Location is remote (not far from the bullet train tracks that hiss by - not bothersome) but close to Hakodate, hiking and nice local onsen. Hakodate is definitely a unique Japanese city, very laid-Back, interesting history and on the verge of becoming a major tourist attraction - so visit soon.

I limped into the hotel accompanied by 2 JR Railway people, because I had taken a bad fall on a station escalator. The hotel staff was caring and also quick to understand that I needed to be in a room and resting. They also quickly understood I needed some ice for my eye which was turning black. They also helped me getting my 2 bags to the room. The hotel had a “curry service” for dinner, which wasn’t advertised through Booking, but was a delicious surprise. I had to leave before having any breakfast, but I had experienced an amazing breakfast buffet at another one of their hotels at Narita airport. When I say amazing, I mean amazing. I like this hotel chain, and think that it has incredible value for what I paid. I will be at another one of their hotels when I arrive in Shinjuku.
