NH Gran Hotel Casino de Extremadura is next to the Guadiana River, 10 minutes’ walk from Badajoz city center and Alcazaba Fortress. It offers free WiFi and houses the Gran Casino de Extremadura. The facilities are excellent, the room was quiet (with a nice view of the Guadiana river) and the location was also very good (close to the bridge that leads to the old town). But the highlight was the amicability and professionalism of its staff, particularly DAVID at the reception who went out of his way to give us a nicer room and much earlier than the standard check-in time. This is the attitude that differentiates certain hotel staff from others, and DAVID's attitude in pleasing the customer is rated at the top of his profession. I congratulate NH Extremadura for the quality of its staff, as represented by DAVID.

Housed in a former convent, built in the 15th century, the Parador de Plasencia hotel has kept its stunning, original architecture, including spacious hallways, archways and courtyards. The Parador is exceptional !!! The bar in the bodega and the wellness center with sauna, jacuzzi was a great surprise. The staff at the reception were very kind.

We had a nice dinner and a powerful breakfast in the restaurant. 100% recommended if you are passing through Badajoz area and need a place to stay.

It is a to-order type of buffet. They kept giving me food. 2) The room was really nice, the bed was fantastic. It is just a bit weird that the shower is part of the room and not with the toilet. It is ok since I am alone but very weird if I am with another person. 3) The hotel is very pretty, it is a posh old house in the city center.

The bed was very comfortable, the airconditioning worked well (very necessary in Extremadura in mid-summer) and the bathroom was clean and very serviceable. It would have been nice to have an electric coffee machine, but there were many restaurants close by that served coffee and breakfast at very reasonable prices.

Don Julio is a hotel of outstanding quality in every aspect. It is a typical Casona of Extremadura with lovely traditional furnishings and large comfortable bedrooms. The gardens are a delight and there is ample parking space as well. The breakfast is ample and varied. It is good value.

The location of the hotel is great - walking distance into the wonderful town of Trujillo and with easy access to main roads. The staff are friendly and helpful although very little English spoken. We had two evening meals there which were fine although showing the usual Spanish absence of vegetables (chips with everything). The room was adequate although the bathroom could do with some work.

What a wonderful place! From the warm welcome from Ana who showed us around, to the charming and clean 2 bedroom unit with comfortable beds, Air-conditioning, kitchen with everything needed. Ana even left some bread, pastries, coffee, milk, jam, juice, etc. in the fridge for our breakfast. The green grounds are Park like, with a swimming pool. Fully enjoyed the tranquility and the beauty of the place. Will definitely return.
