We open the door and leave, we find I just opened the door and saw mice in the room, I turned around and went to find a hotel, what they show on the internet page is not what I found in that small room, apart from the dirtiness of sleeping among mice, no, don't even ask. I lost my money I just left 😥😥

room was cozy, well furnished. Bed, pillows, linens good. Hostess very pleasant
The room was dirty stuff left from previous guest.
The room was dirty stuff left from previous guest. Towels were so thin they were shredding apart. Smoke detector was not plugged in and working. The door to the bathroom stuck so bad you had to be careful not to get hit when trying to open it. It was cheap so don't expect much.

Not much to do in La Junta.
Not much to do in La Junta. Restaurant choices very limited, and town does not have much to offer.
Surroundings however are beautiful if you are into hiking - the National Comanche Grassland is fascinating. Photo of Purgatoire River near the dinosaur's tracks (a gruesome 12 miles trek!). Plenty of tarantulas looking for love!

My stay here was just a 1 night layover on the way to my destination. Didn't see or hear of much of a reason to use it for more than just a place to rest my head before I headed to my next destination.

I grew up in Las Animas, graduated from High School in Las Animas, many, many years ago. I always feel very safe staying at the Hampton Inn. I have stayed there many times since it opened. My only suggestion, please have the cleaning people check and, if needed, vacuum behind the chair in the double queen rooms where the lamp is located.

We were there to move our son into his dorm at Otero Jr College. It's an older town but seems to have what you might need. The college campus is small but beautiful! We purchased melons from a farm stand in nearby Rocky Ford and they were delicious! The Daylight Donuts is really good and so was the Pizza Hut.
This is a clean older hotel. I served my purpose well. It happened that I accidentally booked 2 rooms - instead of just one, and the front desk person worked with me to transfer the room to a friend of a friend who did not have a room booked. The clerk was careful to protect me as well as help others…. I would say she went the extra mile to help! I will be back!
We cancelled after we arrived the place was not in the best condition kinda scary also the front desk said the pool was closed & unfortunately at that point we felt we would be better off leaving! we were traveling with our 14 year old disabled son & it was not in our best interest to stay at this hotel.

Staff was exceptional. Rooms were very clean and well stocked. The new owner is doing a very good job at updating and fixing the hotel up. It still has a little ways to go but we were surprised at how nice and comfortable it was.
We had a long ride to reach the hotel. The staff was great! They cited options for dinner. They were spot on! The restaurant we chose had outstanding food!
The staff was very helpful and the stay was nice and peaceful. We would definitely stay again, much better than most of the hotels we stayed in on this trip.
