Williamsburg is a great place to visit with family but it can get expensive. I highly recommend getting a visitors guide and taking advantage of the coupons inside! I always google for deals before visiting too. Theres so much to see and do you can easily spend a whole week just exploring. You can walk around colonial Williamsburg for free but Jamestown you have to pay to see the settlements, forts and ships. For a family of 5 with 1 baby it was almost $100 just to walk around but it was very cool and the gift shop isnt too expensive. The cafeteria was ok and had alot of options. I recommend buying the Williamsburg tickets to explore inside and get a hands on tour. There's so much to see and do. I recommend taking a full day for each location you plan to see.

Tried to do it all in 5 days.
Tried to do it all in 5 days. Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. We are theme park and history geeks, so could have easily spent more time at each. Used Bounce Ticket to combine Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. Of the others, only visited Historic Jamestowne and Yorktown Battlefield for one day each, skipping Jamestown Settlement and American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.

Enjoyed our stay.
Enjoyed our stay. Attended the "Cry Witch' trial which was very entertaining and realistic. Performers did a great job. Also went on
the Haunted Williamsburg one hour tour and heard some great ghost stories from the past.
The Jamestown Scotland Ferry, then the short drive to Smithfield was a nice experience. Ferry runs 24 hrs and is free. Approx. 20 min. ride. Smithfield was interesting with nice shops and places to dine.

This is the third time we have visited and stayed in Williamsburg. We enjoy the vibe there. I have genealogies from the Jamestown community, and similar interests in Norfolk City, Portsmouth and Newport News.
Williamsburg makes for a nice hub to access all those places, and the hotel prices and amenities there are appreciated. Staying at some of the in-town venues can be quite pricey; the Comfort Suites is a nice example of good value. Dave

Dined at various restaurants where the establishments were very clean and the food was good. Driving around Williamsburg is very easy. We also took a drive down to the ferry to Surry Seafood restaurant. This is a great little restaurant right on the water (river). We continued to Smithfield where we enjoyed the museums and many shops, boutiques. Ice cream parlor near the museum had great ice cream.

Overall, Williamsburg was a beautiful city to visit.
Overall, Williamsburg was a beautiful city to visit. Definitely coming back! Trash and liter always takes away from the overall appearance of a city, community and country. Rarely saw so much trash while visiting overseas. In America 🇺🇸 way too much.
This is my "go to" hotel when I travel to Williamsburg VA. It is a very clean, comfortable, well located and well run property. The management and staff are very friendly and well versed in how to treat a customer correctly. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, the hotel itself is very nicely located near just about anything you could need (food, shopping and tourist attractions). Given the choice, I will always choose to come to this venue.
The room was exactly what we were hoping for. Good size, and we really appreciated the kitchenette with microwave, sink, and fridge, it was even stocked with paper towels. Very little noise from other rooms. Breakfast was particularly excellent on the week days. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The discount on the room made it a reasonable value for the area. It was an easy drive to get from the hotel to downtown Williamsburg.
We were able to book the “Queen’s Suite” where Queen Elizabeth stayed when she visited Williamsburg. Exquisitely beautiful and luxurious hotel and suite. The breakfast is an amazing experience in both food, service and decor. We looked forward to turn down service each evening. Perfect location to simply walk to the Colonial area or stroll the manicured grounds. My son was impressed with their bourbon selections.
Loved everything! Charming Bed&Breakfast, with cosy rooms, super delicious and varied breakfast prepared fresh every day (the host accommodated the lactose intolerance of my husband), super friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. We arrived after check-in hours and the host had left an envelope with the key and instructions/tips. Walking distance to historic Williamsburg and to the train station. Highly recommended!
The price of stay is affordable. Clean room. Breakfast is included in your stay. Selection of breakfast items needs to be extended. One morning, meat was served next to eggs.
The hotel location is in close proximity to the Williamsburg visiting center, where you can leave your car at no charge and get on a free bus shuttle, which brings you to the town historic center.
Gorgeous large room with, a friendly manager and staff. Clean, soft towels, great shower, wonderfully comfortable bed. An incredibly reasonable price. It will now be a hotel of choice. Stayed there twice in one week traveling from CT to Atlanta on Business - our halfway point and love the proximity to Colonial Williamsburg—an excellent surprise.
The Griffin Hotel is the cheaper sister to The Colonial in Williamsburg. It misses the beauty & style of the Colonial but the room(s) were huge. Out of style and a lumpy sofa but it was fine. We were traveling with out teens looking at Uni's - so the Griffin met the brief. We were able to walk over to the Colonial for a cocktail in the evening.
Room is great for family.
Lots of lamps
Beds are very comfortable
Breakfast is ok.
Pool is great with kids
Close to all we wanted to visit ( Jamestown, Williamsburg...)
Lot of shops and restaurants around ( Aldi is around the corner. Great for last minute groceries for a picnic)
The location is fantastic. The hotel is old fashioned but suits our needs perfectly. The pool is one of the best we've used. We would definitely stay here again. We have been using this hotel when in Williamsburg for about five years now.
Had not expected "room" to be, in effect, a spacious, completely furnished small apartment. Conveniently located about five minutes by car, 40 minutes walking (walkable neighborhood), from William & Mary campus, and Colonial Williamsburg.
Very clean, comfortable and quiet room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a better than average hotel buffet, plenty of choice which changed every day. Ideal for the old town. Choice of walkable restaurants nearby.
The location is perfect for visiting Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. Conveniently located near all the major roads connecting to important areas. Ample parking. Breakfast is the standard hotel fare but gets the job done.
This hotel has a personable and professional staff. The hotel seems relatively new and is very clean and has a fresh feeling to it. Very convenient to restaurants, gas stations and Colonial Williamsburg.
The hotel was clean, spacious and comfortable. The room was brightly colored with orange and white walls and I loved the painted exposed brick in the room and throughout the hotel
