was a lush tropical paradise. They provided a nice breakfast.

Cleanliness, view and the owners made us feel welcomed
Victoria city is a clean and safe city. City start winding down as early as 5pm. Central Market, museum, beaches around, great local and international foods. Easy to navigate the city. Car rental available at good price.

Variety of shops. Safe. Cultural. Food is expensive. Beautiful lush terrain. Humid. Bus is best way to travel. Reasonable. When you change buses you have to pay fare again (12 rupees). Cabs are expensive. Many pharmacies if required. Locals are friendly, helpful. Bus service good M- F and Sunday. Minimal Saturday. Not much open Sunday.

Victoria was easily accessed, there were many markets and most people spoke English. There are frequent rain showers that lasted a few minutes which is a relief as it is hot and humid most of the time. The restaurants were great but for South Africans it worked out expensive to eat and drink. There were far too many cars on the road and simply no parking available in Victoria. lovely sights and scenery . The roads that lead over the mountain give way to absolutely breath taking views. The local busses and their drivers were a menace on the road but they provided value for money public transport.

Not the type of capitol city many of us are used too.
Not the type of capitol city many of us are used too. You'll see it all within 2 hours. The tourist offer is pretty slim at best, while any tourist related item prices are very steep. In Seychelles, it's the beaches you'll enjoy, not the city atmosphere.

Victoria is ok, but we spent most of our time renting an apartment (Villa Bella) on the North East point, which was perfect for us. The North East point is far away from any touristy areas, so you'll need a car, which I'd recommend anyways to go to the different beaches, trails, supermarket etc. So stay elsewhere than Victoria is my advice!

As the capital of Seychelles, Victoria is a must see.
As the capital of Seychelles, Victoria is a must see. It is the cultural centre of the country. But the restaurants are very average to poor.
Be prepared to pay tourist rates for everything and forget about coffee, there is none that is drinkable.
For those in a hurry, two days is enough to see Victoria.
Maka Bay was a wonderful surprise for us.
Staff is kind and always available to help with suggestions and reservations. The owner also shared with us a lists of activities which were taking place during our stay.
The room was super clean, with a beautiful view on the ocean and lot of space.
It was full equipped in case you want to prepare your meals.
We spent 5 incredible days at Maka Bay and we fully recommend it.
It’s important to rent a car if you want to visit the island
The view of the room was beautiful over looking Eden Island. The hotel is sitting on a hill where you can see the water with all the boats and even other islands. My partner and I stayed over Christmas. The pool is 24 hrs and is beautiful over looking with all the city lights. The hotel offered early check in and also a shuttle from the airport. The breakfast was delicious, and also included with the stay. Very thankful we choose to stay here!
Marie-Anne and family are very kind and hospitable.-They gave a very good first impression of Seychellois people.
Papaya Self Catering is situated in a very good location up the mountain. It is very easy to get there by bus and car, nearly impossible to get lost for a first time visitor. Not far from Victoria city centre. Close to shops and a Chinese restaurant. About 20 minutes away from Port Launay beach, which I highly recommend.
Really nice accomodation. Large bedroom, very large bathroom and nice and big kitchen having the needed accessories.
Located on the hill with a greate360 panorama, but easy accessible. If you need transport from airport / ferry , talk to the property prior and they can arrange it for you at a decent price (comepred to the taxi prices)
5-7 min to the beach.
Well connected by bus to Victoria city.
Supermarket at 5 min.
There is an amazing view of Victoria, and also the property is recognisable if you are in the bay. We were able to walk down to Victoria, but it is a long way - 30+ minutes to the clock tower. The restaurant in the hotel is unpretentious but has good home cooking (I had the fish curry) at correct prices. Breakfast was plentiful. The hotel ordered a taxi for us as our timings were tight & this worked well.
Due to the higher location, the temperature is noticeably cooler than on the beach. There's also a constant breeze. We didn't need the air conditioning at all.
Very rich breakfast included every day, with lots of different tropical fruits.
The building itself is beautiful. It's very nice and breezy inside.
Nice views from the balcony, which could also easily serve as a birdwatching platform.
Very quiet.
Beautiful, large rooms with a view of Victoria from the "hilltop". Andrew was an impeccable host, who always answered our questions with a smile on his face. We didn't have a car but found it easy to walk around town and catch the bus to nearby beaches. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Everyone was so friendly.
Our host Ricky was more than kind, helpful and professional. The apartments are new and sparklingly clean. The view from all the balconies was really nice and we enjoyed it for our morning coffee before we head to some of the beaches. We would definitely recommend this host and would be happy to visit again!
Comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The location of the apartments is in the central position between northwestern cost with its nice beaches and southwestern cost with other good beaches and also you can easily get to the east cos. So it is very convenient and quick access to all places of the island.
The apartments are on the top floor of this building. A quiet oasis in the midst of a busy town. The perfect location to explore victoria, a change from all the beaches! All the staff both in the office and housekeeping are extremely friendly and helpful. We couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else.
Conveniently situated for airport and dock. We used it for a one night stay before joining a cruise. It’s not a resort hotel or near a beach but perfect for what we needed and extremely good value for money. Great breakfast, comfortable bed and extremely helpful and friendly staff.
Absolutely everything.. appartment was clean, spacious, kitchen is equipped with all necessities.. Personnel was exceptionally nice and helpful.. This is the place to go when visiting Malé, we are recommending to all explorers who like to travel with bit of a comfort.
Excellent place in the nature very close to Victoria and all the beaches around. Very easy to reach with PAPAYA signboard on the road easy to detect. Love this place and its comfort. Very kind hosts could not have better 20/20
Ricky is such a nice host and the property is amazing. The view will leave you breathless. There’s a supermarket nearby and also a nice beach. If you’re planning to stay more than one night, my advice would be to rent a car.
We loved the pool, the beauty and modernness of the suites. Absolutely wonderful, helpful and kind staff! Would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Mahè!
