This place is really special. The peace and energy you can feel here, I have never experienced anywhere. A place where you can only here the birds, the wind an waves. A place with raw beauty, that takes your breath away. The decoration and love for the details are absolutely stunning. The beds are so confortable, the room has all you need, even a small bag to take your towels to the beach. Everything is so clean and well mantained. The Food is of a really high quality and delicious! The bread for the breakfast is served warm with really good jam and butter. Heaven! The Fruits and Juices are delicious! The dinner was everyday outstanding. Sofia and Fernando are passionate chefs! But let’s talk about the Staff… they really are something else and make this place stand out. Rosa is a true host with a big smile, very professional and always looking to please you. Elisangelo, Aleandro and Leo always very kind and with a big smile, ready to fulfill any wish of the guests. This people work with the heart and are so professional, with their big smiles - so contagious! It’s impossible not to carry them in your hearts. To thank them is an understatement, we absolutely fell in love with this peace an people. The raw beauty of the beaches in the area are stunning, different from Sal Rei etc. but beautiful in it’s own way. With turtles and sharks, you can feel nature in a heartbeat. The Shuttle Service three times a qeek to go to Sal Rei is amazing! During the ride you can always meet locals, which take a ride to Bofareira (a small little village nearby) which is amazing and ecological. This place is really a hidden gem with a special energy and we will return for sure! OBRIGADA Spinguera Team!

The people of Boa Vista were the highlight of my trip , so kind, caring and chilled out. We kite surfed a lot with the guys from kite kriol next to morabeza beach bar (not the school inside the bar but to the left if you're facing the sea) who were great and local. Also enjoyed touring the island and seeing all the natural beauty it has to offer.
Sal Rei, Boa Vista, was a complete change for us after spending time in Santa Maria, Sal, beforehand. It's quieter, but with fewer amenities and a little less choice. The restaurants are also a little more expensive, but this is probably due to limited clientele. However, the Esplanade restaurant in the town square was our favourite restaurant (the locals seemed to like it so, we followed them), also the Kriole restaurant near the shell garage and Blue Marlin restaurant. It was a nice change of pace for a week and I would recommend it for a bit of r&r. I wouldn't necessarily bother with the expensive tours as you can see quite a few things yourself. We hired a scooter for a day for 25 euros from Francesca and Luca at Modu Scooters (just behind the car wash area in Sal Rei) and managed to get to see the Santa Maria wreck (we could only go so far on the scooter and parked up on the hill and walked the rest of the way) and the Povocao Velha which can be walked around easily in 20 mins. We also got down to Praia Chaves and Rabil. If you want to see other parts of the island, it's worth hiring a quad due to the roads not being more than sand and dirt. KiteKriol were the company we chose to do kitesurfing with and they were brilliant. They are next to Morabeza bar and restaurant on Estoril beach, about 20 mins walk along the beach (although we found it easier to walk through the sand lots behind the buildings past Kriole restaurant and petrol stations as the going was a little easier. These guys work really hard and, as they are a little further past the other kite surfing outfits, you can see they might not get as much business. They were busy when we were there, but totally deserve the recommendation.
Hoping Sal Rei doesn't get to developed, it's like going back in time. Enjoyed Walkan Bar, a boat in the street, very pleasant owners. Catchupa, their local dish at Esplanada was great. Ate at the restaurant on the pier, the fish of the day great value for money. The beaches in Sal Rei are awesome. Boa Vista Social Club has complimentary sun loungers if you eat or drink with them.
Best place we ate was at Hotel Estoril, they do a great filet mignon. Also the beach bars on Estoril beach are all great especially Tortuga which has the most comfortable sun loungers and really nice food. We had a great carnival night in Boa Vista Social Club. Sal Rei square had a few annoying guys trying to get us to use their taxis when we didn't need them as its easy to walk everywhere. The food is mostly fish/meat with potatoes and rice or pasta/seafood risotto etc, and on the whole enjoyable, I'd avoid cafe Coco for food though. Naida was cheap and cheerful. Blue Marlin was decent. Went to Morobeza bar/restaurant on our last night and the food was good but more expensive for smaller, well presented portions, the two cocktails we had were nothing special, bit disappointed there.
If you like water sports Boa vista is a good destination. In Sal Rei you literally can't get rid of people, who try selling you things. We ate at some nice restaurants though.
