We stayed here one night after attending a family event...
We stayed here one night after attending a family event nearby. The motel is basic/no frills, which I expected. Staff member who checked us in was super nice. Room had some sort of odor we could not identify. Took us awhile to log the Roku tv into the internet to use. The toilet handle had to be held down the entire time it was flushing to ensure everything went down. Bed was rock hard and only had 2 pillows (one for each of us). The location was convienant to our event and ok for the one night as a place to sleep for a few hours before heading home, but, would not have wanted to remain there more than the single night

My trip there was atypical.
My trip there was atypical. I wasn't there as a tourist but as a future resident of the neighborhood. Not only was the motel a uniquely satisfying experience, but I made acquaintances at the local breakfast place, and received good information and a welcoming attitude at the Wantage Tnshp. office. High Point State Park is close by. I didn't visit it on this trip, but most certainly will in the future. I am looking forward to becoming part of the neighborhood. (I grew up in the state but not in that area). I ate at Elias Cole's restaurant on Rt. 23 twice for breakfast, and at the Green Olive for dinner. I didn't eat every meal as I was very taken up with house issues. To prepare for a trip to Wantage watch the older movie The Station Agent with Peter Dinklage. That film gives a sense of the ambiance of Wantage, and takes place in Newfoundland, a few miles away. (But no trains in Wantage).
This place totally surprised us in a very positive way. Honestly, it's not much to look at from the outside. But each room is uniquely decorated and sparkly clean. The manager Matthew was very nice, and the price was very reasonable. The motel abuts a wildlife refuge, and is conveniently located to ski areas and hiking trails. We walked the lovely Vernon Boardwalk Trail, which crosses the AT.
Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. I had everything I needed but it was nice to know if I did need something I did not have to hesitate to ask, the staff made very sure of that. The room was nice, there were 4 of us and we didn't feel crowded in the room which was great. The beds are super comfy as well! This will definitely be my go to motel whenever I'm in this area again!!
The location was ideal and they welcomed my dog. The bedding was clean. Not luxury but perfect for a place to sleep where I could bring my dog while I traveled for work. The retro classic real motel key was fun. Communication was great through texting. You get the feeling that they really care about their guests. Pretty area to walk the dog.
the out side looked a little out dated. we were pleasantly surprise how nice the office manager was and accommodating he was. the room was good. only thing my friend missed was her coffee in the morning ,bc there is not coffee maker or ice machine at hotel. price was good. very nice to work with.
Great communication with owner for check-in/check-out
Quaint older Motel but with all the "newest" amenities.
Clean bed, large fridge, great TV & streaming.
Extremely convenient to Sussex County area
By far the best budget motel in this area! Rooms are clean and inviting and well equipped. A little welcome pack of toiletries awaits you upon arrival. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Staff was amazingly friendly, with plenty of walking area for my large dogs on the property. The room was very spacious & even "homey" feeling with the decorations and amenities.
Hiker friendly motel near the AT. Manangement even provided shuttle ride to the trail parking area. Nice, small, private run motel. Would stay at this location again in future.
Hotel is old and looks like a Getho but it slowly been renovated and the new rooms are great, its just the outside that needs more work but i will recommend for a short stay.
