A fabulous hotel in a fabulous town. It was as if we were gently immersed in the entourage of fairy tales by the brothers Grimm :) The hotel is in an authentic building, elegantly furnished and decorated in vintage style, everything looks appropriate and cozy. The room is warm and cozy, a large comfortable bed. Nice helpful staff. Delicious breakfasts in magical interiors. Thank you for the German fairy tale))

The apartment we had was clean and comfortable. We found the bed very comfortable, maybe a bit too firm for some. The apartment is part of a mill complex and is family run. The place was so peaceful and who doesn’t want to fall asleep to the glorious sound of running water! The location was perfect, easy to park there and walk up in to Rothenburg, it is uphill but we are in our seventies and managed it with comparative ease in about 10 minutes. Parts of the mill are very old and the history of the place was visible in the buildings. The family who own the place were lovely and friendly and very welcoming. We felt the apartment was excellent value for money, we have stayed in similar places in the English Lake District but at three times the cost. Highly recommended!

Incredible host, thank you for having us. We will come back just because this hotel (of course the town). Really close to the center and there is a super market 2 blocks back. Warm, delicious breakfast, facilities to leave our stroller in the common space and table toys for children ❤️

The location of this hotel is stunning - one step out and you're on the main square! The building itself is like a small museum be it exteriors or the interior, it's just perfectly beautiful 14th century house (please remember this fact). There's also a cute 9 and 3/4 room on the second floor! The staff was amazing at everything. They were extremely friendly, helpful, polite and nice. Firstly, me and my sister arrived at the city way before the check in starts and just wanted to leave our stuff at the luggage room but the we were told that we can actually check in right now. Secondly, we didn't have a kettle in the room but were welcomed to ask for hot water at the restaurant (it is on the first floor and is absolutely wonderful) which we did several evenings in a row. The restaurant staff never failed to please us - we had two meals here only because there were some restaurants that I picked months ago so didn't have to have dinner everyday at the same place, but we totally could do so at the Goldener Greifen, The breakfast is included in the price of the room and we've enjoyed every bite and sip of it. Our room was big enough for two people. It was warm even when the heating was turned off and it's a great thing in February. The mattresses and pillows were great, I had good sleep for all 4 nights we were staying here and even my bad neck wasn't hurting.

Stayed at the hotel with the family for 1 night during our road trip. The location was great since it's located in town's center (old town), private parking at the facility. The room was cozy and clean with comfy beds except the (puffy) pillows - but that's a matter of habit. The staff was very kind and the breakfast was delicious with vast options. Would stay again when in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
