We are snowbirds traveling in May and November-
December annually since 2009. It has been consistent, the employees are pleasant, helpful and there to assist as needed. For those of us who have been doing this “cross country trek” for more than a few years, we have witnessed the changes. Covid was a game changer. Yet the folks here remained consistent. It is important to respect the “locals”. Those folks have few opportunities to move out of the area, most have deep roots in their community. We are so very grateful for the hospitality we have been given over more than 16 years of staying with the Quality Inn. Dining at the Rockin J in its day and subsequently with the Dell restaurant. Thank you for all you do to make we, “nomads” welcome and made to feel at home in your home

I usually stay in Tucumcari on my way from Az. to the mid west to visit my children. This was my first time at the Roadway Inn. I will stay here from now on instead of the other Motels in town that are double the price, and the bonus, it is on Route 66 ++++

Tucumcari is a city rebounding from the loss of rail service in the 1980’s or 90’s. The train depot has been converted to a museum. The charm of vintage vehicles and Historic U.S. Route 66 is evident everywhere. Recommended restaurants: Del’s and Kix 66.

We always like going through Tucumcari when we travel out west. Sometimes we stop and shop. The motet accommodations were very nice. Breakfast was great.
The only thing I have a complaint about is the pet fee. Fees should be according to size of pet.

The property it self was nice enough, but my daughters apple air pods were left and the hotel have failed to return them to us even though we sent a postage paid addressed envelop for their return over 2 months ago and when we initially phoned they confirmed house keeping had handed them into the office. They now will not respond to my emails or Booking.coms attempts to contact them regarding this, so all in all dishonest. I can't find a phone number to call them from oversea's on, the number on the booking only works in USA. Disappointing they have not been returned,
This is a good hotel for a great price. Making it a great value. Rooms a little small, and a little light that was hard to keep out, but once I shut my eyes I didn't notice the light as much. Haha. Overall, everything was good. We were just passing through town and wanted something decent and fairly priced. This fit the bill nicely. To get a warm breakfast at this price was a huge bonus.
Everything! Great position, so quite at night! Room clean and the most comfy bed we ever had on our Route66 travel. Rama and Ray, the owners, are so friendly like we knew them since many years. They give also many tips on what to see and what to do in town. This is a must go while visiting (or just stopping by) Tucumcari.
What a great little find! The owners are so warm and welcoming, and you can tell the rooms have been redone and spruced up so beautifully! I’ve stayed in a few Route 66 hotels and this was by far the nicest. They also go out of their way to make fresh/home cooked breakfast in the morning. Such a treat.
It was very clean, comfortable, and we loved the 60’s motif. It isn’t fancy and if you want unnecessary amenities, ho elsewhere. But if you want a nice hotel that fells like you belong on Route 66, stop here. we will definitely stay there again.
Cute & comfy hotel. The owner Mike is a super nice guy and very welcoming. He's put a lot of effort in keeping the nostalgic route 66 look. It's the only place in town with a bar (besides restaurants)! 5 Stars, Mike. Thanks for your hospitality!
Amazing place, with an authentic atmosphere. This amazing place is the like a timemachine, going back to time, when Tucumcari was a bursting town. The owners so kind, friendly and warm, and I wish the best to them and their family in the future.
If you are travelling Route 66, stay in Tucumcari and book this place. Out of the 15 places we stayed at while travelling the ‘mother road’ this was the best. A gem of a motel and the attention to detail with the 1960s vibe was brilliant.
Breakfast was good, though usual fare for a hotel. Location right by I-40 was perfect. Attractive (and from what it looks like new) facilities. Very nice room and bathroom liked like right out of HGTV.
The breakfast of the hotel was very good and the location was a nice and quiet area. I enjoyed the stay, felt like home and the staff was very sweet. Room was clean, everything worked, nothing was broken.
Several times I have stayed at other motels in Tucumcari. This was my best experience there. There was even adequate parking for the 16 foot truck rental just opposite my room. Great breakfast!
The location was good and the room was much nicer than we expected for the price point. Breakfast was as expected. The hotel is in the process of being updates and the results are good
