With a beautiful, peaceful location and stunning lake views over Lough Ree, this 4-star hotel offers total relaxation, with good food, great wine, spa treatments and luxurious air-conditioned rooms. Beautiful setting on a nice lake. The outdoor spaces, especially the hot tub on the docks and fireplace were so nice.

Surrounded by beautiful gardens, Shamrock Lodge Hotel is a family-run hotel in the very center of Ireland, just a 5 minute walk from the restaurants, bars, and nightlife of central Athlone. We had an unusual experience during our stay here. We had a lovely room, very large and comfortable, and all the reception people we dealt with were very helpful. In the morning after our first night, my husband had a kidney stone attack, and we had to go to the hospital. It was a Sunday and the receptionist told us we needed to go to Portiuncula Hospital and she called a taxi. After that, he was admitted to hospital, and I was on my own for the next night and I had to add on one more night, which was in a smaller room, but equally as comfortable. I appreciated being able to have dinner at the hotel for the two nights on my own, and the meals were very good. I had the breakfast on one morning, and it was very good, with lots of variety. I also appreciated the kindness and understanding of the reception staff. On the morning I left, because I had to wait for a taxi, the receptionist had tea and a biscuit brought to me. It was a memorable stay, perhaps for the wrong reasons, but I will always remember the staff at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.

Very friendly staff. Great spa-location, especially the sauna was very relaxing. Cute location with castlelike structures made us feel like being in a fairytale.

This 4-star hotel has a Championship golf course and is 5 miles from Athlone. All newly reformed rooms at the Glasson Lakehouse have free Wi-Fi, TVs and a room service menu. Decor, staff and location were fabulous. Such a great hotel and an experience I would recommend anyone to try. Also you can bring your doggie which was lovely

On the banks of the River Shannon, Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone is located in the town center, overlooking the historic Athlone Castle. The hotel has a modern leisure club and stylish restaurant. After a lot of days of walking in the rain it was nice to be in a cozy hotel steps away from the city sites. And a nice pool, steamroom and sauna to relax and feel warm Ease of check-in despite a lot of people checking in at the same time. Staff was very helpful and calm.

Located on the verge of Roscommon Town, this family-run hotel offers spacious, quality accommodations, free high-speed Wi-Fi and first class food. Great property, as we were to leave for airport the next day the location was great. The staff were great, arrived early and they had a room ready. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic.
