In the Rio Dulce river near a 16th century castle the Tortugal Boutique River Lodge peninsula is bathed by almost constant on shore breezes providing a cool and refreshing place. What did we like? All of it! The rooms are tastefully decorated. They were very comfy, despite being in the middle of nature. Attentive staff, picked us up to and fro Rio Dulce. Good food, cold beers. Very refreshing to be able to jump in the river when hot!

El Hotelito Perdido is a little jungle hideaway located in a middle of Rio Dulce National Park. Everything 😊 It’s a little gem of a place in a paradise setting! Food is wonderful and you won’t go hungry that’s for sure. There’s plenty to do and it’s very affordable. The team (staff and owners) is super sweet and always there to help make your stay happy and easy. Thank you for such an amazing stay!!!

Located in Izabal, 28 miles from Castle of San Felipe de Lara, Reserva Natural Cañón Seacacar has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Perfect place hidden in a small village. It’s the only accommodation in the village and has been build to help the local community. The first language in the village is Q’eqchi, the children are now learning Spanish in school from about age 5. The staff of the hotel is from the village and for them it is a place to learn and work in tourism. They are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a great Guatemalan experience in one of the most beautiful places of Guatemala, where the crowds don’t go (yet), this is where you want to go! I reached the hotel by a two hour trail that is insanely beautiful, constructed by the people of the village, easy to follow and a good climb to two wooden miradors with lake and jungle views. Always with the sound of absolutely fantastic river ‘sauce’ on the background. The next day I went down on a tube and they carried my bag down. The tubing in the river is what will drop your yaws!! Absolutely beautiful, a cañón with high Walls on both sides. Everything is well organized and clean. It absolutely worth a visit! I’m writing this review because I could not believe that I was the only tourist there (on a Saturday)! You will not regret your visit and you will probably (hopefully) write a similar review to help this village and the people creating a better future for there town. There are several projects ongoing, including deforestation! Go and enjoy jungle, river and peace while enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation(affordable too!)

Hotel Kangaroo y Restaurante has a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Río Dulce. The property has room service, a concierge service and currency exchange for guests. This is an amazing and unique stay. The only way to get to it is by boat and with that, you already know you're in for something unique. The staff were very helpful and helped us with whatever we needed. We stayed in the shared dormitory and it was just amazing

Nanajuana Río Dulce has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center and bar in Río Dulce. Among the various facilities of this property are a shared lounge, a garden and barbecue facilities.... Staff were so friendly and helpful. Pool was refreshing- needs a paint but I believe this is about to happen. Room was simple but comfortable. Good shower with hot water. Beds were very comfy. Lovely calm atmosphere. Restaurant and pool look out over the river. Dinner at restaurant was a bit pricey but good quality. Feels safe with a security gate and a long driveway off the main road.

Located in Río Dulce, 3.4 miles from Castle of San Felipe de Lara, Hotel Real del Rio features views of the pool. Nice staff and room! It is noisy die to the road but if you live in the city it is the same amount of noise. We were so tired from our trip from Mexico city and went straight to Rio dulce it was easy for us to fall a sleep Also pick up (collectivo/public boat) from the hotel to Livingstone and other river lodges

It’s close to castle,the price is budget,the room is comfortable,and the staffs and owner are very friendly to answer my questions,also they would like to do housekeeping for u everyday.
