Beautiful location, I would recommend to get the superior room, which is exceptional. The view from the balcony is stunning. The setting of the restaurant is just as wonderful. Highly recommended.

The personnel was very attentive and polite. The view to the river from the balcony was just amazing! The whole hotel was decorated in a very stylish manner. The shower and toilet are separated, which is very rare in this part of the world. Price/quality ratio was excellent.

What a perfect stay. I loved it at Residence Bassac. Recently refurbed the place glows with care and is spotless. I couldn’t decide at first on a double with river view or the two story with balcony and was very happy with the later. Super spacious with a great layout and furnishings. AC is strong and lots of great little touches including turn down service. The staff were very helpful and friendly, arranging a scooter, tuktuks and airport taxis. The restaurant has a beautiful open setting to the street and river. And best of all Vat Phou is about 20mins away. I’d gladly stay again, sad to go!

Bontai Resort, Don Khon has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Ban Khon. The air-conditioned rooms provide a lake view and come with a wardrobe and free WiFi. Everything was perfect. We felt welcomed by the staff and everyone was genuinely kind and friendly. The wife of the owner is cooking absolutely amazing and we ate there every day. Free bike to ride around the island.

Nice rooftop pool, good breakfast, good size room with view of the Mekong, extremely clean, huge bed! The staff were very pleasant. The roadworks that a few reviews mentioned didn't bother us at all. Local dining options are limited, but for Thai Lao fusion food, head out the hotel front door and turn left and then take the first left street. Walk approx 100 or so metres to just beyond the 2 zebra crossings and on the right is Cham Pahom Restaurant. From the outside it looks a bit rough but it's actually very interesting and quirky on the inside, full of antiques and curios. The food is excellent and inexpensive, ice cold beer. Run by an interesting Thai bloke with great staff.

Don Khone is the place to be, if you're trying to decide. we almost stayed in Don Det, and I am so glad I spent a bit extra and came here. The village is lovely, the whole island is really nice to bike around, and Sala Done Khone is lovely. The AC works very well, the floating studios are lovely, and the breakfast is great and large. The other meals are also good at the restaurant, or there are plenty of options close by. They provide everything you need and the beds are super comfy! Thanks very much for a lovely stay. We didn't want to leave.
