The location was good. We did not spend much time there. We came to Pierre for activities for our grandson and spent most of our time away from the hotel. Breakfast was very good, lots to choose from. The building was nice and quiet; no outside noise.

Great location, amazing staff, clean facility. Everything was exceptional.

I was not informed that there would be no maid or towel service. The room was only stocked with 2 bath towels, no shampoo or hand lotion. I found an extra $10.00 charge on my credit card. I called the hotel for an explanation, it was a resort fee and told it was to cover the continental breakfast which was advertised on there site as FREE and gym and pool fee. I told them I would not pay it, after some discussion, they said they would remove the charge. I am waiting for that to happen. This used to be a good hotel at a fair price. I won't stay again

The Capitol building was nice and the surrounding grounds...
The Capitol building was nice and the surrounding grounds lovely for a stroll. There were statues on most corners - would've been nice to know who they all were - only a few had plaques. Mass at St Peter and Paul's was good - nice priest at 5pm Saturday. "Mad Mary's" was great for dinner. The downtown was pleasant for an evening (hot) stroll

We loved the city!
We loved the city! Loved the Native American Museum, one of the best we've visited! People very friendly. Great airport. We spent quite a bit of time just driving through the community and found it beautiful, clean and orderly. Especially enjoyed walking around the state capitol building and were quite taken by the sculptures of prominent citizens, etc. If it wasn't for the weather, (we live in a desert climate), I could imagine living here. Zestos!! Donut Shop! Especially the island park - beautiful!! We ate at restaurants outside Pierre. We are a retired couple.

Pierre was just an ok place.
Pierre was just an ok place. It was about 3 hours to Mount Rushmore and just under 2 hours to the Bad Lands. There was not much to do in Pierre and not too many actual restaurants to sit at. Only 1 restaurant for a sit down breakfast that was not fast food. We were there for a wedding otherwise we would not have stayed there.

I love how this is the state capital of South Dakota but...
I love how this is the state capital of South Dakota but it's not a huge metropolis!! Beautiful scenery with the Missouri river running through it, just a nice stop to stay on the way to Black Hills or Yellowstone.
want to state first, the two ladies who were at the front desk were extremely nice and helpful but the place good definitely be cleaner and the worst stay of my life because at around 6;15 in the morning the power kept going out in my room for 25 minutes I finally went outside asked what the heck was going on? the worker, replied “what do you have plugged in” REALLY? that’s your response to the power going out in a freaking hotel? absolutely unbelievable he said that. I would never ever stay at this place again.
The entrance to the hotel is set up very nicely, particularly with the Christmas decor. There is a nice area to sit by the fire.
The front staff is excellent.
The rooms were clean with central air, which is a plus in Pierre, as most hotels have window units, which are very noisy and running all the time. It was quiet, so I had a great night sleep.
The wifi speed was decent.
I stayed one night. I checked in on Sunday and left Monday morning. They charged me $50 for bringing two small (under 20 pounds) dogs. The hotel was $60 and the dogs were $50. The front desk lady was very unhelpful when I asked about it.
We stay here every year we stop in Pierre, a great value and location. Every member of the staff is super friendly and make it a positive and comfortable experience.
The location of the hotel was ok as it was on the main highway through town. The heater in the room work well and that was about all I can really say was decent.
