Trail Motel, hotel in Wallace

Offering free WiFi access, Trail Motel is located in Kellogg, Idaho. The entrance to Coeur D’Alene National Forest is 9.9 mi away.

I have stayed at the Trail motel many times over the years to access the CDL rails-to-trails path. I stay here because of the inexpensive price and nice folks who run it, not for elegance. It is older and in need of maintenance, but it has everything I want- fridge, microwave, coffee pot, and a grocery store a short walk away. And the price can't be beat. That's why I'm here. If you just want basic short-term accommodations without any fluff, it'll work fine for you.

Peak Haven: 2BR Mountain View, hotel in Wallace

Among the facilities at this property are full-day security and private check-in and check-out, along with free Wifi throughout the property.

The facility was well-equipped and immaculate—great views of Kellogg from the condo. The unit had the fastest internet we've ever experienced - fiber. A large TV in the living room is easy to operate. Also, the neighborhood was nice and quiet. There is not much not to like.

Wallace is an awesome little town that almost feels like a movie set opened to tourists. Its the center of the universe... that alone means ya gotta swing by. Its a great stop over. You can walk the town and poke your head in to all the shops in a hour our two so I think 1-2 nights max on the stay meeter. A great place if you going skiing on the boarder or traveling to or from Montana and need a layover.

You can walk the entire downtown core. There’s a lot of history surrounding Wallace; we could have stayed longer to learn more. We ran out of time to walk the stairs throughout town. Con: We’ve never seen so many dogs walking the streets, in the shops, and even on the counter of a bar!

I enjoyed the small, quaint, historic town, nestled in among the trees and mountains. My family loved the silver mining tour, shopping, eating dinner at The Fainting Goat, breakfast at the Brooks Hotel, and the close proximity to The Route of the Hiawatha Trail. This friendly little town is easy to walk around. We had a great time in Wallace!

Wallace is a lot of fun.

Wallace is a lot of fun. There was not any of the famous special events happening. I visited primarily to take advantage of all the GREAT ATV roads around. I went in the spring to do some mushroom hunting. Found morels and slippery jack bolets. Did some fishing. Enjoyed lunch at city limits. Hung out at the metals bar and enjoyed some local musicians and drinks. Wallace is so much fun. I will stay again.

The reason why no Wi-Fi (internet) was critical for me, since there was no WI-FI and no cell phone service, at the hotel or area, it was impossible to coordinate with the group of us that was planning on doing a bike ride. I could not even communicate with family to tell them that I made it to my destination safely or at all. I was completely cut off from everyone I needed to be in contact with, Based on the above, we will not visit Wallace again, especially the Wallace INN.

Loved the history and activities . Great little shops too. Can see kids and adults enjoying this trip. Everyone that I met there was really genuine and I appreciate that. Not all fake like in a large city. Great getaway.

This was a quaint historic hotel. I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable it was. They had WiFi and a television with a selection of movies and a standard simple breakfast. I was especially happy with the hot coffee! Oh, and the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. 😊

They have a nice variety for breakfast. I had avacado toast with eggs and it was delicious. Service was great with hot coffee right away. The location of the hotel is great as it is right downtown where there are several bars and restaurants.
