Second time staying here. The staff is so nice, and the hotel is super warm and comfortable. The pool is heated to 26 C, so swimmable even in cool weather. The hotel was very welcoming of our 3 toy poodles. We also love how there is parking available. We plan to stay longer next time and enjoy the amenities.

I am slightly disabled in that my mobility is restricted by arthritis. Chamonix is a beautiful town in itself but it can be difficult to get around at night.I wanted to check out the live music scene but had real difficulty with transport.Although it is free,or cheap all day it is nearly impossible to get a taxi (unless I have been calling the wrong numbers!).I was told by some locals that they are tied up doing airport runs, how true this is I don't know. I think if you have similar problems then book a long time ahead or online.Otherwise the place is brilliant you have breathtaking views of the high mountains above, alpine meadows and a town that wants for nothing. It is easy to visit Les houches Argentiere and all the beautiful ski areas, even if you can't ski there are mountain railways and cable cars. Expensive but well with it. It is becoming my second home now.

A many time visitor, easy to get about on buses or train and some of the best off-piste there is anywhere. Looking forward to the re-opening of the top cable car so the biggest / best runs will be accessible once again. CMD make sure you don't go down the road Vial and Alterra have taken (selling season passes and driving up day tickets to drive sales of these products and thus maxing out their profits) - On vous voyons!!

Skiing in Chamonix is extreemly snow dependant.
Skiing in Chamonix is extreemly snow dependant. Should you be lucky enough to have several days of powder, each of the individual resourts are more than large enough with loads of off-piste opportunites to ski.
However, as this is a season with limitid snow conditions, each individual resourt becomes too small, with too many people on the piste, as there is too litle snow in the terrain. As such, I would much rather recommend the surronding resorts such as Courmayeur or Verbier for a weeks stay, as you then get away from the dayly transport with busses etc.
The need to tranfere between the different resorts to ski by buss is also a negative aspect, as it is pure madness with everyone trying to get on the first bus that comes. I would definitely not recommend Chamonix for families based on this, as younger children would strugle with the stampede....
As a town Chamonix has a lot to offer, with good shops and resturants, but as a ski destination, I will probably not return, but head off to larger interconnected resorts.

The Chamonix valley provides some of the most amazing alpine scenery anywhere. The mountains are stunning and the opportunities for ski and snowboard adventures in winter are endless. That said, this is not the best choice for beginners or early intermediate skiers or boarders. The majority of the terrain is challenging. Also, be prepared to take the free ski bus up and down the valley to experience all that Chamonix has to offer. The main town has an abundance of great restaurants, bars and shops, but consider staying in one of the quieter villages along the valley if you want to avoid the crowds in peak season.

It’s a really impressive town but lacks the charm of an alpine resort such as Avoriaz or Morzine. Logistics are incredibly troublesome getting to a from slopes. We had to really on bus service which is unreliable, overcrowded and insufficient.
It’s definitely not somewhere to take young kids. It really has an adult feel about the place

it is heaven on earth.
it is heaven on earth. I am so at peace when there. 3 months last year. one month this year 2 months next year. you don't go back if it was poor. I ski but if you don't ski there is still plenty to do. I have so much more to explore. the views are unreal. food is more expensive, but I live on a very tight budget and for me it's the same as home. the bus services are great, you can spend a week just exploring on them and are usually free.

The staff at Alpina Eclectic Hotel were outstanding; they were incredibly welcoming and truly excellent, making my stay exceptionally comfortable. The hotel's location was fantastic, providing easy access to nearby attractions and offering a stunning setting that enhanced my holiday experience. Both the breakfast and the restaurant at the hotel were amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes. The high-quality food and the pleasant dining atmosphere significantly contributed to the enjoyment of my stay.
The location is perfect—steps away from the heart of the town or a short walk to mountain trails. Restaurants are as close as next door or all over the village.
We especially enjoyed the river out our door, fabulous mountain views and a garden courtyard to enjoy our coffee and croissants in the morning. Having a coffee and water machine available 24/7 was a nice plus. And our reception hostess (from Ireland) couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful!
While the facility isn’t a 4 or 5 star place, it’s a great place to stay!
This property suited us perfectly. A small but old ski lodge, very clean with double bed, kitchen and lounge. It was so close to teh centre of Chamonix, the train station and bus station. All this with a View of Mont Blanc out window. We loved it. We from Australia are hiking in France and Italy, and while it was not a five star modern hotel, it was five star with facilities and convenience. Our Host Elana gave us perfect directions to get there.
Location of the hotel is at the heart of the shopping district, restaurant and all other shops. Hotel has great room size with good heaters and balcony.
Staff are amazing and helpful, upon checkin small gift given to all guest it was portable glass bottle with led where you can fill it up with fresh water anytime from reception.
Ski shop detached to the hotel as you can rent ski gear with cheap cost.
The three staff who we came across two days were amazing. Specially the 2 girls at check-in. The hotel has no lift and we were staying on the 3rd floor with 2 huge suitcases. One of the girl offered to help us carry them, which we thought were 5 star customer service! And after we checked out I left my ear rings in the room so the girl called me to notify me.
It's relatively inexpensive for Chamonix, especially if you're travelling as a group (though not exactly cheap). 4-person room was very clean and nice, and having private shower and toilet was great. Not too far from the city centre (about 15 minutes walk), there's a supermarket nearby. There's a terrace outside to enjoy the fresh air.
Very friendly helpful staff. Good size bedroom and bathroom. Room had balcony and exceptional view of Mon Blanc.
Not too much noise from road outside, didn't disturb sleep.
First time in Chamonix which we liked very much, we will visit again and definately stay at this hotel.
Free onsite parking for motorbike which was great.
Staff were fab, nice vibe but the decor and design ! Really ??!? You might try and fob us off with your 70’s cool cat ethos but it was tacky & cheap. That’s would be fine but for €200 + a night at a hotel in the middle of nowhere.. it’s waaaay overpriced. Oh, but it does take pets which is great
Gorgeous hotel in a great location. Perfect spot to explore Chamonix-Mont-Blanc from and launch numerous walking options. The hosts are exceptional - kindly solving our travel problem and contributing to a wonderful ambience to the hotel; aided by their lovely Border Terrier!
The location of the residence was very central, close to the lifts, train station and to most bars & restaurants. The parking place underneath the hotel is very convenient!
The staff were very kind, friendly and helpful!
The rooms were very beautifully decorated and equipped!
The room was comfy. Nice bed. A very modern hotel with a good traditional Chamonix touch. Perfect location, right next to the bus station and the Aiguille du midi cable car. Supermarket around the corner. The self-helping coffee bar at the lobby was very helping.
Nice hotel, pleasant stuff, cosy atmosphere at the loby. The hotel is a few minutes by car outside Chamonix city center but there are buses to take or car as parkings in chamonix are quite inexpensive at about 1,40 to 2 euros per hour.
The hotel has stylish facilities, the best chalet-style hotel in Chamonix with great people visiting it. The rooms were clean and the spa was absolutely amazing - won't ever forget swimming with a stunning view on Mont Blanc.
Central location close to restaurants, train and bus. Very cozy and we'll equipped room keeping the charm of the classic hotel with updated facilities like bathrooms, etc.
Great value for a solo traveler.
No fuss and the restaurant is what makes this hotel. Bar and restaurant staff is great and very nice. Great food and drinks at very good prices. 5 Stars to bar and restaurant and its staff.
The location was great, very central. The hotel was cheap by Chamonix standards, especially given we booked very last minute as other plans fell through.