Everything you need for a relaxing break. We noticed that most of our flight departed of to the resorts, which mean't that when we arrive in Sal Rei, we had the pick of the beaches and more or less to ourselves! Tortuga Beach was a regular daytime destination for us, lovely staff and reasonably priced lunches. The Italian 'Menera Restaurant' was a definite evening meal highlight with the Amberjack carpaccio being notably good. The local fish market was great, get down early and be prepared to get your elbows out. Its worth braving the hustle and bustle to get your hands on some of the freshest fish you will ever eat. The women on the stalls will also (crudely) fillet it for you. The local currency is a flat '1 for 1' exchange rate with the euro. you can buy a meal with a mixture of CVE and Euros. It's not the cheapest of destinations with prices relatively similar to that of a european destination — but that can be forgiven when you remember you're visiting a desert island, with most of the goods being imported. Olive oil, salt, bread and fish are cheap and abundant however! Highly recommend a trip to Boa Vista and a stay in Sal Rei
Gorgeous beaches. If you are looking for a place to RELAX, Boa Vista is for you.
Sal Rei
I spent a lovely week in this beautiful apartment. It's very well equipped, I was able to cook (freshly caught fish mainly). I appreciated the Italian coffee maker in the mornings. Shops, vegetable and fish market are walking distance away as well as Estoril beach. I absolutely loved the sound of waves, especially at night time. Overall I felt so comfortable as I was home. Also, Monica will help you with anything you may need. If you're planning to visit Boa Vista, look no further.
Michela is a very sympathetic host. She gave us very good information about the island and good restaurants. And the first night she brought us to the grocery so we bought some food. The apartment is very clean and has a perfect location with Seaview. I can 1000% recommend the apartment. Thank you for being such a nice and warm host Michela. When we come back to Boa Vista we will stay there for sure again 😊
Sal Rei
The location, accessibility, and size of the apartment were great, just like the responsiveness of the hosts. If things didn't work they took care of it immediately and organized an amazing quad tour for me as well. I felt very well taken care of and enjoyed my time in Boa Vista. I can recommend this apartment without any doubts if some things will be improved (s. section about the cons).
Superb apartment located at one of the most beautiful beaches on Boa Vista with an astonishing view on the beach from the bedroom. The breakfast, which was prepared every morning at our terrace, was outstanding and the perfect start into the day. Meghi did also prepare a wonderful and delicious dinner for my gf‘s birthday as a surprise
A perfect area in Boa Vista to get acustomed to capverdian life. The apartment is cheerfully decorated. It has wonderful seaviews and is smack in the middle of things. And WLAN is fast. Michela was the perfect host, always available and very helpful. She gave us many ideas for things to do and good advice. We would definitly come back!
Sal Rei
Family hotel with lovely hosts. Near to everything - stores, center, ferry terminal, 3 wonderful beaches. You will feel very welcomed there, safe and comfortable. Do not miss to book, this place worth it! My stay there was just cool and in case i return in CV / Boa Vista, this will be my fist choice to stay at!
We always love coming to this hotel & would stay at no other hotel on Boa Vista. The staff are close friends to us & we would recommend the hotel to anyone.
Sal Rei
Very nice, clean and cozy apartment. The owners are very nice. We really recommend it as the place to stay in Boa Vista.
We loved Guest House Orquidea, and Orquidea, the owner, was lovely. We traveled around Cabo Verde for about 2 weeks and this was our favorite place. A little pricier than other places we stayed but worth it. The breakfast is in a beautiful courtyard and breakfast is fruit, eggs, cheese, yogurt, bread, etc. Orquidea gave us good tips for traveling around. The property is very close to the beach but also conveniently located to restaurants in town. The room was nicely decorated, clean, and had a beautiful ocean view. Our balcony had 2 hammocks for relaxing and indeed we did relax. My husband and I are pretty laid back and aren't into resorts or luxury hotels. We prefer smaller more personable places. I would say Guest House Orquidea falls into the category of boutique guest house. It was the perfect setting for us for the end of our honeymoon. We were able to unwind and enjoy. I truly enjoyed speaking with Orquidea and her cousin. They were so warm and friendly. I really hope we get to visit Cabo Verde again in the future. If we do, we will definitely stay at Orquidea.
