The ice machine area smelled of ironed and there were all the makings of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, with everything open and messy on top of the ice machine. It seemed like maybe a homeless person was there. The bathroom was not very clean, breakfast over promised and under delivered.

Yreka is an old mining town with lots of gold mining history. Walk Miner St. to see very old buildings. Visit the Museum and see great displays and learn the history for yourself.
A couple nice restaurants, lots of fast food eating!

Clean, comfortable place to spend the night.
Clean, comfortable place to spend the night. Staff was very nice. Room was clean. Pool was available, but overlooked the drive through at Taco Bell. Felt weird swimming there. Staff had good recommendations for places to eat. Good stop over on the way home.

I would not say Yreka is a destination unto itself, though I suppose a history or photography buff could enjoy the California state historical district Old Town Yreka (I did not go because it wasn't the purpose of my trip). Mostly just a good city to use as a springboard for the numerous outdoor recreation activities in Northern California. Local coffee company Golden Rush Espresso is a good alternative to Starbucks and with better prices and friendly staff; was happy to support. Local family restaurant Puerto Vallarta is some of the best Mexican food in NorCal and the staff is great. I would avoid Walmart and the scary, homeless druggies outside of it...and the dirty interior with scarce and unhelpful employees. In Yreka itself the gas prices are $0.30 cheaper than the I-5 stop just a few miles south of the city at the Grenada junction.

A staff member moved my reservation to another room.
A staff member moved my reservation to another room. When I returned in the evening a black ribbon was tied to the door handle. When I went to the front desk to ask about the black ribbon the clerk(same one that checked me in) stated they were calling the police and they had no record I had paid for the room. When I demanded he look for my name he found it. I had sanitized my room and requested staff not clean or enter the room. I learned multiple staff members had been in the room when I was out. If it hadn't been so late, I would have left and found another hotel. Worst hotel stay.

Yreka, CA is an extraordinary place to go Horse Back Riding.
Yreka, CA is an extraordinary place to go Horse Back Riding. It has the most absolutely gorgeous stunning views from different Horse Trails Rides. My 5 years old son and I absolutely loved our Horse Back Riding Trails in our stay in Yreka, CA. It was Fantastic!!! Breathtaking!!We will be back soon again.
Check in went well. The attendant was very nice and welcoming. He was professional. The room was modest but clean, clean, clean and well kept up! Everything functioned well. There were thoughtful modifications to the room such as usb plugs at the night stands and standard electrical outlets for each side of each bed. (We rented two queen beds). The windows kept the sounds at bay. When we checked in there was hardly anyone parked at the hotel rooms. The next morning it was full and we did not hear a thing when late motorists must have come in.
It was clean. Everything looked nice and in good or very good condition. We loved the lighting options in the bedroom. The room also had a fridge, microwave, and 2 bottles of water included. The water was very much appreciated as we arrived so late and tired after a looong road trip. Amazing breakfast included. The kiddos loved the food. We had to check out early, but we like that the checkout time was 12pm. Overall, we had an excellent stay! We only wish we could have enjoyed the hotel a few more days!
First and foremost, this motel is extremely clean and neat. My room was spotless as were the grounds - even the pet area evidenced that the motel staff worked to keep everything clean. (So many motel pet areas have so much dog doo that you are afraid to take a step). Second, the television and air conditioner worked perfectly. Third, it is centrally located on Yreka's main street. Lastly, the motel staff are courteous..
Very friendly and courteous checkin, explained hotel facilities, clean room, plenty of space, clean and well maintained bathroom stocked with bathing necessities. On-site Pool enjoyment “10” with warm travel temps! Refrigerator and microwave always appreciated for travel foods we brought with for travels.
Thank you Booking.com and Super 8 for a great visit!
First of all the building we stayed in is not part of main hotel complex, when guest check in they need to explain to guests how to get there. Counter attendant appeared to be in rush to check in us. No toilet paper, room phone non-functional, we used our phone for toilet paper were told to walk 4 blocks to get one, rooms are smelly as it is very old structure

Nice place. The guest room of the hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are average - in line with the price. Crickets in the rooms are certainly bad. The availability of breakfast is a plus. There are board games and billiards.
We only stopped here to sleep for a few hours on a long road trip. The hotel was clean for the price and we were able to park directly in front of our room. It had everything we needed for our short stay.
large quiet rooms and nice beds. I slept well in this hotel.
large parking lot which made it easy to park my pickup truck and my 16 foot trailer
nice restaurant with good food next to hotel.
The employees were helpful and kind, and the pool area looked well maintained. It was easy to navigate the hotel and get to our room and the breakfast area.
