Full of children and fun, this is the centre of Copenhagen and you should not miss it. They manage to keep the children happy with the rollercosters and the more mature with the gardens. They have managed to have a bit of everything for everyone.
The Saturday night light show was ok, maybe not for me however the live concert and singing was fantastic and kept the crowd on their feet. The night ended with fireworks and impressive.
Was not my intention to visit however glad I did.

There are a number of entrances to Tivoli so don't worry if 1 seems packed. We were there for Christmas and so the decorations were excellent. Sometimes it is difficult to get places to eat, so if you are looking to eat lunchtimes or evenings, it may be better to book.
Biggest Tip, play Gallopen it is the best and great fun. Sanitise your hands afterwards though , you will see why.

Book lunch tables if you want to eat in one of the restaurants.
The food court in Tivoli garden is good always crowded and the Indian vegetarian food was very average.

You will always find a CROWD in front of these gardens....
You will always find a CROWD in front of these gardens....and this is because they are the oldest amusement gardens in the world!!! Not because of the rides, or the grounds as nowadays you do find bigger and more challenging amusement parks. But this one IS in the middle of the city, which is ad advantage, you don t have to go too far or take trains, or buses....
If you have kids, you better take the Family ticket pack, because otherwise you will feel guilty you didnt take them to this! I came here as an adult, so I guess I left the rides out, and some of them are quite challenging even for the brave! Independently of this, there are nice restaurants of all types of cuisine on the Tivoli gardens grounds.
From fastfood to Michelin star quality, you just have to be in Tivoli Gardens! I advice to go in the afternoon as you can catch the theatres presentations and the Light and music show which we saw (and probably changes with seasons) whch was spectacular!
It gives a magic touch to the otherwise seemingly "kitchy decor" but amusement parks do play with what reality is. And it would not be an amusement park if it was perfectly decorated with subdued colors, would it?
Tivoli Gardens is an institution, and I liked to visit it and know more about it.

The hotel was located in a good location; 10 minutes from the train station and Tivoli Gardens. They offer luggage storage which is very convenient. Checkin was very fast and easy too.
It is a lovely hotel, very close to Tivoli Gardens and many other sites. The entire ambiance of the place added interest to our stay in Copenhagen. Not too far from the train station, either. All in all a great place to stay in Copenhagen.
Location of Grand Joanne is fantastic. Conveniently less than a block from the Copenhagen central train station and an easy walk to Stroget Shopping area and Tivoli Gardens. Room was well equipped and the heated bathroom floors were definitely a plus. Restaurant in hotel served a great dinner. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful!
The hotel lobby was absolutely gorgeous. We had coffee and a snack as well as cocktails and both experiences were wonderful. The rooms were beautifully designed. I used the gym and while small, had everything I needed. We reserved time poolside, it was the off season so it was quiet, but we appreciated that. The hotel is located kitty corner from Tivoli Gardens and close to everything. Would stay here again.
Excellent location: very close to Copenhagen Central Station and Tivoli Gardens, also head to The Old Irish Pub if you want to have a great party time (5 minutes walk to it). At the hostel, there is a 24-hour working reception for everything you may need and a spacious lobby for hanging out and playing games. Although the room seems small, it is well planned and the beds are comfortable. All in all - very good accomodation choice for a group of friends.
The hotel is close to the main train station and Tivoli Gardens and a short walk to Nyhavn and other sites. Everything was clean, but a bit aged, as this is an older hotel. The breakfast is adequate if you are there for business or on the go. The free wine (small pours) was a nice plus.
The location was excellent....close to lots of restaurants, Tivoli Gardens and walkable to all major sites and city excursions. Hotel staff very accommodating. The breakfast had some nice selections.
Walking distance from Central Station and Tivoli Gardens. It was close to great food and museums. We did discover there are more than one Hop on Hop Off. Ours started at Radisson Collection Royal Hotel. Nice social area you might need as rooms are very small, but adequate. We would definitely recommend and stay next visit. McDonalds, Starbucks, 7/11 etc. at Central Station.
We were impressed by the friendly vibe of Next House - it's a hostel with a real difference!
The facilities were exceptionally good
The bed "modules" were fun & quirky - our daughter was most excited to have a "cubby house" in the room
The location is excellent - bus at door, trains/ Tivoli Gardens a short stroll away
Would certainly stay again

Tivoli Gardens is a place to spend even a whole day
Tivoli Gardens is a place to spend even a whole day. If you want to avoid the crowds, go in in the afternoon, at least 2-3 hours before the start of the concert. The public transport is very reliable (if you get directions from google maps, even the schedule is perfectly held), however it is best to walk around the city (the major attractions are relatively near to each other, you see everything by foot for 3 days by walking around 7-8 km daily).
