Monument Valley is an awesome place.
Monument Valley is an awesome place. We took the tribal sunrise tour and I highly recommend it! We were planning to take the stargazing tour but it was cloudy, so they offered the sunrise tour or a reschedule in it's place. They also offered a refund, so I really appreciated the options..

Mainly a passing town and not worth a night as the hotel prices are pretty steep. Less food choices as well. One way to see this place is arrive in the morning and leave by late afternoon. A few hours is what you need.

Great spot for a tour both a guided and a self guided if you have time. Just prepare for the weather if you are doing a tour on an open bus! Great Navajo guides and a great opportunity to learn more about Native American people.

in order to best take in the valley - I would give yourself a full day to do the scenic drive within the park, and check out some of the other scenic spots nearby. The scenic drive is only available for a short window mid day so plan accordingly. the formations and local pride in the area is very memorable.

The amount of construction around the scenic areas is shocking. I never expected Monument Valley to be in the middle of housing. It was a very sad thing to see. I guess it's the smell of money that changed Monument Valley into a kind of Disneyland. Based on what I saw, I would not make a detour.

Monument Valley is to be experienced!
Monument Valley is to be experienced! We both drove it ourselves and took a tour. I would highly recommend MV Dineh Rebekah (SP?) Cultural Tour which took us behind public areas and we had the attention of a Dineh Guide. It was magical.

We had a king suite with a kitchenette (a little cottage) because we booked last minute. The unit was quite comfortable with 2 beds, a comfortable living room, bathroom, etc. It was also easy to walk outside to watch sunrise over Monument Valley.
We ate dinner in the restaurant at the resort. Our food (BBQ half chicken with pilaf and vegetables was good an reasonably priced, especially since there aren't other food options nearby.
The resort is a nice place to stay if you can't book the View Lodge.
The location is spectacular and having breakfast with that view is really worth the price of the room. Beds comfortable but I would have liked having at least a microwave in the room. The dining restaurant is nice, the burgers were nothing special though. We also took a tour of the Monument Valley and our tour guide was fenomenal. We did it in April on a very cold and windy day and were not expecting to be that cold and almost freeze on that open bus. I have to say it was worth it though!
Monument Valley is very secluded. With that being said, having a hotel like this with a restaurant attached is very convenient. We stayed for one night and requested the lower level building so our views of the valley were impacted by the hotel. It was a great choice.
The restaurant is good, too!
Alcohol is not sold or available on the reservation, FYI.
The view was the best part about this property, without a doubt. It was a perfect location to see the sunrise in monument valley from our balcony. The restaurant was open for dinner and we tried a Navajo taco (yum). Apparently this was the set where the John Wayne movie was filmed and there was a museum.
The view was phenomenal! The location was excellent! Our room exceeded our expectations and was very clean. We had more than enough room for our large family. We booked a lodge and it was like a tiny home. So cute! The porch view was amazing! Be sure to check out the museum and John Wayne cabin on site
The view over part of the north bit of Monument Valley was excellent. Monument Valley Tribal Park itself was a small 10 minute drive. The room was clean and spaceous. It had a swimming pool. The balcony was very good. It had a small supermarket shop with alot of choice.
the view alone was probably worth the fee. but being so near to Monument Valley, was also nice your minutes from driving to many sites or taking a tour. also with their own restaurant, it’s a one stop type place. I’d advise my friends to consider staying here.
Been waiting 4 years to visit Monument Valley. We stayed in the one bedroom suite. Spacious, with dining table and living space. Sunset Tour (extra cost) was amazing. Very knowledgeable guide.
Reception staff very helpful in suggesting things to see.
Excelent location inside Monument Valley . The hotel has everything you need . From laundry, market , gas station nearby , diner, wifi. We got a very good cabin with all that amenities. Parking was in front of the cabin .
The view is breathtaking.
I enjoyed Goulding’s Lodge, it’s very comfortable, with AC, Water, and kitchenette. I really enjoyed the front porch and having my coffee while enjoying a distant view of Monument Valley.
Location is the second best in the Monument Valley. If you didn't get a room in the Lodge that's inside the valley, this one is the next option to see the Valley from your hotel window.
Great location close to monument valley, easy parking and nice pool to refresh. Spacious room and very clean. Great views from the room over the valley for sunset not sunrise!
House with 3 bedrooms has very comfortable beds and is really big. Even though it's location is between huge rocks behind the hotel, we still loved the view from the terrace!
This hotel is amazing, everything was clean, the room was large and fully equipped, and the views from the balcony were stunning. 100% recommend this place.
